IRC Connection Issues

I've been trying for quite a while to get back on to mIRC, but since I had to download it on to a new computer, I'm having problems getting to the Vast Empire server. I've tried various combinations of the ip address, the irc.vastempire.com, and #Vast_Empire, and yet it still doesn't seem to work. Is it just a bug on my end and is there a way to fix this? Do other IRC programs work? Try IceChat.

Well, whenever I attempt to connect, it continues to fail to connect and retries multiple times. The message that I usually see is that it took too long to connect, as well as that the connection is rejected.

Have you tried everything it says to do here: http://comnet.imperialnetwork.com/topic/7839/Also there is a lame java chat on the main page that is basically click and it does the work for you which should allow you to at least get on irc should you desire. Mibbit.com is pretty decent too and runs through your internet browser. There are several clients that are free to download, i have KVirc.
