Undisclosed Shipyard location in Vast Imperial Space
1445 Hours Galactic Standard Time

It was a mess of wire framing with flickers of sparks flashing like small supernovas quickly dying in the vastness of empty space.  Insect-shapes of droids and men crawled throughout it like a hive, attending diligently to their titan charges, preparing them for their summons to the dark night of space beyond.

Robert ‘Oops’ Thrash was onboard a distant station’s viewing deck monitoring their progress in one particular area of the structure.  It was here he saw for the first time what he had only seen in artistic renderings; quite far from the elegant concept drawings that he had been gazing at for the past several months.  Only one thought came to mind as he saw it next to the Interdictor-class Star Destroyer in for repairs:

"It... looks small," Robert muttered as he gazed out of the viewport.

"Compared to its predecessor's models, it is," a stocky man in an engineer's uniform nodded, "But I assure you First Lieutenant Thrash, what it lacks in size it makes up for in maneuverability."

"I suppose it's somewhat symbolic, we're a fraction of our former strength, we must be able to still pack the same punch with lesser numbers if we hope to be successful.  When will she be ready Tarlon?"

The engineer slid his hand across his datapad a couple times before responding, "Roughly a fortnight, maybe an extra week after that.  We are still waiting on a few essential parts to arrive for the bridge system.  Engines are being installed right now over there."

Oops nodded as he followed the man’s pointer finger to the left, "Life support online yet?"

"For about ninety percent of the ship.; we do need to finish the hull for some sections first.  She wasn't supposed to be done for about another six months.  But of course you gave the order to accelerate the construction at the expense of the others three months ago. Can’t say I blame you when she caught your eye, but yes, we're working on it fast as we safely can."

"Of course, there is no sense in doing it sloppily.  We don't need it to stall in space when it first sees action.  The full diagnostic will be done with all the options once you deem her ready to leave the shipyard."

The Zabrak stepped closer to the viewing glass, as if a few meters would give him a better view over the dozens of kilometers of distance from the space station to the yard, "Do you have a shuttle ready?  I want to see her from the inside."

"It ain't much to look at right now, but certainly," Tarlon replied, "Just give me an hour to ensure we have a safe path without someone accidentally jettisoning scrap or plasma jets into our path."

"I'll be here. "
