Physical Description
Small, slender frame. Black hair just beyond shoulder-length, which she often wears in a ponytail. Narrow face with a pointed chin and pronounced cheekbones. She tends to have a faintly haughty look about her, but that instantly melts away when she gives her warm, broad smile, which she does often. When not in uniform, she makes a point of dressing well--not extravagant clothes, exactly, but at least an affordable approximation thereof. She favors light, loose clothing in beiges and browns, little jewelry beyond a few bracelets, and leather sandals.

Personality
Sometimes she's vibrant, talkative, and excitable; other times, she says very little and seems distracted. She laughs easily and, on her talkative days, is always ready with a quick quip.

Character’s Background
Aiselle grew up in Iziz. She is the oldest daughter of Mikal Gant, who for many years managed a small shipping operation, and his wife Ella. The family struggled financially when Aiselle was very young, but things turned around, and they were reasonably well off throughout most of her childhood.

Aiselle was fascinated by government and politics, and was heavily involved in her school's student council. She kept regularly up-to-date with the news of the day, and expressed interest in a career in public service.

However, around the time Aiselle was finishing her education, a string of bad investments put the family back in choppy financial waters. It was expected that Aiselle would remain in Iziz and help support the family, but she surprised everyone, including her closest friends, by heading to the Imperial Naval Academy almost immediately after finishing school.

Also, apparently when I signed up I didn't get the relevance of callsigns. If it would be weird for my character's callsign to be the same as her first name, I'm happy to change it.

Sorry for the delay, but the background section's been edited. I added a little about Aiselle's early ambitions, which hopefully gives more context as to why her enlistment came as such a surprise.
