Just curious here but... does the VE have any kind of advertisement base?

Outside of our Pay per Click sponsors we don't really seem to have much. I'm fairly active on Star Wars fan sites and the web in general but I haven't even heard a whisper about us. The only way I found out was word of mouth from Dusk, I would have loved to have joined sooner but had no idea things like this existed. Seeing as our member count could be higher I'm just wondering if we're putting ourselves out there as much as we could. If not I'd love to start some kind of ads out there possibly on Facebook or Google+.

Well, there are a few problems with this. The first being that many sites charge for advertisements. Another problem is finding the right sites. We are mainly a writing RPG group that used to have a gaming section to it. As most of our gaming community is gone, or is spread through so many systems, we no longer really support that now. Putting an ad on gaming sites might give people the wrong impression, like the thing where a lot of our recruits think we have a Star Wars Galaxies server. The best advertising we can maintain is for our members to promote us. Find people who like to write and like Star Wars. Ask them to join up or at least give us a look. Don't badger, just ask. If you're apart of any other groups like this, spread the word (if they allow it, of course).

On a few sites we have tried creating recruitment bases. These are mostly sites that support groups. If you do create a recruitment base on one of these site, you should let some people here know. Essentially we need to co-ordinate the effort to recruit and mainly for the VE, it's just been some member creating a group, but no one knows.

The Vast Empire has a Facebook page, but it's mainly for members and is really not a recruitment base. Facebook doesn't really work for that. And I doubt Google + will get its own VE group until it kicks off a little more.

But if you guys can think of a few sites to start spreading the word on, please do. The Vast Empire needs recruits, just be sure to tell people. Communication used effectively is how shit gets down.

In terms of sites for advertising we do have a page on gamerDNA and they do have a board which allows for advertising/recruitment, I haven't gotten any notifications from anyone wanting to join up with the VE on there but if some of you are interested in giving that a go, let me know and start having a go at that board but as Skarr pointed out, the hard part is getting to a crowd interested in writing, not simply SWG and the like

Every little bit helps...well, I'm warning you the page is kinda dead as of now because we still have very few embers but if we can get enough people on there as well as active on the forums chances are we may peak some interest. Worth a shot anyway

Alrighty sounds good I'm warning you guys right now...The Guild's kinda dead but I'm looking forward to seeing some life to it!
