It was my intent to announce this at a meeting, but things just keep coming up that don't allow me to be home on Sunday afternoons. I am officially announcing my retirement from the Vast Empire. I have been contemplating this for a while now, and have not come to this decision lightly. I have spent the last 9 years as a member of this organization, and it has played a big part of my life. However, this needs to be done, otherwise I'm just going to fade away.  The Navy deserves a better leader than what I can give to this online community. Someone who actually has an idea of what issues you kids have to deal with, and I just don't have the knowledge of the current issues to do anything. Someone who has the time and motivation to run the Navy the way it needs to be run. That used to be me, but life has its way of changing a lot.

But enough of my reasons why I'm leaving. You guys need to know who will be taking over for me. As of right now, the Naval Commander in Chief is Stormz. I have already promoted him to the rank of Rear Admiral. Who he chooses as his Executive Officer is entirely up to him. I will not make that decision for him. He alone knows who he will work best with. I know that he and the rest of the command staff will take this place where it needs to go.

So as I said before, I have spent 9 years here at the VE, but it's really become my time to take my leave. Now don't worry, I'm not going to pull a Brett Favre and return in a few months expecting my old position back. I don't game any more, I've written more story posts than I can count, and I've really just run out of steam. The Vast Empire will always hold a special meaning to me (as I have two tattoos inspired by my time here), and I will certainly come back and visit. Remember, this place has a lot of meaning, and it's a lot of fun. Never forget that, this place is for fun. If it stops being fun, something has changed that shouldn't have.

With that, good luch and God speed to all of you, I have very fond memories of most of you, and some really interesting memories of the rest of you. It's been fun folks!

*Salutes* I never got to know you quite as well as I'd of liked to, Admiral, but I can say with certainty that I perked up and paid attention to anything you said- and far more often than not, liked and agreed with it. To be able to inspire attention like that through a medium like the internet is the mark of a true leader. I wish you (and your wife) the best of luck as you go on from here.

Congratulations, StOrMz, on a well deserved posting and promotion. Just remember, the High Council's not used to wookiees yet. Don't rip too many arms off before they acclimate.
