The imperialnetwork domain was setup as a base domain for, well, the imperial network. Meaning that the bank, imperitrade, impericare, Vigil Enterprises, ICS, comnet and whatever else I missed are all under the imperialnetwork domain. The magic of the internet allows for such things to happen and even vastempire.com is under the imperial network domain.

Let's take the following website "example.com" This website can have subdomains for example tutorial.example.com This means that the tutorial portion is under the example.com domain name. Like comnet.imperialnetwork.com Now, you may ask how is the vastempire.com a subdomain of imperialnetwork.com because it doesn't follow this subdomain format. This is possible because one may purchase another domain name. For the site tutorial.example.com we will use tutorial.com. Now, the administrator can tell the Domain Name Service (DNS) that the domain name "tutorial.com" points to "tutorial.example.com." This means you only have to type in "tutorial.com" into your browser to get to that page rather than "tutorial.example.com" Now, you could still type in "tutorial.example.com" to get to that page. With that in mind, there are ways to manipulate a domain name to point to one thing and a subdomain to point to another. "tutorial.com" could point to the page you want and "tutorial.example.com" could point to anything else the administrator wants it to point to. This is a very brief and simple example that dodges a number of other issues with the internet like how does typing in example.com always get me to example.com? For now it is just magic.

Well, when I typed http://vastempire.imperialnetwork.com, it redirected me to https://vastempire.imperialnetwork.com:19638/welcome/, which is a administrator log-in site. I guess Kadann is the administrator? TRN/PSC Mox/1SQD/APLT/1COM/1BAT/1RGT/VEA/VE

The Imperial Network is a separate entity that allows any Imperial organization to use it's services.
The Vast Empire is one of those organizations that use the Imperial Network for it's communications and applications (bank, store, stock market, etc).
You may have seen the FES around as well. They are another organization that uses the Imperial Network. Supreme Moff Kadann, Dark Lord
