67th “Osiris” Regiment Report
Vast Imperial Army – Stormtrooper Corps
Captain Thames “Professor” Martel
23 August 2010
Introduction:Many of you folks are no doubt wondering what exactly this position is for. So, let’s get that cleared up before we move onto the juicier bits.
The Regimental Commander is in charge of ensuring activity is maintained in the Corps, even between stories. Try to think of me as the “Activity Officer” if that helps. I’ll be ensuring the squad stories don’t stall out as well as trying to encourage specialties to be played out more (I do not grade them however, that's still the PC's job). When the occasional competition rolls around, I will usually be the one organizing it (don’t worry PC’s, platoon comps and such are still in your hands).
But, let’s not limit ourselves to writing now. I will also be attempting to ease the gaming scene back into the Corps, directing some wiki activities, and a few surprises that you’ll just have to wait for.
And a minor clarification on what Rizzit means by the "little authority" mentioned in his report. That phrase was rather vague and deceptive, what he actually meant to say was that I will not usually discipline you chaps when you step out of line, that's not why I'm here. The "usual commanders" you complain to for that stuff has not changed whatsoever, so please don't come whining to me unless for some reason they are 100% unreachable.
With that aside, let us move onwards to the report itself.
News:Before we can see about jump-starting activity, we have to see who is actually around. Consider this an unofficial AWOL check of sorts, you won't actually go AWOL from "failing" this, it just lets me see where we stand on stuff. So, how do you complete this? Quite simply: fill out and submit
this survey! It shouldn't take too much of your time, and the answers will be anonymous, the callsign collection is just to see who filled out the survey for "unofficial" AWOL check purposes.
Let’s now turn our attention towards a competition of sorts. We want to swell back up our ranks not just with new blood, but also a bit of grit from some grizzled veterans. As such, “Bounties” have been issued for a plethora of “deserters.” It is your duty to go out and find these soldiers who have gone Absent Without Official Leave. See the competition section for more information regarding this.
Activities:- I am currently working on setting up a calendar with my plans so you guys can see what’s upcoming and comment or prepare accordingly.
- An “activity scale” is being worked on, and will let us gauge how active we are week to week and eventually month to month. You’ll see it in next week’s report.
- I will also be working with several other members to establish the first “real” competition operated from this position. No details to be released *yet* but hang onto your hats!
Competitions- Missing in Action - This is your chance to not only make some sweet ICs or possibly earn recruiting medals or commendations. At the same time you bring up the activity of the Corps and fill up those empty spots in the squads. Good huntin` out there!
Closing NotesWell, there we go folks, the first Regimental report, the start of hopefully quite a few more that will just keep growing. Be sure to try and bring back some of those "AWOL" members and keep your stories running!
