Prefect's Report 8.22.10
Welcome Back! For most of us, it's been a rough couple of weeks without our precious domain and comnet to which we dedicate most of our life to. Thankfully, Kadann has saved our lives (or lack thereof) once again and restored order to the VE Galaxy. Be sure to buy him a drink or two when you see him. During this time, those of you that were able to find things constructive to do: awesome. Those who did not: it's not like you did anything wrong. For most of us, we had a nice long vacation; so welcome back!
Staff Changes For those of you who may have noticed, Sergeant Major Havock has been running the Platoon Show for quite some time now. Today, we are making it official that she is now Platoon Commander Havock. Congratulations! Some of you may be wondering what will become of Platoon Sergeant Tanus Solvona? No? Well, just in case: he is going to be doing a complete swap-out with Havock. He will be her Platoon Adjutant AND fill the role of RAIDERS' Squad Leader. I am sure Havock will be announcing her new position to the world soon and making good use of her new found power. I hear she also has an exciting platoon story finished and is just waiting to be able to implement it. Tanus has told Havock that he looks forward to being able to go back to the Squad Level and make a difference again. Good luck to both of them!
Furthermore, I am happy to announce the return of our of our long retired members: Captain Riqimo. There is a small snag with that however, his character has some conflicts on the DJO end of things so therefore cannot return to the Army in it's current state: so he has elected to come back as Captain Professor instead. At any rate, welcome back to him! Now, some of you may not care, others may be curious as to what he will be doing. He and I had a talk, and he wants a spot in the Army where he can help motivate some activity (as a whole) but have as little authority as possible. Therefore, I will be re-working the position of Regiment Commander for him. You will all still be taking orders from Havock, don't worry about that but Professor has a lot of ideas that will hopefully spin out some great activity from all of us. He WILL have the authority he needs to do his job, but he won't have like executive power over Havock or anything like that. He'll be making an official announcement with more about his role soon anyways.
On an ARC-related note, Skarr has replaced Corvin in the group. Congratulations and good luck to him.
ESC? We announced this a while back, and by now most of you are still wondering what is going on with it? First off, I felt it important that Havock get her platoon story in because she had been working on it for a while and I'm confident it will be a success. Secondly, we've had a lot of changes recently in the Army and I didn't want to hold a competition during a time where we were adjusting to some change that had occurred. So, figure a mid to late fall ESC: but it WILL happen.
Rewards We all put in our very best efforts every week to this place, but sometimes some of us are performing slightly better than that of our fellow imperials. Today, I would like to recognize some of these people.
Let's start with the recent mini-competition that Havock orchestrated (thanks to her for that by the way): Server Suckage 2010. Havock, Luckystar, Brightstar, and Skarr will all be receiving 10,000 ICs for participating during the server outage on the proboards.
Now, we have a list of SL-Recommended Awards. The ones that have been approved are as follows:- Lance Corporal Skarr Promoted to Corpral and awarded The Emperor's Shield 2nd Class[ES2].
- Corporal Karash awarded the Emperor's Shield 1st Class [ES1]
- Senior Sergeant Brightstar promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and awarded the Emperor's Shield 1st Class [ES1].
- Senior Sergeant RK awarded the Emperor's Shield 2nd Class[ES2].
Department of Development As most of you know, a while back Jegora had retired from his role of Tactical Officer. At the time, we felt it best not to replace his position: rather we would be taking his "Department" and merging it with that of the Department of Development, allowing for better production of side-projects. I am not going to go into a big speech on what the Department does, I am sure you all know this. Briefly though, they are basically a research and development branch of the army. They design new equipment for us, as well as help out with some progression of the Storm aspect of things. Currently, Sandwich Sam is seeking some new people to help out in side projects. For more details, see his comnet post. Stormz has been a recent addition, and who knows? Maybe the next person to join could be you!
