For those of you who are in the higher command positions, you probably know that there's been some frustration with exactly who's in charge of what and how those positions allign with one another in terms of turf and responsibilities.
After about a half year of deling with these turf battles, from one administration to another, I can say that we're clearly having some issues. Not because we haven't tried to clear them up, but because whenever we create a position or try to align certain responsibilities with those positions: there's always things we leave out, or we don't expect- and we end up having crossed wires. That's when people get irritated and that's when they stop having fun. So-
We're doing something pretty radical here tonight. First and foremost, there's been a system that's been in the works for some time that, although I attempted to explain to our Naval leaders, I'm not sure they'll completely comprehend until we try to put it into practice. So- I'm going to be asking for everyone's complete cooperation for the next little while.
Basically, the system that we've been working on is one that expands the positions a little bit. Instead of starting people out as a pilot, just as their rank says, they would start out as a crewman (aboard a ship, usually smaller in size, but they can be capital sized as well). As one advances through the ranks (because their time in the Navy as well as activity is what pushes that rank), they're given more options: do they want to do a specific duty on a ship? Do they want to be a pilot? Do they want to be a medic? And, as you go even further beyond that, we'd start asking questions like- "do you want to command a wing?" or "do you want to command a ship?" You would move along whatever field, basically, you had cast your character in.
Now, the beauty of this system is that it's not exactly complete, and the lines aren't really in place for what your duties are preciselly. What we're hoping you guys would like to do is to help us with that. Doc has been kind enough to help us with an assembly of what a position structure would look like (and some descriptions of each of those positions), but really- the style and the way that you write is going to be mostly up to you and your small group of writers.
You will have to report to someone every mission, of course, but the story- is compeltely within your control. Basically, every mission has a creater; a certain person creates the perameters for the mission and then certain people or groups will sign onto that mission. Once the mission commneces, that creator will continue to update the mission objectives throughout the story. Your job will be to complete those objectives, but to write meaningful story alongside it. So- how you go about meeting those objectives (and whether you meet them at all) is completetly in your hands.
What we need to do first is split people up according to where they're allowed to be (based on their ranks).
The NHC: Which are going to be Ship Captains (SCAPs) as well, contains (at the moment), myself, Denethor, and Stormz.
The other SCAPs, though, that are important at the moment: are Atrasin, Willtconq, Arturus, Jaen and... I think that's about it.
The Pilots: are Cali, Drac, Tinker, Stewart-Power, Roman, Hunter and Bacredi.
Crew: are Rocket, Amacuse, Avalar, Lamp, Roth, Deepsix, Isa, Maroy, Undertaker and Zark. Lemme know if I've missed anyone?
Now, the following image should help you understand what position you can take based on your specific rank: just follow it up the line (as the names of some of the ranks have been slightly adjusted).

We've already got a few folks figured out here:
Avalar has decided to be a gunner on a smaller ship (and a deckhand in down time)
Rocket is a Master Medic?
Amacuse is a Master Technician
Stewart said he was leaning toward Pilot I think-
Bacredi was leaning pilot? I'll have to check up on those two.
Art is still running the 7th fleet.
Actually- Will is an SCAP, obviously
So: what we need to do is figure out where everyone else is at. Before the official "switch" happens (we're ganna try this out a little bit and see what happens), everyone will continue to report to their squadrons.
If you have any questions or are unclear- just PM me.
Otherwise- what do you folks want to try? If you're in the middle ranks where you can decide to be a pilot or ship- you can switch between either if you're already on one. For instance, if you don't want to be a pilot, you can choose to be a member of a ship crew

Alrighty- think we're good.
I'll make another note on here about subdivisions. I'll be back later
