So a neighbor of mine from last summer (who I've kept in good contact with) asked me and my friend to play "Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts at her wedding. That day happened to be today, actually, and man- what an awesome day, lol.
I screwed up the song a bit on guitar (I'd just looked up at the groom and he looked happy, so I just naturally started playing worse, lol), but no-one seemed to notice and everything went pretty well with timing/tuning: just great, lol.
Anywho, the point of the post is that me and my friend stuck around and met a bunch of these people we didn't really know- and had a great time. People that weren't really even our type, y'know, but you'd be amazed what you can learn from people that you've never known, or maybe weren't all that impressed with when you first spoke with them. The bride's father, for instance, was a gentleman from the Bronx, and even though my song came on in the background (Billie Jean, lol), I was like "no dude- stick it out, talk to this guy." He totally imparted great wisdom on me, lol, so- I'm very thankful. And even the people I sat with at my table for the dinner: an army seargent who helped me be a little less cynical about our efforts over seas: just great
So- I thought I'd just share with you folks that good things are happening, lol. I'm very appreciative of it, and I figured it would be nice to share that with you guys. Have a great day
