This story is going to deal with the VEN's first encounter with a mysterious new enemy who is going to prove to be a worthy advisory.

I've opened with us in the heart of the action, but the back-story is essentially Rhegent's Reign was sent to the Absit system to gather recon-information. 

The Absit system if a sleep system left untouched by any of the galaxy's big players so the VE want to see if it could a potential place for the VE's expansion. However, as we can see by the opening the VE's come up  against something, something bad.

Rhegent's Reign was deployed upon entering the system but the task force is lingering back in the system to avoid detection meaning RR are currently on their own against this threat.

For now post yourself in the middle of the chaotic dogfight - we've been given strict instructions by our WC that we can't take any enemies out as we can't seen to be making any declaration of war.
Some members will likely break this ruling but please wait until either myself or our XO indicates that within the story. For the meanwhile, you're trying to survive, you can obviously fire upon the enemy but purely to get out of there.

I will formally introduce myself to those of you who don't know me in the story, which should set a background for Cali and Rocket considering my character just met them as well.

Lets see some quality writing here pilots, I'm not too worried about quantity, so just take your time and make sure we're moving the plot in a forward direction with each of our posts. No fillers

@Maroy: It is conceivable that your craft could be temporarily disabled during the dogfight - if certain systems within your Interceptor fail but the enemy don't want us there so we can't have you hanging in dead-space for too long. How do you propose you get yourself up and running if you did?

Thats the thing they don't have shields but their veterans fought more battle than most of the people in the Squadron.

Due to some things that have caught my attention I am implementing a minimum word count which will be 500 words per post. Also I want you guys to start putting word count at the bottom of your posts.

I thought the 500 words was implied? Anyways...
Glad to finally have a story to post too.

No you guys don't know that the Corvettes are there yet, its kind of gonna be like a surprise moment when you guys find out that they are there. Also you need to put word counts at the bottom of your posts, but overall the post wasn't that bad.

Good start on the story, Rhegents. I'm looking forward to everyone's additional posts. These first few are phenomenal.

Well after I talk to Cali this weekend, I will be making a post that brings the corvettes into play, as well as the Deliverance, which is the craft that my character is commanding, where Rhegent's launched from, and the one you will return to.

Maroy is right everyone - the word limit is enforced for everyone's benefit. Could those that need to please conform to the word count in the next 48 hours.

Also this is the time frame for everyone to get their posts and reactions up with the first phase of the fight. After the 48 hours myself and Rocket will be moving the story forward.
