Welcome to the Vast Empire Naval Training squadron. This thread is for the recruits who have passed chapter's I and II and are on their way to completing flight school. Here you will discuss posts with your squadron mates and 'shoot the bull' in your off time. Remember, socialization is key to be a successful writer and be successful in the VE in general. Yes, and your first post is a good one. There are a few things to note that i would like you to edit with your post however.
1) Stormz is a Wookiee.
2) Grammar. When someone speaks it should end with a punctuation mark. If it's in the middle of a sentence, a comma needs to precede the quotations.
Ex. Hunter looked at IG-88 and said, "Power down."
"Power down," Hunter said while looking at IG-88.
3) Referring to one's self. You don't always have to refer to yourself as IG-88 (unless you are speaking...and that's only if you want). You can use your rank, squadron position, or nick name.
Ex. IG-88, Crewman, Raptor 1-1, or (This is a fake nick name) Tin Can.
This adds character to your post.
Again, I want to commend you on your first post. It takes a lot of work and nerve to submit it. I feel that it was a very good post for not having someone to help guide you through it the first time. Keep it up! The more you write, the more natural it will be to you. Everyone has their own writing style, and by observing other's, we can learn little tips that aid our faults (I have plenty of them). |

Writing continuation posts are mostly all we do in story posts. We continue from a previous post, whether it was yours or someone else's. and we move the plot along just a little bit, until we reach critical points in the story, plot twists, or end of mission. in those cases usually the SC or the XO will make the moves. Welcome, guys. I don't think I've introduced myself to you two yet, so: I'm Drac, an Operator at the Academy and the XO of Nazgul. You both know Hunter, who is our SC. And in case you don't know the others, Ibram is SC of Viper with bjorkfrid as his XO.

Great work so far guys! Character Development (C/D) posts are some of the hardest to get the hang of, yet you both have done just fine.
Now for assignments:
IG and Searchboy: I will be posting a continuation to the story in the morning. After that, you can continue the story as you see fit.
Remember: You are both fleet members, neither of you can give orders, you can only obey.
Cipher: If you have time, you can post a character development post. If not, then don't worry about it and just start with us in the simulators. |
