Halloween Story Comes to a CloseWith what was to be the most controversial story in a long line of controversial stories, it is safe to say you all did an excellent job. For story accuracy next year (if we do this again) it would be an excellent idea not to refer to the creatures as "Vampires, Werewolves, Lycans, Zombies, etc.". They were given Star Wars names so we did not HAVE to call them that. Overall though, excellent work.BehaviorThis gets slightly tiring. Sometimes, I feel like I am babysitting about 30 children ages 2-7. How many of you are familar with this?
Imperial Penal Code wrote:Article 1: Offenses Against Persons
* Chapter 1: Insolence - Any member or officer who mocks or disrespects a superior officer, either privately or in the presence of others, shall be guilty of insolence, a Class I Offense.
* Chapter 2: Insubordination - Any member or officer who continually or maliciously disrespects a superior officer, either privately or in the presence of others, shall be guilty of insubordination, a Class II Offense.
* Chapter 3: Gross Insubordination - Any member or officer who continually or maliciously disrespects a superior officer, either privately or in the presence of others, after having received a direct order (either implicit or explicit) to cease such conduct, shall be guilty of gross insubordination, a Class III offense.
* Chapter 4: Disorderly Conduct - Any member or officer who mocks or disrespects any other member or officer of the Vast Empire, either privately or in the presence of others, shall be guilty of disorderly conduct, a Class I Offense.
* Chapter 5: Gross Disorderly Conduct - Any member or officer who continually or maliciously mocks or disrespects any other member or officer of the Vast Empire, either privately or in the presence of others, shall be guilty of gross disorderly conduct, a Class II Offense.
* Chapter 6: Conduct Unbecoming an officer - Any member or officer who continually or maliciously disrespects any other member or officer or the Vast Empire, either privately or in the presence of others, after having received a direct order (either implicit or explicit) to cease such conduct, shall be guilty of conduct unbecoming an officer, a Class III offense.
Look familiar? It should. See that part where it says "either privately or in the presence of others"? That INCLUDES your squad channels. Obviously, not all of these rules have been broken but a good number of them have. You were ALL warned publicly last week after the horrible treatment you gave the Navy. This week, there not only was repeated offenses of that and various kicks of people from the meeting but we had the bashing of each other in our squad channels. This is hopefully the last warning you need. Those that need to be dealt with, your direct officers have been spoken to about you and will be dealing with you privately. Those who do not: thank you for knowing how to conduct yourselves like mature adults. This place is for the fun of all, and we should not have to deal with that fun being taken away by me making these speeches in response to those who make others miserable. MAYBE on some level, it is fun for you to bash this one and that one at the time: but at the same time you make that person miserable - thus, taking away any fun they might be having. This includes harassing new recruits. We were all recruits at one point, and I remember how most of you were at that time. SOME of you, even remember how I was. Somewhere along the lines, we were all annoying. I believe Ibram Tyrol from the Navy suggested putting them on ignore. Why not? If they are really annoying you THAT much, its much more important for them to stick around and learn how things are then to get harassed by you because they were annoying you and leave out of frustration. Yeah, we're all guilty of this at some point: but we need to learn from our mistakes and not repeat them. To those that are taking the fun away from others, either STOP or I will take YOUR fun away. If you think I am joking, try me. You will not be happy with the results!RecruitingI am sure by now most of you have seen Ron's Rant on Recruiting. While it may have been a bit overdone, he does have a point - we need to get more members in AND we need them to stay. I am sure the Academy Staff does everything in their power to help out the new members but we need to keep good recruits coming in. Yes, I of all people am aware of how DIFFICULT it can be to recruit. I also recognize the importance of it however. Therefore, I am offering a reward to you all if you can successfully recruit.
- For every recruit that stays active for 60 days! I will grant you a lump sum of 50,000 ICs.
- For every recruit that stays active long enough to attain the rank of Corporal: I will grant you a sum of 500,000 ICs.
- Additionally, you get 7% of the new recruit's paycheck every month as long as they are a member of the Vast Empire.

Closing NotesCongratulations to those of you that received awards this week. I do apologize for not getting this up sooner, personal affairs prevented me from doing so. To those wondering about upcoming events, remember to check the activities calendar. Everything and anything will be on there that is worth knowing about. Let's clean up our act and make this week better than the last two!
