Halloween StoryConsidering you only had two weeks to work on it and it was a somewhat controversial format, I think you all did an excellent job. This was one of the few stories that I had to do very few deletions and edits which can only mean we're getting better right? At any rate, to those of you that have any feedback on the story, I will be very interested to hear about it. Comnet PM that to me. Also, to those wondering about post-story rewards: I will be doing those next week at the meeting. The AcademyAs I addressed this week at the meeting, our Academy Staff works tirelessly day and night every day and night for us. You never really appreciate what they do, until you try doing it yourself for a day. At times, it can be easy; but there are times when they all just want to up and leave - and who could blame them? They serve faithfully to us without asking anything in return. Yet, amazingly we do not always notice the good things they do for us. In fact, some of us tend to forget the academy even exists. It does exist, and its staff does deal with a lot of problems that makes the drama at the squad level seem like a petty squabble over tea. For all that they do, they are to be rewarded.
- 1st Lieutennant Riqimo is promoted to Captain.
- Sergeant Major Kanderin Draken has been given the Officer's Exam and been promoted to 2nd Lieutenant.
The Tadath TimesAs you all know, we now have an Army Newsletter: The Tadath Times (TTT). Thanks goes to Senior Sergeant Ron for this. This newsletter will also be sent to former members in an attempt to get them to return due to all the happenings. All in all an incredibly well put together project. Ron has also done an incredible amount of work for the Wildcard Platoon Graphics wise (you'll see some of that featured in his newsletter). For this and just his overall everyday contributions, he has been awarded the Cross of Resolve [CoR]. The manual lists this as:
A medal given to the troopers that, from day to day, show manners and activity befitting an officer. These troopers are very active and ready to help the Vast Empire any way they can. This medal may be given out by Company Commander’s and above.
Congratulations to you Ron. Keep up the good work. For those who have not seen The Tadath Times, you can grab the latest issue here.Army History and Mapping ProjectAs most of you know, I have been looking for people to help out in this project. Thus far, I have 4 helpers. There are always room for more. We took a break because of the major storyline that was going on and wanted to dedicate our attention to that completely. To those that still might want to help out, send me a Comnet PM. Also, thank you thus far to those that have been helping out with the project.BehaviorI am sure most of you are well aware of what I need to say here. This is one of the few times, I break my "Praise in Public, Punish in Private" rule because there have been countless violations of it already. As of late, our behavior as a whole has been impulsive at best. This is in regards to no one person in particular, in fact we're all at fault in our own ways. I've seen everything from outbursts in the public eye, smart talking a superior officer, talking down to those below you, and even taking shots at one another for whatever reason. Mind you, all of these issues have been dealt with or are currently being dealt with (in private of course); however, as your Prefect: I can't tell you how much it maddens me to see us behaving like this. Today especially was an atrocity! Whether you realize it or not, the VE meeting is the one time every week where we all get into uniform. This also means you conduct yourselves like proper ladies and gentlemen would at a high society event. It has almost become a tradition for many months now that the Army has been more active than the Navy. This is not a jab at the Navy, but to set the stage here. In past times when it came time to give out A LOT of rewards, the Army Report alone took ONE HOUR. The Navy has ALWAYS shown us the greatest amount of respect during our meetings, yet today we gave them the exact opposite. Yes, I do realize that hardly any of you care about what the Navy had to say. I also realize, that a good number of their members probably feel the same way about our report. They are always silent and respectful. Today, we had Snipes making random comments throughout the entire meeting and our ACTIVE DUTY MEMBERS were changing their IRC Nicknames asking the Navy to hurry it up. The Navy Officers frankly are for the most part enraged, and who can blame them? What they had to say WAS very important to them. Honestly, they have been without real action on their end for a long time due to them not having a proper NHC. They were granted the means to work around this, so it is a VERY big thing to them. It should have been to you guys too. This kind of thing rarely (if ever) happens here, and to say you witnessed it will be a story to tell. Instead of appreciating it though, you chastised another division -which in my opinion is WORSE than chastising another squad! This ends here. Today, there will be no actions taken against you. I am going to see this stopped however. I will start issuing punishments to those that are being rude to ANYONE at a meeting. Navy, DJO, Army, or even the HC. If you come to the meeting, you are here because you want to listen to ALL SIDES not just your own personal division! If it comes to it, I will take ICs away (and no small amounts either), if ICs don't work, maybe dropping a few ranks will, and if that doesn't work maybe a ban from the meetings will? Furthermore, I think each of you involved (you know who you are) owe the Navy some form of apology. That is all I am going to say on the matter. ClosingThat's all for this week everyone. I hope you all have a good week! Let's aim for next week to be a much better week than we have been having shall we?
