"Soon I can deal some heavy damage officially." Thought Heiro, while he was hurrying to his classroom. As soon as he entered the the room, he noticed he was one of the first ones, so the lessons hadn't started yet. As he had time, he took apart his fathers two DC-17 handblasters and put them back together again. He also had an Imperial Heavy Repeater on his back given by the academy, but as he wasn't really into that kind of weaponry, he didn't give a damn about it, he only knew that in order to become one of the sharpshooters, it was an another obstacle needed to be crossed. "I really need to get my head into this." Said Heiro after completing messing around with his DC-17's. He took the heavy repeater and started to get interested in the design.

"Now that everyone are here." Heiro heard the instructor, quickly putting away his "toys" he kept listening. "I am your instructor Stein, some of you may have heard about me, those who haven't... Shame on you! Anyway this is your first lesson on heavy weaponry - how to handle the weapons, what tactics to use and how to react on different kind of tight situations. Basically your mission is to keep friendlies unhurt, cover them and take out every single enemy standing on their way.

You all have been equipped with heavy repeaters, flash bangs, paralysis grenade and couple of 0033X grenades. The given equipment is mostly for assault purposes, but can very well used in defensive situations. Now in defense we use more powerful weapons like mounted cannons and such, but that is not today's subject. Now we will show you guys some basic video about battle tactics and teamwork, so you wouldn't only have to chew on bare words" Teached the instructor Stein and clicked on the remote.

The video started up, the basic scenery was in an forest, looked like Planet Endor or something similar, the mission itself was to retrieve an info disk from the enemy. The friendly squad was made up from four stormtroopers, three of them had basic assault type weaponry equipped, while one of them had the same Imperial heavy repeater. Most places to cover at were the trees and rocks, but there was also an battered wall with an wide crack in the middle and an building about hundred meters from the wall. The wall was about one and half meters high, so it was easy to shoot over it and take cover. That's probably why the stormtroopers were taken their positions there.

As the first enemy showed up from the bushes, it was clear that the adversaries were rebels. The first enemy was taken down by one of the assault troopers, then an group of rebels showed up from behind of a big rock, the machine gunner immediately started pinning down the enemy, so part of the group could flank the enemy from other side. In a minute the group rebels were silenced. Then one of the assault troopers rejoined the rest of the assault team, as the machine gunner covered the perimeter. Then as it was clear, he took up place on a flat rock, facing the house. The rest of the group took their position at the front door, while still scanning the area with their eyes. Then the heavy weapons specialists took an grenade and threw it through an window into the house.

After the bang, the assault team instantly rushed in, seeing as the room was clear from alive bodies they took defensive positions whilst waiting for the gunner. As the gunner entered the room, the assault team targeted the next room, seeing the rebels taking cover inside, behind desks and walls, the gunner threw an grenade next to them by bouncing the grenade off the corridor wall. After the bang he instantly ordered the assault team to scan the damage. After the assault team took care of the few living beings, they advanced by going up the stairs, the stairs were clear so they targeted an next room. The next room looked like an office one, and as it was empty an part of the assault team started to look for the disk, gunner kicked the table down to block the only indoor passage into the room thus covering the corridor and keeping the vulnerable troops safe. Also one of the troopers took position at the window, in order to signal the team about any outdoor activity.

After a minute an group of rebels showed up, walking up the stairs, the gunner readied his weapon and as soon as two of the rebels were out from cover enough to shoot he opened fire, after the enemy was pinned down, he threw an paralysis grenade near the stairs, broke the table to let the rest of the team clear up the cramped victims. After taking care of hostile troops and still no disk on sight, they searched the troopers, finding the disk on enemy officer. Then they carried on their way to the LZ, with no notable incidents they arrived the LZ. One of the troopers messaged the air transport for pickup. Then they took cover and watched the perimeter while waiting for pickup. 10 minutes had passed and only few rebels showed themselves only to get their heads blown off by brute firepower. Finally the transport arrived and the disk was captured with no losses. - Video ended -

As everyone stopped writing down their notes in the pad, Stein started to speak:
"Now that is an real example of teamwork and how to react on situations with minimal time loss. Before I let you all go, I will teach you something about your blaster and how to keep your weapon working."

Stein ordered the whole class to take apart their weapons in order to talk about the parts of the heavy repeater. Then he explained why an heavy repeater always beats an smaller version weapons in accuracy, range and firepower and also talked about why an secondary lighter weapon is smart to have in handy while in battle, as your comrades aren't immortal and sometimes you have to cope different challenges by your own. Then he showed how to clean the weapon after each battle, what kind of chemicals to use and how to make sure your weapon doesn't overheat in the battle.

As Stein saw there is still an small amount of time remaining until the end of first lesson he called one of the students in front of the class.

"Private Kalev7 please come in front of the class with your repeater."
"Yes, Sir!" Heiro replied

The instructor showed how to hold the gun in different situations and positions like when lying down, standard shooting position and when mounting on solid objects like walls, flat rocks or just on sandbags.

"Thank you Kalev seven. Now silence, for next lesson, all of you must read through your notes and prepare yourselves for some active battle. Class dismissed!" Stated the instructor and started to fill in some data.

"Cant wait for the next lesson" Said Heiro to himself and left the classroom turning on his music player.

"I choose death before dishonor, I rather die then live on down my knees. So bury me like a soldier."

Story 1: Fire Support Tactics

"You have one new message." said Heiro's datapad.
"You must be at simulation room at 11:15 AM." Was the short, but informative message from the instructor.
"Dang, so soon" cursed Heiro, "Did I tell you I got an 'eye surgery' test made up by my father? And he will send me it tomorrow. I have so much to read and also I have to be fresh for the simulation." Told Heiro to his friend Taf, who is an combat engineer in the Imperial ranks.
"That sounds like I have to go, you have a lot to do as it seems. I will not bother you. We will go on hunting grounds later then." told Taf.
"But..." - Heiro tried to speak, but Taf vanished behind the door.
"Ah it is 5 PM already. Guess, I'll start learning for the test." Heiro thought as he looked at the clock.

After studying till 11 PM he set his alarm clock on 10 AM and went to bed.

The next day he woke up, took a shower, dressed up and went to the simulation room.

"Welcome, Kalev7. I have one question." said Stein.
"Yes, go on" told Heiro curiously.
"Are you an robot?" asked Stein, kinda seriously.
"Of course not, why such questions" answered Heiro.
"Good, then you better stop thinking and start reacting as humans cannot process information as fast as robots, we have been given something much efficient- reaction" said Stein and continued, "Please take a seat in the simulaton pod and put this helmet on."

Heiro took a seat, put the helmet on and before he was able to say 'I'm ready' the simulation started.

Attempt number one,
Mission: Suppress the enemy
You have one hour to complete the mission.
Was stated on the screen.

The mission started and the environment was absolutely stunning. The group of 8 ( 2 gunners - one of them was Heiro - 1 medic, 1 combat engineer and 4 assault troopers) were marching at the sandy shoreline and it didn't seem like a battle simulation at all. More like an silent patrol on a wonderful route. But then, he felt the engines blowing against the ground. And there it was, the magnificent TX-130T Fighter Tank, and there wasn't only one. All sort of heavy machinery joined the battle, from speeder bikes to TIE Maulers to AT-AA's. All those vehicles slowly passed the small stormtrooper squad. Then as the aircrafts passed them, you were able to see the beautiful landscape taking shape of an deadly battlefield. An aerotransport got hit by an missile and crashed behind the enemy lines. Then as first enemy vehicles showed up, it was clear who he was facing - the droids. His squad started to run, but there were no enemy infantry in sight, after an ten minute run the battlefield suddenly became quiet. Voices of cheering crowd came from the comlink: "We have taken sector Alpha, your group must proceed to sector Zulu, wait at your current position an UT-AT will soon be there to pick you up and transport you near the enemy."

Right after the orders were given, the Unstable Terrain Artillery Transport appeared next to them. They garrisoned into the vehicle. They were able to hear the tanks next to them getting hit and blowing up and they felt as UT-AT started firing. Heiro knew it was an simulation, but it felt pretty much real to him, so soon he forgot it.

"I think we will be stationed in an hot zone, so prepare to take up some heavy action." he said.
"Do not worry, we..." the other gunner started, but the transport was hit.
"Hold on strong!" Said one of the troopers in deep voice, seemed like his was the sergeant.

Then another strong hit landed in the back, it was an bomb, an pretty strong one too, but the armor held the destructive power back. The AT fell on its side and kept sliding till it hit an sand embankment, which stopped the beast. As Heiro looked around he saw the doors were open, seeing the sand wall he ordered everyone capable to move to take cover there. But it seemed the AI wasn't as stupid as he thought they would be. Part of the troopers were already taking cover against the sand. It looked like he was the only one dizzy from all that roller coaster shit. After he regrouped with the rest of the team and recovered from the incident, he noticed that part of the armored forces were taken down and the other part was zeroing in on right flank, where another platoon of droid forces had regrouped at. Then he looked over the embankment and saw an enemy bunker a few meters away.

"Kalev7, you stay here with Bigs and Zan, offering us cover fire, while we rush to the pile of barrels." Ordered the sergeant.
"Got it, sir!" Heiro confirmed.

Heiro opened fire on the bunker, winning the enemy's attention the rest of the troopers hurried to the next cover point. They threw an grenade into the bunker, making an mess inside. Suddenly there were blasts everywhere. An EWHB-12 heavy repeating blaster manned by one of the droids started firing on the left.

"Get down Bigs! Opening fire over over your head!" acknowledged Heiro.

After few shots the droid ended up smoking from the place his head used to be.
That taken cared of, the troopers went on invading the bunker.

"Kalev7, man the EWHB. Bigs, go with him and Zan hold your position." Instructed the sergeant.

*Right on it*Affirmative*Roger* - sounded the choir of willing men.

As soon as the bunker was cleared, the troopers started to blast on the droid masses. Quickly Heiro manned the turret and opened waves of fire on the droids. The enemies fell line by line until most of the tin cans were taken down. Few of them retreated to cover, but were taken down by the troopers in the bunker.

"Enemy on the 3'o clock" heard Heiro from the bunker.
"Flank the enemy from behind the barrels, we will be right with you!" Told Heiro to Zan.
"Will do!" Shouted Zan.

Zan took fire on the droids and the troopers were happy, as they were struggling to keep themselves away from enemy blaster fire. Then a few moments later Heiro and Bigs reached Zan and drove off the droids with few grenades.

"Whats the situation in there?" Asked Heiro while still holding his finger on the trigger blasting away retreating droids.
"Pretty nasty here, two wounded and one dead" Told the medic.
"Look a couple of AT-ST-s heading our way"

And then a screeching voice came into our ears- it was few droid bombers flying over the ST-s. A mere second later the AT-ST-s were nothing but spare parts smoking on ground. Heiro, Zan and Bigs regrouped with the rest of the team inside the bunker.

"We lost 'em" Yelled one of the troopers.
"Enemy incoming, spread the fire!" Ordered the sergeant.

The whole squad opened fire on the droids, Heiro threw an grenade between a small droid squad, blowing them all away. Now there was only two more squads to be taken down. Then an Homing Spider Droid appeared from the distance with a large margin on droids.

"Kalev7, throw this smoke grenade near those three trees." Requested the sergeant.
"Roger" He said showing his agreement.
"We need air support on green, I say again, we need air support on green!" Demanded the sergeant.

A moment later, while the team of 5 were still killing off the nearby droids, TIE Bombers contacted the survivors in the bunker through comlink, telling them to take cover not to get hit by the wave.
The bombs landed near the green smoke, destroying every nearby metal been. Heiro turned his heavy repeater at the bunker entrance while it was all smoky outside. The air cleared up and no enemy was there to be seen. The sergeant was contacted through comlink: "Good work holding the sector Zulu, the factory has been surrounded and the droids gave us white flag, outstanding job everybody!"

Appeared on the screen and the helmet screen went black.

Heiro blinked as he recovered from looking at the screen, then he exited the pod and walked up to the instructor to see how he did.

"Pretty well, pretty well indeed, you nicely took a small role part in commanding as well as listened to your sergeant, but you shouldn't have sit at the EWHB-12 for so long and should've rejoined your squad right away, after taking down the droids. But at least you reacted well on the situation. Well I think you need no extra courses on this matter, so next time we will learn about usage of artillery. Be at the usual classroom at 8 AM tomorrow then. Have some time to relax now." Gave the instructor a long speech.

Till next time Wished Heiro farewell and exited the room.
"Now what I had to do now. Oh yes! EYES!" Heiro
remembered he was going to have a test soon and hurried home...
