Training: Heavy Weapons Specialist
Level one: Cover Tactics
Story: Fire Support Tactics

Volckie had just joined the stormtrooper corp, but just wanted a way to hurt the Rebels even more, so he decided to learn to fire some heavy weapons. They looked almost fun to handle, and powerful. He sent in his request, and then got back to work with his new squad.

A week or so later, he received a memo from his CO,

TO: Vrei "Volckie" Thatch
FROM: SL of Paladin
BODY: Your request for specialization training has been accepted. Report tomorrow at 0630 to begin training for heavy weapons

Well that's good. A little early, but I guess we have a lot to cover. He thought.

== the next morning, 0630 ==

"Reporting in for training, SIR" Volckie reported in to the sergeant, and lined up in formation with the 4 other people in the classroom.

"At ease" The sergeant said, and the soldiers went into the at ease position. "You have all put in a request for heavy weapons training. This begins now. The first subject is fire support. This means that you will support your tactics with fire, in case you didn't get that. In other words, shoot the bad guys to keep there heads down. This can be used in case you need to storm a building, and don't want all of your men to die. I hope you people can see the benefit of that"

The sergeant continued, "So now that you have learned the basic use of fire support, you should put it to use." He pointed to 2 of the trainees. "You 2 are known as Alpha team for now". He pointed to Vrolckie and the other trooper. "You 2 are Bravo team. The first exercise we will do is Alpha team assualts, and Bravo team makes sure they don't die. Sounds good?" He looked at all the troopers, who seemed a little scared. "Oh, just so you know, we will be using simulators, so you dont die in the first 5 seconds when you get shot."

The men ran down toward the sims, and each got into one, and entered their ID number to bring up to programmed interface. The sergeant, yelling as always, said, "Alright! the mission is simple, storm the building, Alpha team attack, Bravo supports, and the second building is the opposite. GO!" He yelled as Alpha team started running, and Volckie and his partner, designated Bravo-2, started firing at the rebels that kept leaning out of the building to fire. Volckie leveled his E-11, and fired a quick burst at the first head he saw, then started to turn to the next, and fired another shot. "NO!" the sergeant yelled, "You want them to keep their heads down, so fire repeatedly to were they were to scare them!" Volckie took this advice, and started emptying a quarter of his pack into the buildings, and moved on. When he saw a rebel fall out of the building, he whooped, and got a nasty reminder from the sergeant

"Ok, Alpha team made it. Bravo, GO!" the sergeant yelled. Volckie darted forward, and fired every so often, and felt a heat wave pass as a blaster bolt just missed him. Wow, thank god this is a sim he though, as he saw Bravo-2 drop to the ground, and he just kept running till he got to the building.

"Alright, a quick recap. Volckie, DONT LEAVE YOUR MEN BEHIND! GOT IT!" the sergeant yelled at Volckie. "next, ALPHA TEAM, FIRE MORE. THATS HOW BRAVO-2 GOT HIT. GOT IT?" everyone nodded meekly, and then the sergeant continued, "Return to your squads. I will see you at the same time tomorrow"

Why such an early time... its difficult to shoot strait that early volckie thought to himself. Then again, that might be the point... to see who is able to fight early and learn and follow the correct lessons. He walked back toward his squad, then realized he would have to continue training with them as well... wow they must really like endurance here... this is going to be a long, long, long few month... sigh... Volckie thought, wondering how long and difficult it was going to be to do extra training, and put up with that annoying sergeant... I really look forward to being able to give my own orders he continues thinking.
