Now, most of you have this game, are getting the game soon, or are currently in the process of getting the game.  Regardless of how you got said game, it's time for me to complain.  Now I've played only the single player part, cause lets face it, senseless violence is not my idea of a good time.  If there's going to be violence there better be a halfway decent story to make me want to commit this violence.  Now while this game is quite nice on the eyes I have some issues with it's portrayal of Stormtroopers. Me bing a stormtrooper I happen to know quite a bit about being one.  Having saiid that this game is just New Republic propoganda to make us, the stormtroopers of the Empire, look like complete and total morons. For example, when being assaulted by one person we do not automatically yell out, "GET BEHIND HIM!"  The rebel coder that came up with that tatic should be shot.  What's getting behind him gonna do, besides let us shoot the people that are in front of him.  On the off chance that we miss, which is a pretty good chance according to what I've seen thus far in the game, we will only hit random things on the other side of our target.  And what's on the other side of our target?  Another Stormtrooper.  Really brilliant.  Next problem I have.  Several times I was able to walk in a room and have nobody do anything.  There is a thing called periphial vision.  It's what normal people have and allows them to see things to the sides of them.  Another thing is that when a motion occurs out of the corner of someone's eye, they look at it.  I've stood at an open door, jumping around and the imperials in the room did nothing.  And while I'm talking about eyesight, let me also bring up the sense of hearing.  I don't know about you, but when I hear blaster fire in the next room, it makes me think, "Hmm... blaster fire outside, there must be fighting going on outside.  I must go out and see if I can help my comrades."  I do not think, "Ooh blaster fire, Maybe if I ignore it the bad guys won't come in the room I'm in and shoot me. " And it if that isn't bad enough.  I've shot somebody from across the room and he died.  I enter the room further thinking, and correct me if this is bad thinking, that the room was empty because nobody was shooting back.  But nooo, that is not the case.  Upon further entering of the room I see that there is a friend of the previously mentioned Stormtrooper (who btw is dead) standing behind a column or equipment box.  Did he try to help his friend?  No.  I'm glad that at least some people in the squad would help me out if I was being shot at.  Not all the people in my squad are chickens, (hehe) and if I was being shot at they would come and help me.  If not for us being friends, but for the fact that if they didn't, they would have to carry my share of the work.  Some other things.  I have yet to be stationed at a post where I am kept in a room to the side of a command center with about 4-5 other guys.  First off, I'm quite claustrophobic, and then there's the thought of being stuck in a room with 4-5 other guys.  Just my luck the cooling unit in someone's armor would break down and I would have to put up with the stink for my shift.  There are better uses of my time when the base I'm in is being infiltrated.  I don't know what I could possibly be doing that's more important than protecting my 2.5mx5m hole in the wall, but on the off chance that you want to send my squad out to find the SOB that's shooting up the place ..... yea. Falling to one knee is not a good tatic when in a fire fight, unless it is behind some kind of cover.  Doing it in the open just means that my body won't fall as far when I'm shot in the head.  Maybe if the rebel programmers at Raven spent as much time programming the Stormtrooper AI as they did programming the multiple flips that we do when we die, this game would be a lot better.  We would be able to rely on the cunning and skills that we actually have instead of tatics like flooding the room with 40 guys at a time.

I agree (something of a miracle there) In my experience, the best part of LucasArts' games are "Oooo, I've got a lightsaber! *swish swish*" Which is why I've boycotted it, and have run out to buy Imperialism II instead. I like my soldiers to be real men

The Stormtrooper AI is very primitive to say the least. I tried to recall the last game where I fought tons of brainless enemies in a single room because they were not tactically placed: Serious Sam, instantly came to mind, and then DOOM. Having played Raven Software's "Soldier of Fortune," it just does not make any sense why the Stormtrooper AI could not have been better.

"Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance, My head is bloody, but unbowed.
It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul."

I have not played the game as of yet. I do however want to get it. I usually do not play the SP on PC games. I usually just go for the multiplayer part of the game. Now, judging by the amount of people playing the game that I can see in #Vast_Empire, I am assuming that the MP is very good. A small problem I have though, I have an 8MB Video Card, and a 4-year old computer. In your opinion, should I purchase the $100 Video Card, plus JediKnight2? or should I just wait until I get a new computer that will come with it? I need advice people!

One can always do with a newer computer.... And let's look at the engine, it's not causing this lack of AI at all.  Return to Castle Wolfenstein has an excellent AI.  The Soldiers run behind pillars, duck down behind kicked over tables, and if an alarm is sounded, swarm on the player. I was kinda hoping for something like the squad commando AI from Half life.  It was great, they would hide behind a corner, trying to flush you out with grenades, sneak up behind you... Fun times
