Jester - Take Control of Eriadu City
Basic Rules-Each squad has 15 posts to complete their objectives.
-No post may be more than 2500 words. There is no minimum, but it is strongly suggest ed to not waste posts with 300 words.
-If the objective is completed in 15 posts or less, bonus points are awarded (See "Points" section below).
-No post after the 15th will be scored for that objective.
-Once the objective is completed, the Squad Leader will be presented with two options for the next objective. The SL or ASL will select the choice of the squad, (IRC, Comnet PM, e-mail) and the introduction for the squad's next objective will be posted within 12 hours.

GradingPosts - Graded on a scale of 0-5 points based on the quality of the writing. As always, quality will be evaluated based on the usual criteria of descriptiveness, realism, story progression, etc.
- OOC:
- Nowhere here do I state that I am grading on length. Please do not confuse quality over quantity. If you toss me a post with 2400 words in it, I may grade that post the same as a post which had 500 words in it.
Please do not feel you need to write a novel in each post. While I do not discourage the practice of writing complete and extensive posts, please note that just because you have a longer post, does not mean you will receive a better grade.
I want this competition to be fun, not a ton of work for people. One of the reasons I upped the # of posts per objective to 15 is so that more posts could be made, posts could be shorter, and would possibly come at a more rapid pace.
As long as a post meets my criteria listed above, it will receive a decent score.
Here is a "guide" to help you understand my grading:
5 points - All criteria fulfilled, exceptional post.
4 points - Some descriptiveness lacking or minimal story progression
3 points - Descriptiveness lacking and minimal story progression
2 points - Lack of realism and/or very little story progression
1 point - Greater lack of realism, little to no story progression (pointless post)
0 points - No realism, no story progression (a big giant turd smeared on Comnet)
I expect the average post to come out around a 3-3.5 in this competition. I will most likely adjust my grading standards as needed to fit this expected value.NO PLACEHOLDERS, NO ASKING FOR DELETED POSTS (except duplicates)
Graphics - Graded on a scale of 0-5 points and must conform to ALL the criteria listed below. with extraordinary works eligible for up to 15 points. However, as Arnaut/Kand so articulated "Da Vinci only got a 13." The requirements for graphics are as follows:
- Must depict a scene from your storyline
- Must be an original work
- Cannot use MS paint, unless you have the skillz that payz the billz with it
- Must be of at least 6th grade quality
Any submission deemed to not adhere to these criteria will be deleted and graded a 0. However if that image was plagarized, the squad will be docked 5 points and the submitter will be banned from submitting anymore graphics. Additional punishment including fines and loss of rank may occur. To be clear, dropping text onto an image found on google
IS plagiarism. If the graphic combines multiple images and looks different than any of the originals, this will not be treated as plagiarism. It is not expected for images to be made from scratch, but put enough effort into it to be unique.
Gaming - In an effort to get people to play SW related games in this SW club, the points scale has been modified. (A SW game is any game published by Lucasarts). If there is a way get a game report or SS of a SW game played on X-Box live, it will count.
THERE WILL BE NO POINTS FOR POOL, BOWLING, GOLF, OR ANY OTHER YAHOO/SIMILAR GAMES.- OOC:
- If you have a problem with it, become the PC and run your competition however you see fit.

Gaming: 0.5-2 points (200 point cap)
As stated in the "Rules" section, bonus points can be earned by completing your objective in 15 or less posts. The bonus is determined by:
The raw score of the objective posts is divided by the number of posts, yielding the average. This is divided by ten and added to 1. This becomes the modifier. Your raw (unadjusted) score for that objective is then increased by the multiplier.
For example:
Raw Score - 49
Number of Posts - 14
Average - 3.5
(3.5/10)+1 = 1.35*49 = 66.15 = 66 points
Additionally, there will be bonus points awarded according to the following criteria:
10 or less posts = 15 bonus points
13 or less posts = 5 bonus points
14-15+ posts = 0 bonus points
So the above example would still earn 66 points. However, if they had completed their objective in 13 posts, they will receive 5 additional bonus, for a total of 71 points. The point of all this is?
The higher your quality, the better your score. However, even the best quality can be overcome overcome by coordinating posts and finishing under the the post limit. The goal is to inspire cooperation, communication, and coordination within a squad. By working together, a higher quality story can result, and everyone's writing improves.
Winning Squad is determined by the simple addition of all scores.
- OOC:
- I will keep a google docs spreadsheet of the scoring, and it will be available to your SLs/ASLs to view and give updates. Please PM me your e-mails so I can add you to the view list.
Awards/Commendations/PromotionsAll will be handled post competition. SLs, please do not recommend any promotions during the competition in your reports.

FAQI will update this section as questions come to me so everyone can see the answers.
Quote:Can members bring their own personal weapons/armor at the start of the mission
Yes, within reason. Squad equipment is there for a reason, not just for show. Please try to use it. However if you have a lucky pistol or knife, feel free to bring it. Large quantities of weapons will not be allowed and will detract from the quality of your writing score.
PERSONAL ARMOR WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.Final ThoughtsGood luck. I tried to be original with this competition to break you out from the typical squad stories. Please remember, this is all for fun so act accordingly.
