Prefect's Report

Enforcement of Proper Conduct

***Read this section thoroughly.

I feel that the proper expected behavior in the Corps has been lax over the last several months - more so in the last couple weeks. That changes as of right now. You should already be familiar with most of the following listed expectations - I do expect you to abide by them:

1) Praise In Public, Punish In Private
This has been an established rule since I joined the Vast Empire and, needless to say, it's been broken many times. This will be enforced. This club was created on the foundation of fun and enjoyment - I've had the privilege of experiencing that original concept. I've also had the unfortunate experience of watching the little dramas and minor political feuds grow into common problems both in the past and present times. In both cases, it makes our experience here a lot less enjoyable.

Bottom line: Do not intentionally offend anyone on ComNet or IRC. See something you disapprove of and want to voice your discontent? Send your issues to your superior or keep your mouth shut. Everyone has their own perspective, and not everyone views things the way you do.

Do you want to send a complaint? Contact an IRC moderator (if it's an IRC matter) and/or contact your superior. Do not take it in the main knowing of the possibility that it will explode into a situation that requires the reprimanding of both parties.

2) Respect your fellow troops
You don't need to like anyone here (although that is a positive), but you will respect them. By that I mean you will not slander/mock them in any way knowing very well that they may be offended by your remarks. This includes the following:

a. No more 'Palancer'/Paladin mocking remarks (or any statement that you know would offend a trooper of that squad). Granted, they've had a few wild stories, but this does not give anyone any right to disrespect them, their squad leader, or their members. No member of any squad would want to join the IRC and see people mocking their squad. It decreases morale, it increases frustration and anger, and it results in problems that eventually spread to other people that I eventually need to deal with. I've personally had enough of them.

b. Do not repeat insensitive remarks to other members. If they've stated that you're offending them - stop. Granted this does have certain exceptions: the request must be legitimate, and this can only be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, so discretion must be used. Some people flat out whine and/or don't know how to take a joke, I give you that, but this is a general order to not be an ass.

c. Rule 16 of the Code of Conduct: Don't be stupid - this applies to both the sender of the complaint and the receiver of the complaint.

3) Repercussions
Being an ass will result in various forms of punishment depending on the act. These repercussions can be in the form of being fined Imperial Credits, kicked/banned from IRC, and even dishonorable discharge from the Stormtrooper Corps.

IRC Moderators - you have been deemed responsible to uphold the CoC. You are expected to use the CoC rules of punishment when enforcing. In other words, if you're going to kick someone that's being very stupid (or any other type of inappropriate behavior), you are required to give them the proper warnings prior to kicking/banning them. Op abuse will result first in a warning, but repetitive observations of op abuse can and will result in the loss of your moderator privileges.

---------------------------------

These aren't "new rules". These are rules and common courtesies that have been preestablished even before I joined, and they will be obeyed.

The aforementioned rules/statements applies to both Army High Command members and troopers alike. If you can't stop being an ass or give someone the respect and courtesy they deserve, then you don't belong in any position that acts as a role model to new recruits and current members. Such ill-behavior will be noted, and I will not have any such behavior tolerated in any form of command/leadership position in this Corps. The Corps is supposed to be a fun and friendly environment. I intend to keep it that way.

If you do not agree with the above and choose not to follow them - well, there's the door. Don't let it hit you in the ass on your way out.

Corps Updates

WildCard/Storm Platoon Status/Updates

All squads from both platoons reported! Excellent job, guys - 6/6.

I'm sure most of you are aware by now that there is going to be a platoon competition starting up on the 24th of this month (someone may have to correct me if I'm wrong about that date), so mark your calendars and get prepared!

Also, your Platoon Commanders will soon be formulating a universal/general Squad Report format for you to use. At the moment, we have six squads that send in six different styles of the Squad Report. A universal one will be created and dispersed to you by your Platoon Commanders in order to make the format more "standard". More details on that will be coming soon.
