Korant 'flyboy' Borshan
Korant was born to a relatively poor family. His father was a mechanic down at the local spaceport and when Koran was old enough, he would visit his father. He remembered the first time he had entered the starport, he must have been about six or seven. So many various ships, so many designs. It amazed him just how such vessels could fly. He remembered watching them take off and fly past him. Listening to the sound of their engines and the feel of the air as the ships sailed overhead.
Korant could think of nothing so wonderful as being in a ship. So he had spent as much time with his father as possible. His father had started off by showing him the workings of the ships. It surprised Korant that despite there being different designs of ships, the internal workings of them were remarkable similar. He spent his years looking over the shoulder of his father and helping him when he could.
His father had taken him to the local air displays held every year on Corellia. Korant watched, fascinated as the ships flew overhead, performing variety of stunts. Korant's breath was sucked in as he watched the ships performing in front of his very eyes. He vowed that one day he would do just that.
At the age of fourteen, he had begged with his father to show him how to pilot ships. His father finally relented and started showing him how to fly a ship. Korant had been scared when he first took the controls of an old ship but he soon got the hang of it and was flying with ease at an early age.
At the age of sixteen, Korant remembered the constant arguments he had had with his mother. He was barely old enough to be allowed to participate in this years ship display but he begged and begged to be allowed to participate. His mother was reduced to tears knowing how dangerous it was. It hurt Korant to see his mother like this but his heart yearned to be up in the sky.
Finally his mother consented and Korant was allowed to fly. The other pilots had sneered at him, calling him a child and warning him he would die. He ignored them and their warnings were muted when he flew with precision. When he landed the pilots had nicknamed him flyboy. They went off to the local cantina and left Korant by himself.
Korant flew for the next two years in the air displays. Whilst they had been fun, Korant wanted more. On his way home he came across a flyer that asked for pilots to join the Vast Empire. He had pulled it off the wall and ran home, a sense of thrill and excitement coursing through him.
His parents pleaded with him not to go but he was aged eighteen and could do as he pleased. He wished them well and set off to join the rest of the pilots of the Vast Empire
== Personality ==
Essentially Korant prefers to work alone. He tends to shy away from large groups, preferring to keep himself to himself. Whilst some might call him a loner, he knows the need to work in a group and has done so during the flying display where he co-ordinated his routines with other pilots, but once the flying is over, he prefers to go back to being alone.
