== Character’s Background ==

Chir-da Var was raised during the end of the New Republic's war with the Empire. She had always had a love of the sky, and would travel with her parents, both of whom were traders. The Republic claimed they were smugglers and Empirical sympathizers, and had their ship confiscated and the pair thrown briefly into prison. After seeing and hearing about similar harassment of friends and family members, and having learned to fly from her parents, Chir-da has entered the Imperial Navy in order to free all those oppressed by the New Republic and grant them the freedom they had under the Empire.

== Personality ==

Chir-da has a good eye and pilot's reflexes. She is more of a listener than a talker, and keeps her personality rather hidden, knowing (if not understanding) the attraction that female Twi'lek's seem to have to other species. Though graceful, she would not consider herself a dancer. She believes she is capable to taking care of herself, but is much better at talking herself out of a situation than fighting, unless it's in a ship.

She has a fear of open water, and has found that the more time she spends in space, the less she enjoys being on land. She has heard of the teeming metropolis of Coruscant, and has said she would prefer to never go there, as she is afraid of the crush of people. She is happiest being with several people she can trust rather than large groups.

Low Speed Yoyo

When you have a good shot opportunity but are still too far from effective firing range, dive below the fighter's horizon in order to increase speed, then pull up an level off again. Because this increases the Area Off of Tail, it is often combined with a High Speed Yoyo in order to close distance more effectively.

Example of defensive maneuver:

Bathing regularly and wearing deodorant, especially if you've been in a flight suit for an extended period of time.

Split-S maneuver

A Split-S is a diving half-loop designed to shake off a persuer, and requires significant maneuvering space. The pilot executes a turn, while at the same time inverting the craft and going into a dive. Pull back on the stick until the fighter levels off and recover to flight level. This maneuver is less effective against missle fire, as missles have time to correct for altitude and speed.

Activity: This week I worked towards completing my Naval Academy training, reading up on offensive and defensive piloting maneuvers and what it means to be a member of a squadron. Investigated the site and began learning the prices of items available for purchase

Upcoming plans:  I plan on being assigned to a squadron, introducing myself and getting to know my wingmate, getting a Handle, and settling in to my new surroundings and perhaps obtaining a pet.
