Prefect's Report
1.11.2009
Greetings Troops. Today's Prefect's Report will be on the following topics:
Army Updates and
Holiday Squad Competition (HSC) 2008 Results.
*Army Updates*Position Updates
Gunnery Sergeant Yillis --> Commander of Training
Senior Sergeant Helena --> Raiders Squad LeaderSTC Academy UpdateHellgate renamed to Satus.
Motto changed to: We shall be worthy.
Drill Instructor/Training Adviser positions removed.
Squad ReportsPerhaps it was due to the end of an exhausting campaign, but there were some "iffy" squad reports this week! Storm Platoon was on top of things with 2/3 squads reporting in. I'm assuming Angel simply forgot to post Jester's report.

WildCard Platoon came in with 1/2 squads reporting in.
I'm going to assume that next week will have much better results now that things have settled down.
J'ak Frozt Plotline Follow-Up (Jester Squad)For all interested, Sergeant First Class Angel has asked permission to write a HSC plotline "follow-up/run-on" for Jester squad. This plot line will delve deeper into the HSC story, and the Jesters will be investigating who exactly was "behind it all" and will hopefully be answering questions such as "Who are those two unidentified Imperial VSD's loyal to?" and "How did Frozt obtain such a large mercenary force and how did he manage to get four Noghri to escort him?"
You may read up on their venture here:
http://comnet.imperialnetwork.com/topic/11776/AWOL Check! There's a Storm Platoon AWOL Check going on and lasting until
Friday, January 16th. Be sure to post your attendance here:
http://comnet.imperialnetwork.com/topic/11787/I'm sure WildCard Platoon will be starting one shortly as well.
Depending on how many AWOL members there are, we may be re-opening Iron Horse soon.
Assistant Squad Leader: ExpectationsAs of late, the position of Assistant Squad Leader has been redefined as a position that is, literally, second-in-command of the Squad. The position is still, however, a place where a trooper can gain leadership experience.
When we (Command) begin looking for potential Squad Leaders, our eyes first glance over the ASLs since they are the ones with the most experience under their belt. As such, these individuals must be willing to move up in position. The primary point of being an ASL is to gain leadership experience for the glorious day of becoming a Squad Leader herself/himself. So, if you know that you are not going to want to become a Squad Leader, then do not make plans on becoming an Assistant Squad Leader because that position should be reserved for individuals who want/are willing to become future SLs.
If you are currently an ASL and do not plan on becoming a Squad Leader, then you should take it upon yourself to step down from that position and let another attempt a path of leadership.
***NOTE: The statement may come up with "What if I want to, someday, become the SL of my own squad? I should be able to stay as my squad's ASL." - The ASL position alone will not guarantee you any SL position. The ASLs are essentially the First-String of people we look at when considering potential Squad Leaders. A Trooper may be chosen over an Assistant Squad Leader over a Squad Leader position - it all depends on how much leadership, maturity, and experience that individual has. If you want to become a leader within your own squad, then take it upon yourself to establish communication with your Squad Leader and make it known to them (and your PC) that you wish to remain in and elevate within that squad.
Code of Conduct - New Years Resolution!I've said before that I was going to crack down on the language in the main and, frankly, I haven't. My bad there. :P However, it's the beginning of the new year and this time I'm going to follow what I've said before.
The language in the main, as of late, has gotten a lot better, so I'm very happy about that. However, just a reminder to everyone: I
will be cracking down on the language (giving the standard 3-warning-kicks), etc. I am also going to expect that my Senior Officers and Command Staff (those with moderator status in the main) will follow my lead as well.
