Cover Tactics-



Zippy has had a good time so far at the academy, but it has all come down to this. It is time for the heavy weapons training test. Today Zippy will be attending a new class with other trainees.

"Well I hope this is going to be easy," Zippy said to himself.

As he entered the class he was in shock. There was only eight other people in there with him. As he started moving toward a seat another student came up to him and said hello.

"My name is Ron. I'm training to be a Heavy Weapons specialist. How about you?"

"Same here. My name is Zippy."

"Well at least I made one new friend. I hope we'll do some of the cover tactics with each other sometime."

"That would be cool. Then I won't feel like I have to one to work with if I ever have to partner up with someone."

As they were just finishing up talking, the teacher walked in.

"Good morning class, and please take your seats, for we must get started right away. I'm training officer Todd Cloud. I will be your teacher here and your grading officer here. Now before we begin, does anyone have any questions?, no, well then lets get started. Now, does anyone know what a 'charge' is?"

Zippy quickly raised his hand. He knew that this question was going to pop up because he had been studying for this for a while now.

"Yes"

"A charge is either a small round device that detonates when it sparks or two sticks of dynamite with a timer in it. Primarily used for blowing up enemy bombardments and blowing up heavy weaponry," Zippy said.

"Very good." Now Can anyone else explain what cover tactics is?"

Ron raised his hand really fast and was called on.

"Cover Tactics is one of the reasons why we are here today and it is used for covering your fellow troopers in battle and for blowing up the enemy weapons. It consists of certain maneuvers which are also used in this drill."

"Again, very good. Class, today that is what we are doing. I'm excited to see what all of you got so lets head outside to the training field."

"Sir yes sir," everyone said as they headed outside.

"I hope you and I are assigned to work together in this drill Zippy," Ron said as they ran to the field with the others.

"That would be cool."

All the trainees including Zippy lined up in three lines.

"I'm going to show you the layout of what you are doing on your communication links."

Zippy's com link quickly quickly blinked and it showed a map of a small area not far from here.

"You will be working in teams of three on this drill. Your objective is destroy the remains of several AT-ST. Once you have done that, you must navigate through a field of blaster stun fire while performing the maneuver TX- break. You must run, duck and roll. Its fairly simple maneuver and must be done right. Everyone pair up and move out. You all have different colors that your assigned to and a location."

Everyone paired up and to Zippys surprise, he was with Ron and one other trainee.

"Lets get moving," Zippy said as they ran into the field.

Once they got to their assigned area, they started to do their jobs quickly and precisely.

"Set the charge, and blow this thing," Ron said.

Zippy and the other trainee provided cover fire from some probe droids that tried to prevent them from doing the job. Zippy felt nervous though when he was shooting at them. It seemed like the entire life of his flashed by every time he was in a battle, probably knowing that this could be his last.

Once that was done, it was time to head into the "stun field" and do the maneuver which they were assigned to do. The terrain was unbarrable. There was so much debris, rocks, trees, and stuff that it was almost impossible to run through.

"Don't worry about the field, this is how its supposed to look. Just keep focused." Todd said over the com link.

"Everyone start the maneuver and start running!" Zippy yelled out.

Zippy quickly Ran, ducked and rolled just as Todd told him to and they kept proceeding on. Zippy kept thinking that he would probably get a bad grade because of he wasn't doing it right or he didn't work with his team well enough. Zippy and Ron worked so well together, that they both ducked behind objects like trees and rocks at the same time. The down side was that the other trainee had already gotten hit and was on the ground motionless. Zippy thought he was dead, but quickly realized that it was just stun fire. He would be fine in time.

The blaster fire just kept coming from the battlements that were just up ahead, and the droids that were shooting the stun fire were really ticking Zippy off. He knew though, as well as Ron that they were going to have to trick the droids somehow.

"Go left and I'll go right!" Zippy yelled out behind some blown up rocks.

"Ok."

As they split in different directions, the two droids weren't that stupid. One turned and shot at Ron, and the other turned and shot at Zippy. Zippy quickly executed the maneuver and rolled a ways until he was right next to the battlement. Zippy and Ron quickly placed two charges and blew up the battlement with the two droids still inside.

Zippy and Ron were out of breath by the time they were done.

"Well I must say that you two did very good in this drill, however you blew up a battlement which wasn't supposed to be blown up and that could result in causing attention to other enemy's in battle. Keep that in mind.
You both will get the results you want momentarily. Please proceed back to the classroom for debriefing."

"Understood," they said.


I have once again edited some of it but I myself don't think this is quite done, but I have been dying to graduate since day 1. This website means the world to me but every time I try to do go at it, I get critisized for doing something wrong or not right. If this doesn't work then there is no way I will graduate.
