Hello there, Crewman. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Blue-Leader, I will be your trainer whilst you are here at the academy. We will be helping you through Basic Training, commonly called Flight School, FS, BT, or the Academy. Flight School is composed into three chapters, Chapter One: Character Development, Chapter Two: Pilot Procedure, Chapter Three: The Squadron, and last but not least, the Aviator's Exam. Once you have finished and been passed on these Chapters we will place you into one of the active squadrons. Lets start with the basics - Chapter One. You need to make a biography for your character (Good examples are Jegora Fal's and Ibram Tyrol's Biographies.) Once you have finished your biography you may post it on this topic. But remember - your biography is only a rough sketch of your character and should be expanded when given the time. If you have any questions, catch any member of the staff around IRC or send them a PM (Personal Message). Now, if you have any questions, or if you want to meet any of our other members you can hop onto IRC (Internet Relay Chat), or you may send any member of the staff a PM (Personal Message). There are many other communications methods for reaching the staff in that page as well. Once you have finished Basic Training, you shall be placed into one of the active squadrons. Catch you around sometime, Crewman.

Character Biography: Cyrus StoneHeart Biographical Information:Homeworld: Unknown Age: 22 Species: Human Gender: Male Skin color: Slightly tanned Height: 6'1 Weight: 185 lbs. Hair color: Bright reddish, brown under layer Eye color: Hazel/Sunburst orange surrounding pupil of the eye. Appearance:Cyrus is a well built individual with not many flaws as far as physical features. The man stands at the height of 6'1, and carries himself very well on average. Cyrus' hair is a bright reddish, containing an under layer brown; this is usually cut at a longer length than most, reaching the shoulders and most times even further. The color of his eyes is most often hazel, but with a sunburst of orange surrounding the pupil of the eye. Casual clothing usually consists of a regular pair of slacks and a t-shirt when not in uniform for duty. Physical Weaknesses: Cyrus' left knee is engorged due to a blow of some sort, but the happenings of it are unknown. A lack of mobility can sometimes be seen during running or regular exercising, but is usually not noticeable during any other time. Personality: Cyrus is a very withdrawn individual, one that you could call anti-social. He doesn't feel as though he needs to voice his opinion about most situations, but when the subject at hand requires his attention, his words can mark concern in his utmost beliefs. StoneHeart takes well to authority; usually not speaking back to his superiors, and following his orders immediately, and as correctly as possible once they are given. A very quiet person most of the time, but placed in a certain comfortable atmosphere, the man easily opens up to those around him. Personal History:Most of Cyrus' past is concealed. All memories and information before the age of seventeen were carelessly wiped away; he still has no recollection of how the event even came to be. But, this much is known - Cyrus is of Corellian decent, and has amazing piloting skills. After discovering this untapped skill, he quickly joined CorSec as a regular pilot. Five years into his service, he decided to quit the job and take up his career as a Imperial Pilot within the the Vast Empire faction. He was immediately placed as a crewman at the Naval Academy in the Vectra System, on the planet of Abrae.

The Split SThe Split-S is one of the harder maneuvers to pull off when in an engagement. It requires that you have a high altitude and a lot of area to maneuver - reason being, you could end up not being able to pull yourself out of the dive, and end up dead. First, you must invert the aircraft by going into a barrel roll. Immediately thereafter, the aircraft must be pushed into a hard dive. Your aircraft will immediately gain speed you move deeper into the dive, but you must not forget to pull up soon afterwords. After leveling the craft out, you will be going in an opposite direction, and will be at a much lower altitude than before, leaving you free to be creative with where you go from there. This defensive maneuver can be used to quickly disengage an enemy, especially in a close range engagement when you don't have much to work with, but be careful; if the enemy has missiles on board, a lock could easily be achieved. The Barrel Roll AttackThis maneuver can be used to alter the angle of your engagement on an enemy, especially when you believe that you may overshoot your target. First, the pilot must roll the craft level. Although this may seem like a bad decision if following an enemy through a large turn, it is not. Once level, the pilot must roll in the opposite direction, making the enemy pilot believe you are also attempting to disengage, but there is a catch - you're not. You're just created a little space between the two of you so that you may have a larger area to work with when pursuing the enemy. Immediately after rolling left, the pilot must roll the craft hard to the right, maintaining the same altitude as the enemy, and slide in right behind the flight path of the enemy fighter. Missiles may be used if you've got enough room to get a lock, or you may now move in and switch to guns to engage the enemy fighter.

Cyrus StoneHeart Report - 11/23/08 Activity: This week I've posted on the Viper Squadron story thread three times. I've also been making contributions to my character profile on the VE Wiki, and it seems to be coming along very nicely. I've been active on the IRC channels nearly every day. I've also played two games of XWA and three matches of Jedi Outcast against some members I met on the IRC. Upcoming Plans: I will post on the squadron story thread as much as possible, and keep up the activity I have been showing thus far. Hopefully I'll be able to game a little bit more than last week also. Questions/Suggestions: Have a small gaming competition sometime. Maybe on the weekend?
