Hello there, Crewman.
Allow me to introduce myself, I am Sovern, I will be your trainer whilst you are here at the academy. We will be helping you through Basic Training, commonly called Flight School, FS, BT, or the Academy. Flight School is composed into three chapters, Chapter One: Character Development, Chapter Two: Pilot Procedure, Chapter Three: The Squadron, and last but not least, the Aviator's Exam. Once you have finished and been passed on these Chapters we will place you into one of the active squadrons.
Lets start with the basics - Chapter One. You need to make a biography for your character (Good examples are Jegora Fal's and Ibram Tyrol's Biographies.) Once you have finished your biography you may post it on this topic. But remember - your biography is only a rough sketch of your character and should be expanded when given the time. If you have any questions, catch any member of the staff around IRC or send them a PM (Personal Message).
Now, if you have any questions, or if you want to meet any of our other members you can hop onto IRC (Internet Relay Chat), or you may send any member of the staff a PM (Personal Message). There are many other communications methods for reaching the staff in that page as well. Once you have finished Basic Training, you shall be placed into one of the active squadrons.

Physical Build: Athletic, toned. A little bit of extra weight on the tummy. She calls it 'pillow pudge', but it isn't fat. Just a small bit of extra flub over the abdominal area.

== Background History ==
Being born on Naboo, of course Amby would be a great swimmer. That skill doesn't only come with her planet but with her race as well. Ever since she was a small little Gungan, she's loved the water. She kind of has to. She's amphibious after all. But... there's was always just something missing when it came to the water. The weight of it all. She needed to feel weightless. And this is where her love for the sky developed. When on land, she'd sit with her older brother and work with him on random tidbits of junk that he'd buy from merchants and teach her to built or tinker (which is where her engineering skill came from) and she's talk about flying with him. He'd of course discourage it, being a full on believer of staying on the land or in the water, but Amby wouldn't have it. She wanted to fly. And one day she would. And so... finally, after years of self-training, whether it was technical training, or battle training, she decided to join the Navy and see where the Naval Academy brought her. Finally... this Gungan is away from the water and can fly.
== Character's Personality ==
Amby is a bit of a dreamer. She tends to keep to herself and is rather quiet, but she does have her social outbursts when she'll be load and likable. Maybe some times aggravating. She takes orders well, despite her mind not always liking them very much. Having been diagnosed with a multiple-personality syndrome, she tends to speak to her own, not out loud of course, but if she gets on those thoughtful expressions on... that's what's happening most likely. Oh and she's opinionated. VERY opinionated. She isn't sacred to speak her mind... where it's appropriate of course. OH and along with the multi-personality comes some pretty horrid anger issues.

My AssignmentThe Barrel RollThe Barrel Roll is one of the most basic maneuvers for any pilot to execute. This action can be used both offensively and defensively. But both sides of the action need timing in order to execute the maneuver properly and without error.
The offensive side of this particular maneuver is rather simple. The error can be corrected simply, and the maneuver itself is not too difficult. If one is in pursuit of an enemy but one is going too fast, all that is required is to turn the ship sharply, and fix the pitch of the nose. Doing this allows the ship to ship to turn around a central access (which is determined by the pitch of the nose of the ship) and allows one to 'bleed speed' and stops one from over shooting their target and putting themselves in the fire envelope of their enemy. The defensive side of this maneuver is also simple, but this requires much more precise timing. If an enemy is pursuing you, the same action that is used in the offensive side of this maneuver must be used. The ship must be turned slightly, then the pitch fixed to rotate about a central axis. But one needs to time this very well, or you will give the enemy opportunities to shoot at your tail without fail if the timing of your barrel roll is off at all.The ImmelmanThis maneuver is neither offensive or defensive. This is simply a maneuver that allows one to gain altitude and change direction at a quick pace.
For one to execute this particular move, one will be flying at a lower altitude. Then, one will pull back on the stick in order to pitch the nose up. The ship would now be perpendicular to the ground. Then, while still climbing in height, one will roll the ship. The direction of the roll determines the direction that one will be going once they pull out of the immelman maneuver. Once you are at your wanted altitude, fix the pitch of the nose of the ship i order to once again be parallel with the ground and flying in your chosen direction.

Activity: This week I have been reading up on the Pilot Procedures as well as any of the tactical maneuvers that one must know in order to be an efficient pilot with in the VEN. I am in the process of completing my training in BT and I am also in the process of writing my first story.
Upcoming Plans: Next week I plan to have completed all of my BT. I will have completed my first story by then. And I also have plans to begin construction on a graphic for whatever squadron I end up being placed in. I also plan on joining in what ever story is available and allows new posts.
