Hello there bud!

My name is Stormz, and I am the Lead Operator of the Vast Empire Naval Academy. I, along with C-3PX2 (Naval Training Officer) and Blue-Leader (Operator) will guide you through your trainining period. If you have any questions at all, simply leave your them here.

To get you started, I'm going to direct you to the flight school page where most of the training materials are kept.

This can be found here.

To begin your training, you must create a character in which you will use in the VE. Clicking on the link above directs you to flights school. once there, click on Chapter 1 entitled Character Development.

Before going to Flight School, you may want to give Imperial Initiation (II) a quick read - it gives a short, simple, and to the point introduction to life as a pilot in the star wars universe.

Once you have followed the instructions set out in Chapter 1, please post it here for marking, and we can advance you along to the next stage.

During your training, I also recommend you get onto IRC (Or Internet Relay Chat). Most of the Vast Empire's active members frequent the IRC channels, so you will be able to find many friends and possibly a mentor in this place. To get onto IRC, either follow the "JavaChat" link from the main page (It's in the left hand column) or download an IRC client (e.g. mIRC) and follow the instructions in the MainComnet forum.

Personality

Alex is somewhat shy upon first introductions. Although shy and short by normal human standards, Alex walks with an heir of confidence to him. Going along those lines, as he becomes more familiar with you and your personal interests, Strickler becomes quite the chatterbox. You will find that Alex has a good sense of humor and doesn't get worked up over many things. However, he isn't good at holding his anger after you have pushed him too far.

History

Alex grew up on Honoghr with the dreaded Noghri race. His mother abandoned him just after infancy. During his childhood, Alex learned many things ranging from stealth and stalking to hunting and shooting a blaster with lethal precision. If he wasn't to be found studying the finer arts of warfare, the human could be found helping to restore the land which had been ruined when the Sith bombarded the planets surface. Due to this, Alex has a decent amount of knowledge in agriculture and biology.

When Darth Vader came to Honoghr for the first time, Alex remembered being required to stay at the camp. For they did not want him to receive special attention due to him being a human. It wasn't until many years after the Battle of Endor that Alex got up the courage to leave the planet. He directed his small craft toward the Vast Empire's Naval outpost where he stands today.

Chapter 2

The Sandwich

The sandwich requires a wingman. Let's say a bogey get's on your six. By requesting support from said wingman, he would pull up behind the bogey causing the bogey to be trapped between two allied fighters. Hence the name "sandwich"

Break Turn

The break turn is used to turn sharply in order to gain an advantage of your target. In order to perform this maneuver, you must pitch your craft sideways and pull back on the yoke causing you to turn at an alarming pace.

Activity: So far tonight, I have joined the Vast Empire. Created a biography of my character, and posted chapter 2 where I learned different maneuvers that could be used during combat.
