Hello Crewman, My name is Stormz, and I am the Lead Operator of the Vast Empire Naval Academy. I, along with C-3PX2 (Naval Training Officer),Ibram Tyrol (Training Executive Officer), and Blue-Leader (Operator) will guide you through your trainining period. If you have any questions at all, simply leave your them here. To get you started, I'm going to direct you to the flight school page where most of the training materials are kept. This can be found here. To begin your training, you must create a character in which you will use in the VE. Clicking on the link above directs you to flights school. once there, click on Chapter 1 entitled Character Development. Before going to Flight School, you may want to give Imperial Initiation (II) a quick read - it gives a short, simple, and to the point introduction to life as a pilot in the star wars universe. Once you have followed the instructions set out in Chapter 1, please post it here for marking, and we can advance you along to the next stage. During your training, I also recommend you get onto IRC (Or Internet Relay Chat). Most of the Vast Empire's active members frequent the IRC channels, so you will be able to find many friends and possibly a mentor in this place. To get onto IRC, either follow the "JavaChat" link from the main page (It's in the left hand column) or download an IRC client (e.g. mIRC) and follow the instructions in the MainComnet forum. Once again, on behalf of the VENA, welcome the Navy, we hope you enjoy your stay. P.S.: Hopefully we will change that Lead Operator Stormz

Name: Drak Age: 22 Height: 6'3" Gender: Male Species: Human Home Planet: NA (see below) Drak was born on the starship Vendeta. He was born on board from a minor political leader, whom was assassinated shortly after his birth. Shelo Drak, took a liking to infant-drak and adopted him. He was raised in the command center, and loved it. When he was five, he would sit in the command center for hours on end, doing nothing but watching. He loved every part of space piloting, and tried his hand at it too. But, found that he could not resist fixing, and building the droids and machines onboard, and took up engineering. He always wanted to join the navy, and recently Shelo's death prompted him to do so. Drak is tall and muscular. Through he is tall, he seems to be invisible, if that suites him. He has several scars on his back from his work in fixing droids.A long, jagged scar reaches from his left cheek bone to his right eyebrow. He has dark-brown hair which he keeps short cropped. Drak is adept at using any situation to his advantage. He is very charismatic, and always seems to know what to say at the right times. He likes to talk, and often makes other people want to talk to him. He is kind, but thinks logically. To him, every thought, action and idea can be formulated and reasoned. He is trustworthy unless it will be harmful to him, and he has no problem with turning his back on a friend if it means it will give him a leg up.

The High Speed Yo-Yo
This maneuver is used to get the bandit in a more tactical position (for you) and into your firing range without him being in yours. Using this maneuver, you could easily get a missile lock on the bandit, or take them out with a cannon or blasters. But, you have such a good, close shot, cannons might be preferable, as you would not have to waste any of your missiles. To enter a high speed yo-yo, preform a relaxed turn, then pull up. When at the peek arch (depending on the distance between your original position and that of the desired position, but it should be taken into account that if you can manage the speed to get higher, you will be more above them instead of being at their starboard/port. But if you gather to much speed, you may pass over or crash into the bandit, though the later is highly unlikely.) Once, at the peek, invert and slide down onto the bandit.
The Spilt-S
This is a defencive maneuver, used to lose altitude while gaining speed. After the maneuver is preformed, a large, vertical reverse might be initiated (by the defender) and to switch the positions. This maneuver is only effective against cannon fire and blaster fire though, missiles can dive and turn with out running out of gas for long enough to continue following the target, but it may be used against missile locks. To begin a Split-S, turn and invert by barrel rolling. This will cause you to gain speed, and when at the desired level, level out. As noted above, a vertical reverse would now put you behind your attacker, opening numerous oppurtunities...

Mock Report:
This week i have been writing on story called 'Expedition to Kashyyyk'. In this story, my wingman and i have gone to Kashyyyk on a sort of check up mission, very routine. Once we arrive, we send our codes to the starship, but get nothing back. We wait a hour or so sending them every five or so minuets. Now we begin to get worried. We fly up to the starboard flank, and see the air lock open! This alarms us, so we manuelly dock to the air lock and enter with our air helmets still on. Luckily, it seems that the secondary airlock door is closed. We pry open the door and almost through up. Lying infront of us, is a dead body of a crew member.
His face and limbs were covered with green, oozing pustules. His eyes, half open, were tited red-yellow. All his hair had fallen out. A masive cyst bulged from his hand, cracking the skin. We had stumbled upon some lethal virus. Thats all we've written some far. Also, i am beggining a story with another in the squad, but we havent started yet.

Greetings Crewman, My name is Ibram Tyrol, I'm the Executive Training Officer here at the academy. (Second in command, if you will.) I'd just like to say well done on your training so far. Since Stormz, your normal trainer, can't be online at this time, I'm going to pass you on Chapter II, and direct you to the final phase of your training. Aviator's ExamThis is a simple test to ascertain your general knowledge and willingness to participate in the VE. Don't worry though, It is only as hard as you make it. Feel free to ask someone for help if you get stuck. Carry on, and good luck

Oh yeah, one more thing:
Once you have completed it, please either pm it to your trainer Stormz, or myself for marking. Once completed, you will be placed in a squadron and given your grade.
