Hello Crewman X-Factor,

My name is Stormz, and I am the Lead Operator of the Vast Empire Naval Academy. I, along with C-3PX2 (Naval Training Officer), Ibram Tyrol (Training Executive Officer), and Blue-Leader (Operator)  will guide you through your training period. If you have any questions at all, simply leave your them here.

To get you started, I'm going to direct you to the flight school page where most of the training materials are kept.

This can be found here.

To begin your training, you must create a character in which you will use in the VE. Clicking on the link above directs you to flights school. once there, click on Chapter 1 entitled Character Development.

Before going to Flight School, you may want to give Imperial Initiation (II) a quick read - it gives a short, simple, and to the point introduction to life as a pilot in the star wars universe.

Once you have followed the instructions set out in Chapter 1, please post it here for marking, and we can advance you along to the next stage.

During your training, I also recommend you get onto IRC (Or Internet Relay Chat). Most of the Vast Empire's active members frequent the IRC channels, so you will be able to find many friends and possibly a mentor in this place. To get onto IRC, either follow the "JavaChat" link from the main page (It's in the left hand column) or download an IRC client (e.g. mIRC) and follow the instructions in the Main Comnet forum.

Once again, on behalf of the VENA, welcome the Navy, we hope you enjoy your stay.

Name: Jasin Danube
Age: 21
Position: Imperial Naval Recruit (CRW)

Appearance:

Standing at about 5' 11'', Jasin is the slightly above average height of a Human male. His light blue eyes make his skin seem just as dark, tan with specs of light blonde hair. Rounded cheeks give the impression of his early childhood, with the tormenting shouts of the word "fat". Jasin is not skinny, but not plump either. Platinum blonde hair give the rest of his body an offset appearance, as if to say it does not belong. In reality, his hair is dyed. When not in firm fitting uniform, he finds himself wearing loose clothing, as to keep his own confidence at a high state.

Personality / Emotional:

Though his lack of pride in himself is low, he is still open to most, and socializes when the time is necessary. When performing tasks set to him by his authority figures, he sets his mind to them, and does not waste any time mingling. Since his childhood, he has been tormented about his weight, and even when he lost the weight, he still can hears the laughs and giggles given to him as a sign of "loose skin", or at least he feels. Otherwise he is as comfortable with himself as anyone else would be.

He tends to get emotional when things become hard, and seem impossible. Although within reasons, he tends to ignore those who try to help him. Not as to say that he doesn't want the help, but he does not want to seem weak.

Experience / Skills:

Fixing Basic Electronics
Knows a little bit about Lasers

History:

Born into existence as an orphan. He had no true Mother nor Father. Jasin lived on Levius Prime, with seventeen other children, in the Draco Orphanage. Their "Den Mother" was a plump of a woman whom would make the children fix things around the house, and not stop until they figured it out. As children they were placed into one single room to sleep in. Mats on the floor, with no blankets for the cold nights. One single bathroom, which was never working. One single old age light bulb, which only worked if you set a plutonium chip next to it.

All in all, life at the Orphanage was no picnic. As Jasin grew older, he felt a sense of deprived from everyone. He began to wonder what other kids his age would grow up to be. Why couldn't he have that chance to live? The Orphanage always had yearly dinners, where adoption agencies would come to pick out one special boy or girl to take to their facility. Jasin knew that this was his chance to get out.

As the night of the dinner came upon him, he made an attempt to discourage the other children. He knew it was wrong, but he saw no other way to leave the dreadful place.

Unsuccessful, he puts on his best attire, and combed what hair he could out of his eyes. As the "trustees" as the Den Mother called them, arrived, he stood straight up, and the first thing he saw was not just the two adults, but also a young girl. By the looks of her she seemed well put together, and had everything she wanted.

As they grew closer there were children all over pushing to be seen first. Even Jasin was pushing one of his only friends out of the way just to get the chanced to be picked.

In the end, he was not chosen. But, in a way that did not discourage him.

It was now Eleven years later, and the Den Mother had no chance of making any more children grow up, she decided to send Jasin out into the world, to find his parents, and discover himself. The only thing that kept him from doing so, was the outside world, had grown far beyond anything Jasin could of imagined. So, he set out for new hopes and dreams...

Excellent work X! I love the Bio, it is well written and gives a good picture of your character.

You may move on to Chapter II, please post the assignment here when you have completed it.

Barrel Roll:

In all basics, it is maneuvering a flight vehicle to either to reduce velocity, or claim advantage on a foe, by rolling the vehicle on a single axes in a "barrel" motion.

Reasons:

1. If the pilot is flying at a faster velocity than his/her foe, he/she can perform the barrel role in order to achieve maximum reduced velocity.

2. To avoid enemy fire, one could use the barrel role to out run the fire. Although this is not the most efficient way, it does seem to prove positive results.

The Immelman:

Is used to gain altitude, and change direction by the use of rapid thrust.

Reasons:

1. If receiving new orders, or coordinates, use The Immelman to quickly regain corrective direction.

2. To gain a slight advantage against a foe, by pitching then inverting, then rolling just enough to gain the same direction as an enemy. (Only used when an Enemy has performed The Immelman.)

Sorry for the late reply, I have been gone. (Why hasn't another trainer graded this?). Anyway, loved it. Onto Chapter III.
