History
He had no family, no friends, all he had was the jungle of Yavin 4. How you ask did his parents die? His Mother died giving birth to him, and his father was killed in a hunting accident when he was 12, no one knows how exactly. The one thing that kept him alive and fighting was the hope that one day he would join the Empire and be a part of the epic tales his father had told him.

    Soon enough that one day had come during a firefight between Imperial Troopers and Rebels Soldiers. It was in the jungle close to the area where he lived. The night was cold and the constant pouring rain had made it even colder for him. He had awoken to the sounds of blaster fire the constant screams of a man or two, and the shouting of orders. He quickly dressed himself in the warmest clothing he had and ran out of his cottage which was built into the tree, and slid down the quick escape which was just a vine that was tied to the cottage itself. When he reached the scene of the commotion he saw around 100 Stormtroopers and 3 Imperial AT-ST walkers fighting against oncoming Rebel Troops, when one of the rebels fell 4 more would take their place. The air had reeked of blood and burnt flesh. By now a by standing Imperial Officer, who was shouting orders a moment ago, had noticed the young 15 year old and had ran over to him. The fight had intensified more Rebels were coming and pushing back the Imperial forces. “Boy what are you doing here” the Officer screamed, so as to be heard over the thunder, rain, and Gunfire. Van didn’t answer; he couldn’t answer for his father had never taught him that much before his death. The Officer noticed his cloths and the way he looked and understood instantly that he couldn’t understand. So the officer motioned for him, to follow. They ran back to the safety of the ranks of Stormtroopers, whose numbers had just been bolstered by a landing ship that had brought more soldiers and another AT-ST. The officer motioned for the landing ship to wait. He brought the boy on board and grabbing his shoulders and looking at the filthy boy said “Wait here, your safe now.” He motioned for the boy to sit down and when the boy did the Officer grabbed the safety belt and strapped the boy in. The landing cruiser had taken him up to the Star Destroyer that had awaited the return of the craft so they could load more troops and unload the “cargo”.
    He later found out that the ship was named Imperial Arsenal and that the captain that had saved him from that battle and that planet had died and hour after Van had left and the Imperial forces were defeated due to the overwhelming forces of the rebels.
     Now he is 18, he speaks fluently, his body is strong his muscles are taut, he is neat and clean. He had been given the choice of joining the Stormtrooper Corps. or the Imperial Navy. He chose the Navy because of that first ship ride he had years ago and because he didn’t want to end up like the brave Officer that had saved him, killed by a stray blaster shot.

Flight Maneuvers

The Immelman
The Immelman is neither an offensive nor a defensive maneuver; the Immelman is used to gain speed and altitude. By tilting the nose up and climbing, then executing a half a loop to change the direction you are going. How far you make the loop determines what direction you will head. Once you level out your wings you perform another roll to make the space craft up right again.

The Split-S
The Split-S is a maneuver that is used when a pilot wants to disengage from a threat. This is a maneuver that is meant for high altitudes around several thousand feet up above ground. When making a turn, invert yourself by rolling, and then you want to immediately pull back on the stick so that you go into a dive. The aircraft will quickly gain speed so you want to keep pulling back on the stick until you level out. This maneuver is very useful at getting you out of the enemies’ gun range, but the maneuver is almost entirely ineffective at getting you out of a missile’s range.
