Hello Scorpio,

My name is Stormz, and I am an operator of the Vast Empire Naval Academy. I, along with Ibram Tyrol and C-3PX2 will guide you through your trainining period. If you have any questions at all, simply leave your question(s) here.

To get you started, I'm going to direct you to the flight school page where most of the training materials are kept.

This can be found here.

To begin your training, you must create a character in which you will use in the VE. Clicking on the link above directs you to flights school. once there, click on Chapter 1 entitled Character Development.

Before going to Flight School, you may want to give Imperial Initiation (II) a quick read - it gives a short, simple, and to the point introduction to life as a pilot in the star wars universe.

Once you have followed the instructions set out in Chapter 1, please post it here for marking, and we can advance you along to the next stage.

During your training, I also recommend you get onto IRC (Or Internet Relay Chat). Most of the Vast Empire's active members frequent the IRC channels, so you will be able to find many friends and possibly a mentor in this place. To get onto IRC, either follow the "JavaChat" link from the main page (It's in the left hand column) or download an IRC client (e.g. mIRC) and follow the instructions in the MainComnet forum.

Appearance:
Scorpio is around 6"5 and weighs about 200 lbs. He has a medium body type not to thin and not real toned you can see a bit of muscle. He has short brown hair and blue eyes. He has a lighter skin complexion and a scar that goes through his left eye.

Personality:
Scorpio loves to joke around with his friends and squad mates when not on duty. When they are on duty however Scorpio is very serious. Even in the worst of times he remains calm. Though he is not very strong he is very smart and he uses his brain to help in the worst spots.

History:
Scorpio was raised on Coruscant by his father and mother. His father was a Senate guard who liked to drink. His mother was a kind waitress at a fancy club. Scorpio had a pretty normal childhood. He spent most of his time around his uncle's repair shop. This is were he learned that he loved star ships and he started piloting and repairing them at age 10. When he was 16 his father now just a jobless slob was very drunk and attacked his mom. Scorpio tried to defend her and got a gut through his left eye by his fathers vibroblade. His father then killed Scorpio's mom and left. Scorpio went and lived with his uncle. When he was 18 Scorpio found and killed his father. He then left coruscant and joined a frieghter crew. Three years later he discovered his true calling... to be an imperial pilot.

I liked the bio. The history will probably need to be expanded a bit. I did had one problem with it though, nothing major.

1) When you were 16 the year was 4 ABY. The Senate Guards were members of the Republic Senate, the Republic Senate was disillusioned in 0 ABY.

I don't know if your father was still a senate guard at that time, you should probably explain that. You should probably add to your history as well. Anyway, I liked the bio, there is almost no spelling errors.

Ok Scorpio, I see that you have edited out your bio. The end will probably need to be expanded sometime in the future.

The Barrel Role:
The barrel role manuver can be used both offinsivly and definsivly. Offinsively the barrel role is used to slow down your fighter if you are coming up on your enemy to quickly. Deffencively the barrel role is used to make your attacker miss you when they fire at you. To do the barrel role you must roll slightly and apply pitch to your fighter.

The Verticle Reverse:
The verticle reverse manuver is used when you want to diengage an enemy or when you want to give your opponent a heads-on discouragement. This manuver is performed by fliying straight up and when you loose speed then you rudder around into a steep dive until your speed increases a lot. This manuver is hard to do because of the low speeds and is done best by the Harrier, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the F-5 Tiger II.

Congrats, Scorpio on passing Chapter II of Flight School. Besides from a few spelling errors it was great. Now onto Chapter III, the assignment is in 'Reports', and the standard report templates may be found here. Once you have written your report in that form post it here please.
