Brightstar stared at the growing dot in the viewport. Suddenly her good mood had vanished and her suspicions were confirmed. Mygeeto. Bright gave an involuntary shudder but she couldn't tear her eyes away from the planet looming ever closer. She gripped her seat with her cybernetic hand and clenched her teeth together with such force that her jaw hurt. Her breath became short and somehow ragged and she could feel the cold iron fist of fear take hold of her insides.
Ironic, really. Bright thought tightly.
I'd gotten so used to striking fear in the hearts of others that I had forgotten what it was like to fear. It was hard for the warrior woman to admit even to herself that she was afraid of landing on Mygeeto but she saw no point in deceiving herself anymore than what she already had. She still didn't like this turn of events. What was it that had made Jelly choose Mygeeto?
Bright could feel sweat begin to prickle down her spine and goose bumps popped up on her arms. She had avoided this place for a year, passing off bounties to Sira and Riko when she knew that she would have to cross into the space surrounding Mygeeto. It never really struck her as odd that she would avoid the planet where she was attacked, but then again she had been trying to bury that hurt so deep down that even she would have problems finding it.
She still dreamt of it though. The doctors back on Tadath had diagnosed her with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and Repressed Memories. They had given her medication for it but she hated taking drugs of any kind unless she absolutely had to. She was sure that if Jelly had known of the medication he would have spaced the things by now. The truth was Bright wasn't sure if she needed them or not.
They were close enough to see the control platforms now and she heard Jelly que the comms. She just concentrated on flying. She was glad now that she had insisted on changing the transponder code that the Eclipse gave off, to a much more benign one. Mygeeto control knew the Dathomiri Eclipse's code.
"Mygeeto control, this is The Shadow requesting permission to land, do you read?" Jelly said confidently.
"This is Mygeeto Control, please transponder code now." A voice sounded from the comm station. By the sound it was a woman.
"Sending the information now MC." Jelly responded sending the modified signal to the tower that would decode it and find it to be a friendly ship with a couple only seeking a vacation.
"You are free to land in docking bay 1913, Mygeeto Control out." The woman said.
Bright guided her ship to the specified landing zone her hands clutched so tight her knuckles were white. By the time that the landing procedures were finished, Bright had composed herself enough not to look like a fool in public.
She looked over at Jellybean silently. She wasn't angry with him she just thought that she would have more warning than what she got. Inside she still shook.
"I hope you know what you are doing, JB." She said in a slightly shaking voice. "Because I have no clue why I'm here. And to be quite honest with you, I would give anything to be on another planet as far from Mygeeto as possible." He eyes caught and held his. She was searching she realized. For what she wasn't sure just yet but it seemed to her that he was doing some searching of his own in her eyes.
Was she ready to face the past? Bright would only be able to hang on for the ride and she had a feeling it was going to be a rough one. "I get the proverbial bad feeling about this." She muttered as she stood and adjusted her belt so that her blaster would be easier to reach. She hoped that she wouldn't need it.
