Hello, Crewman Kalinx reporting for duty!!

Hello there. My name is Jegora Fal, and I'm one of the Naval Academy's Operators. That means I'll be helping you through your training, both here in Basic and beyond.

There are several other trainers and operators that will be assisting you as well: Shazam, our Commander of Training; Tomas, the Training Executive Officer; C-3PX2, our only Trainer; and Ibram Tyrol, our senior Operator. Any and all of these gentlemen will be more than capable, and willing, to help you out if I'm not around.

Now, lets get down to buisness. First off, the Vast Empire isn't a 'game' in the traditional sense. It's a forum-based, play-by-post RPG. This means that we roleplay through stories. These stories happen on a variety of levels, from personal and squadron stories, to Wing stories, and even Chapters, which involve the entire organization.

The first step of your training is Flight School. This is where you will learn the ropes of the Vast Empire. After going through Flight School you will take the Aviators Exam, which will qualify you to join a Squadron and begin your career here in the Navy. So, lets start, shall we? First off, you need to have a Character Biography. This is the first stage of Flight School, and perhaps the most important. This is where you create your character; who he or she will be, what he/she will look like, his or her personality traits, etc. A link to a Character Creation Guide can be found here.

When you complete your biography go ahead and post it in this thread. I or another staff member will then look over your bio, making sure everything is in order.

If at any time you have any questions, or if you're looking to get idea of our club and its members, I highly encourage you to explore the rest of the ComNet and jump onto our IRC server, via either our free chat applet (jIRC) or the downloadable version known as mIRC. The most commonly used channel is #Vast_Empire, and the Academy channel can be found at #VENA.

A good base to build upon, for sure, and right now thats all we're looking for. However, I do have one request.

Can ya give us some vitals? Such as height, weight, etc. See below for an example.

Kalinx's Assignment for Chapter 2:

The Immelman: The Immelman is neither an offensive nor defensive maneuver. It is a maneuver that allows you to change the direction in which you were heading and gain altitude as well. You could use this maneuver simply for travel purposes or you could use it for a bombing run. For instance, you've just completed your bombing run. Then you pitch up to do a half-loop and perform a half-roll to turn around and do another bombing run.


The Counter Low-speed Yo-Yo: This maneuver is used to counter the Low Speed Yo-Yo. It is a defensive maneuver. When the Attacker is pitching up out of his Low Speed Yo-Yo maneuver, the Defender can roll down to attack the Attacker from below.
