Welcome to the Imperial Naval Academy (VENA), Zark. My name is Jegora Fal, and I am one of your Operators. I, along with Shazam (the Training Officer), Tomas (our Executive Training Officer), C-3PX2 (our final Trainer), and Ibram Tyrol (our senior Operator) will be passing you through the chapters of Basic Training. If you have any questions at any time, click on the Message Center, compose a new message, and put my full name in the recipient spot. Now, you've actually already finished the first portion, known as Imperial Initiation (II)- in other words, you found your way here. The second half is known as Flight School (FS)- here you'll learn about the basic of flight, your equipment and what it takes to be an active member of one of our fighter groups. If you'll visit Flight School and take a look at Chapter 1 entitled "Character Creation," you’ll have a good start on the first step of Flight School. Once you've got a bio written up, simply post it here and one of our trainers will be along to post their comments and further instructions. In the meantime, if you're looking to get idea of our club and its members, I highly encourage you to explore the rest of the ComNet and jump onto our IRC server, via either our free chat applet (jIRC) or the downloadable version known as mIRC . Either way, I hope to see ya around.

History: Andros Zarkheim, "Zark" for short, has spent the majority of his life in space. His parents ran a freighter since before his was born, it was their only way of making credits. Zark grew up without a homeworld. Much to his parents disapproval he set out to join the Imperial Navy, in hopes of being able to help bring safety to the galaxy.
Physical Description: Standing at 5'11" 170 pounds. Zark has short brown hair, a fair complexion, and green eyes. He looks very much like an average imperial. He carries himself stiffly around others.
He has a noticeable awkwardness when on planets because of his long time spent in the artificial gravity of ships.
Emotional Description: Zark has always been a loner, mostly because of the fact that he grew up as a spacer with his parents, and social interactions were few and far between. He is quick to act on something, when he thinks he's doing the right thing, there is very little anyway can do to change his mind. If someone earns his loyalty he will stick by their side until they do something to prove to him that they don't deserve that loyalty.
Name: Andros Zarkheim
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 170 lbs
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Dark brown
Scars: none

The vertical reverse is achieved when the aircraft is angled up steeply to the point at which is stalls and then is angled around into a steep dive. One possible use would be to evade a pursuit craft during the climb and engage it after the stall once the aircraft is picking up speed during the dive.
The split S is a half loop completed during a dive. While in a turn the aircraft does a rough 180 degree roll and then goes immediatly into a dive. The split S increases speed for a short period of time because of the dive, and also changes the direction of travel. One possible use for the split S is to evade a pursuer.
Point of interest: The split S and vertical reverse can be chained together to at first evade and then attack a craft in pursuit. This would be accomplished by performing a split S to evade and then performing a vertical reverse to drop in behind the target craft.

Sorry about the wait. Your maneuvers, ID Line, and Wiki page looks good. However, I'm going to need a report from you. Doesn't have to be much, just what you've done so far, what you plan to do, and any questions you may have.
Get that up here and we'll have you take the Aviators Exam.

Zark's Report, April 30, 2008
Activity: Became a member of the VE Navy 26April2008. Started assignments as directed by Jegora Fal.
Planned Activity: My planned activities include becoming more familiar with the vast resources at my disposal and completing flight school so I may join the ranks of Navy regualrs.
Questions/Suggestions: My only question is will me not being able to use the Mirc or jirc cause problems? I can't use them because I'm deployed and have to use public computers that can't supprt them. (being deployed also puts in a odd timezone so it might be hard to be online with my wingmates.)

Heh, no, not being able to use mIRC won't be a problem. We use mIRC mainly as a supplement for communication purposes; however, if you're able to check your PMs and the ComNets regularly, it won't be a problem.
Congratulations, by the way. You've now completed Basic Training, or Flight School as we call it. Now you get to take a test. I urge you to complete the Aviators Exam so that we can get you placed in a squadron ASAP. When you complete the exam, PM or email it to me at [email protected].
Good luck.
