Personality:
Shy and very timid, Goln has a very passive nature, but he also has a very short temper and when provacated, has a tendency to lash out aggressively. Along with his impressive size and the fact that he was an immigrant to the planet Iridonia, these qualities lead to him being given then the name "Reek" by his Zabrak adoptive family. As was the tradition with the species, he was given this name along with tradition Zabrak facial tattoos, during his rite of passage.
He is very well learned, and has spent many nights studying holocrons in the family library. He is also a master martial artist, having endured a grueling regiment of training in Zabrak combat ever since the tender age of three. The training has made him extremely stern and disciplined, despite his timid nature, Reek usually isn't trifled with.
Being deprived of his parents, at such a young age, and being raised in a home were fear was discouraged and not comforted away be mothers TLC, Goln is fearful of many things. He works very hard to hide his fear from his peers, comrades, and commanding officers because he knows that fear is not becoming of a solider or a Zabrak and may lead to an untimely death in the field of duty. He has a very strange view of the Empire, due to his reading, his up-bringing, and the manner in which the Empire have treated the Zabrak people, but he has chosen the path of a solider and remains resolutely loyal to the will of the Empire, this loyalty conflicts with his need for independence, and fierce sense self-determination, traits which he shares in common with all his Zabrak brothers.
Description:
Tall and broad, Goln has a muscular-athletic build, his skin is tan, and his hair is long, jet black, and twisted into dreadlocks. His face is covered in stubbled. He has deep green eyes, and his smile is white and crooked, there is something charming about it, something that reminds you of home. He has a strong chin, and his gaze is long and narrow, it seems as though is nose has been broken at least twice, and he has the strange symbols and marks on his face, that tell his lineage, and history, the most outstanding of which are the three large horn shaped symbols on his for-head, for ever marking him as "Reek". Often seen without a helmet, he is usually clad in the standard Stoorm Trooper apparel, except for the fact that he wears tradition Zaberak field boots.
History or Past:
The parents of Goln Vleys were simple folk, Uthar, his father, a good man, and retired mercenary, who had gamble his life savings away at the pod races. His mother was Yuk Tu, a low income cantina waitress. They were dirt poor, Goln..had spent the first two years of his life in the Mynock infested cargo hold of a sleazy luxury cruiser, were his mom worked in the bar, and his dad worked security, the both of them barley pulling in 127 Credits a week.
His father had a strong sense of justice, he felt that his folly, and failure was his own, and he wanted better for his son. He hooked up with an old friend of his, Dohabak the Iridonian Zabrak, an equally good man and someone who could be trusted, after having a long talk with Dohabak, it was settled, that Goln would be left with him and his wife, and raised in a proper home. His father went to see his wife, elated.. filled with joy, dying to give her the news..only to discover that she had news of her own. She had contracted Brainworm Rot Type C.
His parents ideals would prove to be what saved him from a life of orphan and poverty, returning back to his home at the age of 15, he found that his mother had die of a terrible illness, a short while after his departure, and his father had singed with the Imperial Navy, only to die in a prison camp, on a far off planet.
With both his parents dead, Goln closed up to the outside world, and spent a great deal of time studying old holocrons at home, and in the Grand Coruscant Archives when his Zabrak parents would visit. Dohabak had agree to take the task of his training, and schooled him in the trade of war and combat, He learned of great generals, their tactics, and combat styles..people such as Revan, Obi Wan Kenobi, General Skywalker, Carth Onasi the heros of the Republic. Goln severed as a Bounty Hunter for a time, then as a Mercenary for a wealthy spice trader, he went on like this for years.. doing odd jobs, picking up things as he went, learning languages and techniques, and all sorts of things..all the while searching for something bigger finally he settled on the army.
His view of the Galaxy greatly shaped by what he learned of his parents, his Zabrak up-bringing and his reading, it proved difficult for him to fully trust anyone. He lies awake at night hoping to God..or the Force or what ever, that he doesn't meet a pitiful end like his folks, but that he dies gloriously one day in the heat of battle amongst giants, in some far of system whilst he swoops in on the back of a Dragon, shouting a prolific articulation to his comrades..something...poetic
Resent History
Goln recently finished his at the Academy..he graduated with honor's and awarded the Letter of Recommendation, for showing exceptional promise in all fields, he was also promoted to Private First Class, and is currently serving as Enlisted Personnel in the Wraith Squad. |
