== Background History ==
Ananzi is the son of CC-1119 aka Appo, a clone trooper captain and member of the famous 501st Legion. Appo led the attack on the Jedi temple and served under Vader. After the destruction of the Jedi Appo met Ananzi's mother, Kaya. Kaya was from an old cultured family whose members were mostly artists and philosophers. Appo met Kaya briefly when he was off duty and they spent only a night together. Clearly their affair was doomed from the beginning. Appo risked execution and Kaya would have been exiled from her family if they were discovered. The next day Appo was shipped off world. He would meet his end at the hand of the Jedi Roan Shyrne on Kashyyyk.
Kaya's family accepted the child into their home, but his background was at odds with their lifestyle. The identity of his father was kept secret from the family. Kaya's father was a famous philosopher and pacifist, and insisted the boy be given a proper education and not become a soldier. Ananzi was taught by the finest tutors and encouraged to follow the family line and become a man of culture. No amount of teaching could overwhelm the genes he had been given by his father however. Ananzi had the blood of a warrior running through his veins. He rebelled against the teaching, frequently challenging his teachers.
After the death of Palpatine, there was huge uprisings all over Coruscant. Ananzi witnessed the riots, seeing an Imperial patrol get ambushed by the rebels. To Ananzi, these rioters were cowards and traitors. He fought them in the streets and was encouraged by an Imperial pilot he helped to join up. The troops he fought alongside took him on as a sort of “mascot” for their unit after hearing of his famous father. Ananzi began teaching himself Teras Kasi, or “steel hand” in basic, an unarmed combat discipline. He also learned the basics of blasters and other weapons from the Imperial troops stationed near his home. He also began to learn more about his father; a subject which had been taboo to his family.
Eventually, the dichotomy between Ananzi’s teachers and the soldiers he admired became too much. He left home and worked as muscle for a local crime boss and also as a bounty hunter. Shortly before the New Republic fleet captured Coruscant, Ananzi travelled to Kashyyyk to learn more about his father. He escaped the Krytos virus, which killed off most of Coruscant’s non-human population. Kaya and her family were killed, along with millions of others, when the Lusankya escaped the planet. Ananzi blamed the New Republic, who he still referred to as rebels. A Jedi killed his father when he was still an infant, and now the rebels were responsible for the deaths of his family.
On Kashyyk he was able to find the spot where his father was killed with the help of a Wookie guide. The Wookies had kept Appo’s armor because he was a respected warrior. As a matter of honor, they returned it to Ananzi. He promptly left the planet and signed up to the Imperial Army.
== Character's Personality ==
Ananzi has an analytical mind due to his education and instruction in logic. He also studied military tactics and the history of legendary military leaders. He is a “gym rat” and practically obsessed about being in perfect physical condition. He has a genuine hatred for the rebels and takes his service very personally, which could be a liability. Among his flaws are his pride in his genes, and a bit of arrogance about his skills. |
