Darr-Rann rolled aside as Hellra's Electrostaff slammed into the ground where he had been a moment before. He swung his staff up to parry the downwards strike that followed. Darr-Rann clenched his teeth and pushed forwards, trying to bring his opponent down. Suddenly Hellra ducked and brought up in a jab. Darr-Rann leaned back, raised his staff, and rolled backwards. "Dammit, your fast." He said between gulps of air. "Dodge this!" Suddenly he jumped in the air, lowering his hands down to the furthest point of the grip, brining his staff behind his back, and then swining it down to a powerful downwards attack. Hellra stumbled back as she parried the blow. Darr-Rann charged forwards, hoping to catch his opponent while she was off balance. He had no such luck though, and Hellra managed to block or dodge all of the blows he sent at her.

Darr-Rann was larger and stronger than Hellra was, but he was having trouble keeping pace with the faster and smaller fighter. Hellra suddenly went on attack, spinning her staff into a series off attacks. Darr-Rann blocked most of them, one just nearly missing his face. Suddenly they locked their staffs together, trying to push one another back.  Darr-Rann grinned and pushed hard with his staff. He forced Hellra back about a meter before she kicked out her leg and tripped him. Darr-Rann rolled to his knees, swinging his staff one handed and her feet, tripping her. Both took a moment to recover before beginning to fight again.

The two opponents stared across at each other, taking in air. "First one to hit buys drinks?" Hellra said, bringing her staff up to a ready position. Darr-Rann grinned and brought his staff up too. "Deal!"  Suddenly the both ran forwards, striking with their staffs. The flurry of blows continued, neither wanting to fail. Suddenly Hellra stabbed upwords with her electrostaff, causing Darr-Rann instinctively to bring his staff to parry. Just too late he noticed the staff fell short of a full jab. Suddenly Hellra flicked her staff, bringing the lower section of the staff into Darr-Rann's stomach. Darr-Rann bowed his head and laughed. "A feint. I should have thought you'd trick me some how." He laughed. "Well, I guess the drinks are on me then." He walked over and grabbed a towel he had sitting on a bench, cleaning the sweat from his brow. Darr-Rann laughed "Good thing we didn't turn our staffs on, or I'd be fried." Hellra checked the time. "We don't have much time till the meeting, better hurry up."

Purple colours filled the sky, dodging the orange clouds as the sun set. It was a typical summer's evening, warm and thick, and if someone stood outside in the evening sun, he would quickly be drawn in a deep sleepy mood.
The footsteps that could be heard daily across the halls were silent. Long shadows fell through the large window panels baking the floor slightly. A lone trooper stood in the hall; he looked like he was in his early twenties but his deep-set eyes spoke other wise. His dark blonde hair fell in his face, as he bent his head to see something in his hand, hiding the thin scar that ran across the left side of his eye.
Suddenly strings of swear words rang through the halls followed by a shattering noise. The trooper looked up alarmed. He rushed towards the sounds relaxed, a smile tugged on his face. He stopped at an open door, he remained at  doorway looking at a seemingly empty room.
"Hell, you really need to set an example you know"
A grumble greeted him from under the desk in the small room. Seconds later a head appeared above the table. A young girl who barely looked like fourteen glared at him, her usually blue eyes now a darker shade. She ran her hand through her hair frustrated.
"Shut it Darr" she replied. She grabbed her seat for support to get up.
Darr-Rann ignored her snappy comment, he was used to her short fused temper. He merely laughed and plopped himself in the chair opposite her desk. He was reading some notes on his datapad.
"Still sore about yesterday?" he looked up to see her expression; to no surprise she was smiling slightly.
"Yeah, literally and figuratively, my arms is still killing me, but you got me fair and square" she replied. Darr-Ran shook his head; Hellra has always been a sore loser, but she knew when to admit she was beaten.

"Up for another round?" he asked bored. Hellra's head whipped up in excitement.
She groaned however as she looked at her desk, it had small stacks of papers neatly ready for use and reading.
"Work" she grumbled. Darr-Rann sighed.
"Sucks to do paperwork doesn't" he commented, he continued reading his digitalized notes through for his next exam on medic..

Hellra however haven't even picked a datapad up to work with. Her thoughts were drifting aimlessly around before it landed on her first memory joining the Stormtroopers. Merely fifteen years old she was travelling around with no goal except to flee form the raging rebels she betrayed. She stumbled on Vast Empire by accident but joined it without hesitation. Her eyes blanked out as she thought of that particular day.

The place seemed cold and unfriendly with its huge halls and looming buildings.
Hellra walked through the halls, although everyone's eyes ignored her, it felt to her like their eyes burned on her, she was wearing a dark red poncho, a duffel bag slung over shoulders, and broken glasses hung around her neck. She hugged her self trying to block everything out except the bitter cold.

Soon she found her self in drill, still feeling unsure of herself, she lied and only told half truths about her past knowing she might be killed if they found out she was a rebel. A few weeks later she was placed in Lancer squad under the command of Sergeant TK, a man she found pleasant but really strange. But she appreciated his friendship he offered her. There she met Darr-Rann, also a new recruit...

"HELL!" Hellra's head snapped up from her arms.
"Im not sleeping!" she exclaimed fast but still sleepy.
She turned towards laughter on the floor after a few split seconds.
"You think this is funny Darr?"

Sweat trickled and dripped from Darr-Rann's face, he stood with his electro staff looking at Hellra. She was in an almost crouched position; her face was frowned with determination. Suddenly she sped forward lifting her staff aiming a blow. Darr-Rann expertly blocked it with a bored expression. He bought his staff down on her forcing her to the ground almost. She was standing on her one knee, her back bended backwards.
"Give up?" he asked, his face were right above hers. She simply smirked, and relaxed her arms rolling out from under Darr-Rann's pressure.
Not expecting the sudden space of air Darr-Rann fell forward. He stopped him as he felled on his knee. Used to these moves Hellra pulled, he wasted no time to try and find her.  He parried her staff in front of her face.

"Give up?" mimicked Hellra smirking at the rush of battle that flew through her.
Before she joined VE, she couldn't fight very well, lacking the discipline and training for it.
"Nope, you?" replied Darr-Rann, he tensed his shoulders, and started running to Hellra with unexpected speed. He bought his staff down again, but instead of aiming for her body, he aimed for her staff making sure it clashed. Hellra tried to block, but the force at which their staffs sent shock waves through her arms, numbing them, though it didn't affect Darr-Rann in any way thanks to his strength. Hellra tried to duck away again, but Darr-Rann anticipated her moves and swung his stuff down again at where he though she would be. He smirked as he heard her curse trying to dodge his movements.
He flipped backwards taking a break for a few minutes. Hellra was doing the same.
"You improved" she commented.
"Same to you" he replied.
They readied them selves again. Hellra sprinted forward and continued their assault on each other with flurry blows. Darr-Ramm blocked another hit Hellra attempted to make, he laughed openly at her attempt to overpower him. A kick to his knee however knocked him off his feet. He wasn't fazed by this and slid his staff over the floor raising it, knocking Hellra off her feet also.

They kept lying there, neither making an attempt to get up.
"I call quits for the day" suggested Darr-Rann, it was time they should stop. Let the body relax also. He knew enough from experience and his studies that they were spent. For a surprise Hellra didn't complain as usual.
Everyday they sparred, and Darr-Rann usually had the upper hand thanks to his former experience and skills. Hellra on the other hand was used to sparring with her hands.

"Your style remind me really of my family's style of fighting, he looked at Hellra, who was remaining silent. They were both walking back to their quarters.
"Yeah, I know. Remember he trained me, actually he trained me personally, he wanted me to help him destroy you guys personally"
An uncomfortable and awkward silence fell between them. Since they have made peace, they haven't talked about this really&

Hellra walked unsurely through a door opening. Her face scrunched up in disgust at the smell of the room. Rowdy laughter could be heard across it.  Hellra tried to ignore the stench and eyes that surrounded the room. She uncomfortably slid in a high stool. A foul looking over weight man leaned over, his grumpy face grumbled in annoyance.
"What can I get for you kid, im busy" his eyes travelled to the holster at her waist that held a Blaster pistol which most people couldn't see under her poncho.
"What do you have?" asked Hellra, her hair hung under shoulders, she looked like she could be ten. Her electric blue eyes darted around the room suspiciously.
"In terms of services or providing services?"  Hellra smirked; coming to this back street bar wasn't such a bad idea.
"Depends on what you can provide"
The barman smirked in return,
"Bit young for jobs aren't ya?" he studied her small frame, she was even shorter then average woman, or maybe it was because of her age.
"Age doesn't matter as long there is money and skill involved right?" asked Hellra, making it more of a statement. The barman still seemed to have difficulty summing her up.
"Can you back up what you say?"
Hellra lifted her left arm; she rolled her sleeve up, and turned it over. The barman gasped, he grabbed her arm to get a closer look. Blue veins could clearly be seen on her pale skin. But not much as it was hidden and scarred by a scorch mark, that seemed to have placed there on purpose, forming an insignia.

"You're a rebel?" he asked, he didn't give time to answer, as he suddenly turned around. Hellra's hand flew to her pistol in alarm. He turned back to her, with two glasses filled with something. Hellra grabbed it without questions.
She didn't answer him either. Her once innocent eyes silenced him with a glare.
"Well, I know a guy that accepts people by their skills and not their reps" he said slowly and calculating,
"Really?" asked Hellra, lifting her eyebrows amused.
"Yup, yup" he answered, he poured him self a second glass. He waved to one of the assistants to stand in for him while he talked with Hellra.

"So, you contacting him now?" asked Hellra impatiently, they were in a storeroom, making a call. Random boxes stood around, a thin layer of dust covered them. She ran her hand through the hair that fell in her face.
"Have a lot of mouth for a kid don't you?" he commented.
Hellra didn't say anything, she knew it was unnatural for kids her age to suddenly just join the rebels, in the past kids have proven to be untrustworthy. But for some reason they made an exception of her. Her thirteenth birthday was nearing in a few short weeks.
Hellra was about to reply a remark when suddenly he started speaking in another language. His babbling seemed to give her an headache. A strange device was pushed in her small hands.
"H-Hello?" her voice sounded small and childish, she shook her head.
Hellra bought it to her ears as she saw the barman doing earlier.
"Name?" came a raspy and dark voice over the small speaker.
Hellra responded after a few seconds, clearly frightened by the rough voice, with the strange and thick accent.
"Hellen" she replied.
"Age" it seemed he was the type to get straight to business.
"Twelve and a half"
"Current weapon"
"Blaster pistol"
"You want the job?"
"Yes" replied Hellra praying for it silently, if she didn't get it, then her rebel friends wouldn't be so happy. The barman was trying to listen intently to their conversation
but it was a futile attempt, he could only hear what Hellra said.
Hellra continued to listen.

"I have three men, who was supposed to do a job, I am giving it to you"
"Name it, and it's my top priority to see it through" replied Hellra professionally.
"Lot of mouth for a kid don't ya, know the guy who directed you to me&silence him, I will contact you soon"
"Could you hold a moment Sir?" asked Hellra quickly not wanting him to hung up.
"This better be good kid," said the speaker obviously pissed that a kid was interrupting his schedule.
Hellra walked to the door that leaded out of the storeroom, the barman looked at her confused as she closed it. His confused face turned to horror as she lifted her pistol towards him. It glistened in the light that hung so low over their head.
"What are you doing?" he asked fear stricken. It was ironic, a full grown man killed by and twelve year old. Since they found her a few weeks ago, she learned a lot, and she enjoyed what she was doing.

"My job" she replied, as if it was daily thing to do. The man continued to stare at her in fear, her electric blue eyes was now a dark colour, with tints of light blue. A shot rang through the small room, though it didn't pass through the walls and door. Hellra shrugged at the mess.
"Job done" reported Hellra through the communication link.
"Not bad kid, not bad, I will get in contact with you again"
Before Hellra could reply she lost contact.

"You got him?" asked a shadowy figure, in a dark alley. Hellra turned towards the voice surprised. Her facial expression soon relaxed however when she noticed who it was.
"Yes Sir" she replied curtly.
"Good, Cedaan will be glad to hear that"

A 17 year old Rannik Cedaan walked down the street with his brother Jad.  "So, what do you think the medical academy will be like?" asked Rannik as they approached the mentioned building. "Its going to be a lot of hard work, I bet." Jad laughed. "Maybe for you." They walked inside, turning to the computer that was set into a wall. "I already know I got in, but you might have not." Jad read down the list, his smirk suddenly turning into a frown. "Your on here, but I cant find my name..." He walked over to the desk in the center of the room. "Excuse me, but there has to be a mistake. I'm Jad Cedaan. You seem to have forgotten to post me on the list over there." The man at the desk looked at his computer. "No, there's no mistake, your not on the list." Jad's fist clenched. "Do you know who I am?" The man at the desk shook his head. "I'm Jad Cedaan, of the Cedaan family."  The man looked up. "Oh, I take it your Rannik?" he said, looking at the younger sibling now. Rannik nodded. "Here is your Timetable for when class starts, if your school marks say anything, you should do well here." as they walked out, Jad was infuriated. "I didn't get in! They're going to pay for this!" He looked at his brother. "And why the hell did you get in, your not even the recommended age of entry yet!"

Rannik sat down on the chair, seemingly reviewing his school notes, actually listening to his brother talk to a man Rannik didn't know in a nearby room. "Come on, It's time to continue our little, 'interrogations'."  The man nodded and he and Jad walked out of their "house" (which was actually the top few floors of a expensive apartment complex). Rannik set down his notes and watched through the window as they climbed into Jad's speeder. Rannik walked outside once they had set off, and climbed into his speeder. Looking at the datapad in his hand, he tracked Jad through the homing beacon he had placed in his brother's speeder when he started to suspect hin of his doings. Rannik set off after them.

A hour later, he noticed they had stopped in a small warehouse. Setting his speeder down quietly, he stealthily walked inside of the building.  He heard voices down on the far side of the building, but he first decided to check one of the crates sitting on floor. Opening  one of them up, he gasped at what he saw. The crate was filled to the top with disrupter pistols and rifles. "Dammit Jad, what have you been doing..." he thought to himself, making his way towards the other end of the warehouse.

Jad backhanded the man tied up in front of him across the face. "What the hell did you say?" he yelled. The man looked up at him with hate in his eyes. "You'll never take down the Corellia Authority you bastard, Tenj will make sure you'll die a painful death!" Jad hit the man harder, knocking out a few teeth. "The Authority is old and dead. The hand of Cedaan will crush any who stand in my way!"  he turned and nodded to the large man who he had been talking to earlier. "I'm tired of this fool. Make it painful." The large man grinned and grabbed a large piece of metal. Rannik winced when he heard the screams of the man as he was beaten to death. Quickly, he started to leave. "Rannik, come back here."

The younger sibling froze as he heard his older brother's voice. "I knew you were watching." The older brother said to Rannik as he and the larger man made their way to were Rannik was standing. "Do you honestly think I would let you tell on our activities, even if you are my brother?"  He motioned to his accomplice, who suddenly rushed at Rannik. Quick to respond, the younger brother made a quick jab at the man, making him drop in a sudden wave of pain. Jad suddenly ran at unnerving speed at his brother. "You may think you are a good fighter, but I am better!" He swiftly kicked at Rannik, who just managed to evade it. Suddenly he crouched down, hitting Rannik with a powerful blow to the face. The younger brother tried to recover, but the elder hit him again, dropping him to the floor. Jad mercilessly kicked his sibling. "If you ever tell anyone, I'm going to Kill our father. Then it will be your turn." He continued to beat Rannik into unconsciousness...

Hellra chuckled in a smirk. Her face defined mischief. She glanced at her ComLink. She has heard of Major Rizzit's tinkering with portable sim's a few years back, and it prickled her mind. She started experimenting with them and created her own sim; Zanje.

She smiled remembering how she enlisted Zanje and had her placed in the Nightstalkers squad. Needless to say, when Merric and Rizzit found out they weren't too pleased. But she will fool them yet. Her smirk deepened.

Her face changed from it's troubled free emotions to a frown. She currently was walking through the empty halls of the Academy waiting for dawn to break.

Few hours ago she has left the Lancer squad to join the Raiders, recruited by its new ASL Jakireth. She dropped her duffel bag in the corner of the next turn and slouched to the window where a cool wind breezed through.

She really wanted to talk to her best friend Em, but it was stupid waking someone up 3AM the mourning. She turned away from the window, her gaze lingering for a stretched second on the twinkling stars.

The red sun was setting low in the sky, casting long darkening shadows through the forest. The warm, thick breeze that hung in the atmosphere gathered in a cool wind breezing through the trees like a snake slithering towards its prey.

Hellra lifted her head lazily from the ground, her eyes fluttered opened, and then closed again. She was stiff and sore. Her body still used to the luxury of having a velvet bed, protested against her movements.

It was now several days since she has left home. She was still not sure whether she should rejoice or regret her decision to leave home. Barely twelve she has managed to live in the forest now for a week now, something she was quite proud off.

Suddenly she found herself awake, alert to every sound and movement made.
Maybe it was her instinct or maybe she heard the distant sound of twigs snapping as pressure was put on it. Whatever it was she wasn't going to stay there to find out.
She silently tried gathering her few possessions but dropped it as loud male voices sounded, not sounding very friendly. She dropped to the ground behind a looming bush to keep clear of the males. Silently she tried crawling away, her crawling turned to scrambling but the world blacked out on her as a huge hand enclosed around her frail neck.

A stinging sensation to her face woke her to the harsh reality she was currently in. Her hands were tied tightly together, her feet as well. She silently tried struggling against her bounds in a futile attempt to escape.

She looked up confused to the source of laughter. Human males were sitting not to far from her talking in a native language while eating their lunch. She glanced around her; she wasn't the only unfortunate being caught. Not to far from her sat another human female. Bur her face was beaten beyond recognition. Through the swollen eyelids, a pair of fiery green eyes stared with hate at the men sitting at the makeshift fire.

Another human was on the ground not far from her. He was gasping for oxygen through ragged breathing. He was lying on his side displaying his collection of bruises he acquired in his time as captive. His ribs were littered with blue and purple lashes while his back was a reddened bloodied mass of skin, muscle and flesh.

Not able to look at it anymore she turned her head away hastily although the image didn't disappearing from her overworked mind. She shivered uncontrollably in shock.
For once eon her life she didn't appreciate the nature around her. The forest green forest was tickling her bare feet, while the trees leaned against the small wind. A starry sky greeted her eyes when she threw her gaze towards it but it didn't matter to her that moment, all she cared was her; life.

The sun greeted her unfriendly the next mourning as she opened her eyes. She fell asleep during the night at sometime or another, probably of the exhausted state her mind and body was. She didn't have time to ponder on her surroundings or condition as she was brutally pulled to her feet when one of the humans jerked her on her feet.

Moment later she found her self-being pushed in a not so gentle manner towards some shuttles that would escort her and the rest of the slaves to their unknown designation.
She desperately glanced around for anyway to escape but to no avail.

She tasted blood in her mouth when she crashed in the ground in response to them throwing her in the cargo holds like a duffel bag. She swore to them inaudibly and scrambled to get a corner alone in the already overfull cargo.

Moans of despair and panic sounded up from all around her. Mother's were clinging to their spouses or offspring. Hellra noticed one particular human that was sitting on the ground, rocking forward and backwards while nestling a dead baby in her hands. She looked up and stared Hellra straight in the eye. Hellra backed away hastily at the eyes staring at her; it wasn't the eyes of a sane person. It was almost animalistic.

Shock prevented her from breaking down at that point; her mind was analysing but didn't comprehend what was happening around her. More slaves were being pushed through the cargo doors. Hellra made her way through the ocean of slaves; some of them were still farming this mourning before they were caught, while others were already bought here from previous enslavement.

She spotted an open spot against the back wall in the far left corner. Scrambling to get it she made her way towards her spot hastily. Already the atmosphere smelled of sweat, old clothes and blood, slaves were being cluttered up unceremoniously in the cargo till there was barley space for a mouse. Cold darkness greeted her eyes as the blast doors closed leaving the cargo hold in utter chaos, anger and resentment.

Next day
The foul stench was the first she smelled, the smell of dead objects when she woke up, and the last thing she smelled when falling asleep. The dead bodies were on the verge of decaying had it been granted a chance in the soil of a planet.

They have been clustered in the cargo hold now for almost two days, those who weren't strong enough to survive the harsh reality they were thrown to, was quickly disposed by either their wounds our fellow captives who were all fighting for the scarce food given to them once a day.

Hellra didn't scramble for food like the rest did.  She kept to her self-trying to avoid interaction with the other captives, knowing that it would all end in a fight. Dead bodies could now be found every few feet.
Hellra was the youngest surviving captive so far; a five-year old child was caught unfortunately in a dogfight between two other male captives. His face was smashed to bits, and his skull crushed from the sheer pressure of being thrown against the wall and the trampled on. It truly was survival of the fittest. Hellra tried to gulp down the rock in her throat; her stomach hasn't stopped lurching ever since she set foot in the cargo. She slowing but surely overcoming her shock, replacing it with fright and panic.

She didn't know when, but suddenly they landed in a not so gentle manner. It was clearly indicated when captives were thrown across the floor losing their balance.
Light beams filtered through the opening gap of the cargo door, and the smell of sand and dust came with it. Blinded for a few seconds by the light she closed her eyes tightly while other's scrambled to get out of the cargo hold. A gentle gush of fresh air whiffed through the open the door, almost succeeding to clear the cargo hold from it's foul stench. Except for the bodies Hellra was now the only captive left in the cargo, maybe if they didn't notice her there, she could escape later. Or she could pretend to be dead.

But already a guard was coming through the cargo door. His menacing scowl didn't hesitate when he saw her crouched up in the corner trying to hide in the shadows. His scarred face smirked.
Helra quivered in fear at his eyes as it glided over her petite figure. She suddenly felt dirty and cheap as he neared her. His hand stretched out to grab her by her arms, but stopped when some called out in a native language. He barked something back, his gleaming eyes still glued on her. He suddenly frowned, and said something Hellra assumed was cursing.

Suddenly thrown on his back, she was taken out of the holding to join her fellow captives. Hellra shivered with shock and panic. The large male that was carrying her dropped her to the ground suddenly, groaning from the impact she looked up. Another human was standing next to her; his huge frame was silhouetted, blocking the sharp sun. He said something to the human who bought her from the cargo holds.
The two started bickering the till the he of them bought a blaster pistol out and pointed it at the human with the scarred face.

The scarred human swore and stomped off towards the other slaves. They were on Tatooine, she learned enough from geography to recognize the familiar traits of the dusty planet.
"You speak basic?"
Hellra glanced in surprise at the gentle tone the man was talking to her. She nodded in response. Confused she accepted the hand extended towards her to help her up from the ground.
"Call me Grubs, an friend of mine wanted me to pick a young girl to help his wife"
Hellra felt him untying her bounds, but ignored it. He grabbed her by her shoulders and steered her in an unknown direction. They passed the captives she shared the cargo with. Twangs of pity rouse in her as spouses were separated, friends divided and siblings parted from each other.

She soon found her master to be quite a menacing man as he took her to her new home. He already threatened once to hit her. And it didn't do much to her new acquired status as slave. People looked at her like she was the dirt they were trudging on.

She woke to a slap landing painfully on her face, she opened her eyes hastily, and her new master was looming over her, hes hands raised threateningly.
"Get up, my dad wants to speak to you about your duties" she spat out before slamming the door of Hellra's small room she shared with another slave.
Hellra quickly changed into the clothes she had to wear as slave; a simple tunic.

A few days passed in which Hellra was abused whenever they could. She was quite lucky that she didn't have a broken rib or shattered teeth. They wouldn't feed her for days sometimes forcing her to scavenge for food in the dustbins. But in a brutal bar fight her master was killed, and her master's wife committed suicide. A pleasant man names Jest took her. She didn't trust him at all, even though his family treated her with respect.

Days passed quickly for her; she had her hands full with the children she had to guard. The sun would be past the horizon when she went to bed, and she would be up before the sun in the mourning. Tatooine was not a pleasant place to live. In reality it was chaotic and boring. It didn't have the graces of grass, trees and plants. Water couldn't be found in pudfles or lakes. And the sun's blistering heat was unbearable.

Days turned to weeks, and weeks into a month. She has already worked her way up to one of Jest's most trusted. He allowed her to compete in racing as long as she did it in his name.

She woke up in the late night with smoke filling her lungs and burning her eyes. She darted from her bed to the window only to forget it had bars. She escaped by barging her locked door with her shoulder injuring it badly. A dull pain started throbbing in her shoulder but she ignored it.

She aimed straight for the front door to escape when she passed a room that hasn't been yet cursed by the flames. A strange sight she found.

Two troopers were shooting with their rifles. She followed the aim of the blasters instinctively, only to found to her horror her owners already dead on the floor, the wife, being the last one to fall.  They took their helmets off, and kneeled to the ground to check her dead owner's pulses.

In anger she grabbed a sword that hung in the wall and charged towards the troopers, stabbing the first one in his bare neck killing him instantly, and knocked the other one out cold with the hilt of the sword.
Blood covered her hands, still dripping in small droplets to the expensive carpet.

She left them, assured that they wouldn't escape the flames of the house. She travelled through the house looking for the family's youngest daughter. She followed the sounds of screaming that could be heard faintly from the hall. She turned to the room hastily. Fear rose in her. The room was alive with fire. It curled and twisted around the primitive objects and pillars made of wood. She jumped through the fire, not caring if she got burned. But it appeared to be in vain. She found the girl screaming out of pain and fright at the fire tongues licking her skin as she lay on the floor. She was already burned beyond recognition. Hellra knew even if she could put the fire out, it would be of no help. The child will only suffer.

Hellra gasped, and fell on her knees in doubt of what to do. Oxygen refused to breath through her mouth. Her insides were stone cold; she could only stared at the girl who was screaming for help in her native language. Through the burned and swollen skin, Hellra could still see her eyes; they were filled with prayers and hopes of being released of the fire. Hellra took up the sword she dropped on the floor. The handle burned in her skin but she ignored it. She strode over to the girl.

She raised the sword high above her head. She stared in front of her. The human child's eyes filled with fear and fright, Hellra couldn't detect if the girl was afraid of her or the death that were tugging her life away from her. Hellra closed her eyes; she dropped her arms in a mighty stroke. Blood sprayed over hands indicating the strike was an instant kill, unlike the fire.
Hellra forced her tears away as she stumbled out of the house. She walked a few meters away from the door. She dropped her sword as she sunk to the gravel on ground, just staring stars above her. She didn't notice the shadow that crept away on all fours away out of the house. How long she lay there seemed unimportant. She has failed.
Hellra opened her eyes. The sun will rise in a few minutes. An icy hand touched her head. She tried to get up, but her exhausted state left her in a frozen state unable to move.

Darr-Rann stepped out of the transport, shouldering his pack and picking up the small metal case which held his medical equipment. He quickly looked around for security officers.
"Time to pay Bin a visit." Darr-Rann said, walking over to one of the many shops in the terminal.

It was only a short time ago that Darr-Rann had resieved the Holonet message that brought him here. According to the message, his father had fallen deadly ill, and he was refusing to be treated by anyone except his son. Darr-Rann doubted the situation, but he decided to come anyways.
And now he was home, and he had never been in as much danger as he was now.

Darr-Rann looked up at a screen on the wall, were the latest news stories in Coronet were being posted. "There were only two survivors." Darr-Rann started to walk again.
"And now an update on the Anti-Republic Terrorist situation."
Darr-Rann stopped, alarmed.
"Gaal Dron, one of the Terrorists who escaped the Raid on their base, has been killed in a conflict with Republic security police."
Darr-Rann sighed and shook his head. "Gaal was never much of a fighter."
The man continued. "There are three known survivors remaining. These are Kal 'Demonic', Tyn Daraan, And Rannik Cedaan." The pictures of the mentioned were displayed on the screen.
"Dammit!" Darr-Rann swore to himself. He thought it would be hard enough to navigate safely through the city already, but now his face was going to be known to half the residences of Coronet.

Darr-Rann entered the Store, filled with Electronics and Droids. The shop was empty, probably because of the owner, Bin, was known for overpricing. Darr-Rann didn't really care, he wasn't there to buy anything anyways.
"A customer! Would happen to be interested an Astromech droid? I have an R4 model that is in excellent condition." The Rodian suddenly realized who he was talking to.
"Darr-Rann!" Bin said, walking behind the counter. "What are you doing here?"
Darr-Rann  strode over to the display case over towards the back of the shop.
"I need to take the passage into the City."

During the Anti-Republic resistance, they had used the secret passageway through Bin's shop to enter the terminal. It had provided them with access to the various smugglers who could provide them with weaponry and other required supplies. Bin had allowed this because of the Steady cash flow that they provided him.

"Well, I have to be going. Later bin." Darr-Rann said, tripping the switch to move the case aside, revealing the passage.
"I'm afraid not Darr-Rann."
Darr-Rann turned to face Bin, who was holding a blaster pistol in his hand.
Darr-Rann sighed. "Put the gun down Bin."
"I'll get a pretty penny for the bounty on your head!" The Rodian said, keeping the gun level with Darr-Rann's torso. Darr-Rann rolled his eyes and walked towards Bin.

"Stay back!" The storekeep cried out, beckoning with the blaster to reinforce his point.
Darr-Rann walked closer to the Rodian, his eyes only straying to see the missed shot fry one of Bin's droids.
Darr-Rann suddenly jumped over the counter, causing Bin to take a few steps back to avoid the Human. Darr-Rann's fist came quickly smashing into Bin's stomach, winding the Rodian. He grabbed the blaster pistol and pointed it at it's owner.

They both stood there for a few moments, no one moving or saying anything.
"You're not even worth pulling the trigger." Darr-Rann said, throwing the blaster away.
Darr-Rann walked over to the passageway.
"Later bin. And please don't get any more ideas."
He walked through the passageway, pressing a button to close it behind him.

Darr-Rann got out of the speeder, stepping onto the platform, walking over to the Door. Over the door was the words 'Cedaan Residence.' The building belonged to the Cedaan family, the top floors being their residence, the lower being for business.
"Alright Dad, lets get this over with." Darr-Rann said, Walking through the door.

Darr-Rann walked into the living room, his eyes sweeping the room. It hadn't changed much, except the noticeable absence of pictures with him in them. Sitting in a particularly comfortable looking chair (It was new, or at least it wasn't there last time he came) was his father.
"You seem awfully healthy for someone on his deathbed." Darr-Rann said, sitting down and placing his stuff on the table.
"I'm sorry, its just the only way I could get you to come." Tral said, putting down the liquor glass in his hand and turning to face his son.

"You have to see reason, dammit!" Tral said, pounding his fist down on the table. "You keep fighting for the wrong cause! Your wasting your talents on a corrupt government who doesn't give a shit about anyone!"
Darr-Rann shook his head.
"You're wrong. We fight for Peace and Justice in the Galaxy, which those butcher rebels took away."
Tral shook with rage for a moment then his expression calmed.
"Come with me, there is something I must show you."

Darr-Rann looked around the room, his head swarming with memories. The training room, or so it was called, was the center of the Cedaan-Ryu training of Darr-Rann and his brother. Cedaan-Ryu was an old family art, only to be taught to members of the Cedaan noble family. He and his father stepped into the middle of the large mat in the middle of the room, commonly referred to 'The Ring' (Although in no way circular) and faced each other.
"You never earned your Master's belt. I, as your father and your master of the art, offer you the challenge to earn it. If you have faith in your cause, prove it now."
Darr-Rann bowed and put himself in a combat position. His father did the same.
"Let us fight."
Tral leaped forwards, ramming into Darr-Rann, sending his son flying back.

Darr-Rann and his father circled the mat, both ready to strike at any moment.
"You belong to a Empire of dictators, you must see that!" Tral said, lunging forwards.
"The rebels are murdering Bastards. They killed thousands on the Death stars and in the fleets!"
Darr-Rann said, Rolling aside and preparing for another attack.
"What the hell did you think the Death stars were for?" The father asked.
Suddenly Tral leaped forwards, his hand flying forwards to catch Darr-Rann's, forearm.
Darr-Rann, dodged the incoming punch, slamming his fist into his fathers stomach. Then he brought his fist up into the mans face, finishing with a kick that sent him flying back. Tral staggered to his feet. stumbling.
"You've... Defeated me." He said, gasping for air.
"Well done brother." Jad said, stepping out from behind the door frame.

"Die!" Darr-Rann cried out, fury overtaking him. The man who had taken everything from him, standing in front of him now...
Jad smirked, his hand quickly darting forwards releasing a activated vibroblade...
"Dammit!" Darr-Rann cried out as the knife cut his heavy blaster pistol in two, right out of his hand.
"Common now, that isn't how you greet your older brother..." He suddenly surged forwards, slamming into Darr-Rann, sending him flying back into a wall. He turned to face Tral.
"Father, you've been useful, by I tire of you." He smiled. "Darr-Rann, I should thank you. It would have been alot harder to kill him if you haden't hurt him first..."
Jad's fist came down, smashing against his father's skull, a sickening crunch sounding out as the man's skull shattered...

"He's gone..." Darr-Rann thought as he lay on the floor, unable to move. "Another person he's taken away from me..." Suddenly a great rage filled Darr-Rann. He got up slowly, staggering to his feet. His body shook violently as the inferno of emotion flowed through him. He raised his hands into a fighting stance.
Jad looked at him with great surprise.
"How... Did you resist the paralyzation?" He shook his head. Suddenly he lunged forwards, stabbing at Darr-Rann's neck.
Darr-Rann rolled aside, dodging the attack. Grabbing at the wall, we took down a staff, swinging it around into a ready position.
"Bring it." Darr-Rann said, a dark smile on his face.
Jad laughed, taking no weapon. He surged forwards, running along the wall. Jumping he met the wall behind Darr-Rann, launching off of it into a punching attack. Darr-Rann rolled aside, swinging his staff around to try and force his enemy back. Jad blocked the staff, grabbing it. He quickly heaved, using the staff to throw Darr-Rann. Getting up again, he grabbed a set of swords. Swinging them around, he ran towards his opponent, hoping to pin him against a wall. Jad turned ran up the wall, landing behind the medic, kicking him in the back.
Darr-Rann's eyes wandered to his fathers body. There was something in his hand...
rolling past his enemy, he reached down and grabbed it, dropping one of the blades. He felt soft fabric and metal in his hand...
Suddenly slammed into his brother, sending his flying into the window behind him...
Glass shattered...

Darr-Rann awoke, looking around. He was in streets below Coronet. How he got there, he didn't know. Opening his hand, he looked at the object.
"A master's bracer..." He thought to himself. it was a metal plate, with soft but tough black fabric attached, to hold in on the arm. On the plate was a picture of a Krayt Dragon, and black markings designating the ranks he had obtained...
"My father's... He knew Jad was going to kill him..."
He was suddenly aware that he wasn't alone, he sprang up, readying for a fight.
"Hey Darr, don't." a familiar voice sounded out.
before him stood Tyn Daraan. Relief surged through him.
"It's good to see you old friend." Tyn said, smiling.
During the resistance, Tyn had been a marksman, one Darr-Rann knew quite well. A childhood friend, Darr-Rann had recruited him. He was an expert shot who rarely missed, and a good sabaac player.

After Darr-Rann finished explaining the situation to Tyn, he got up. "I have to go." He said, "It's not safe here." He searched through his pockets, looking for his return ticket for the transport. Suddenly realization set in.
"It was in my medkit, which is still sitting on the table..."
He cursed himself for his mistake. Sighing, he shook his head.
"Whats wrong?" Tyn said, noticing the obvious look of stress on his face.
"I lost my ticket." He said, brainstorming for ideas of what to do. Tyn smiled.
"I own a ship, I'll take you wherever you need to go." He offered.
    "Thanks. Where is it?"
"Just in the docks. Section B-11-12. You set off, I have some stuff to wrap up and then I'll meet you there."
    "Thanks." Darr-Rann said, hurrying off.
Tyn watched him go. Turning, he activated his comlink.
"Alright, he's on his way back,  as you ordered."
"Very good Tyn, you will be rewarded..."
    "Thank you master Cedaan..."

RE: Losses of Vandetta (Hellra and Darr-Rann)
October 29, 2005 2:44:45 PM    View the profile of Hellra
Hellra trudged down towards the training area where Darr-Rann was awaiting her for their usual spar. Her thoughts wandered as she walked, the halls were such common sight to her, she could walk around blindly without getting lost, come to think of it, she literally had to walk these halls in a blind mode back when she was a Lancer. Her slender fingers curled around the dagger that hung at her side. She still didn't know the origin of this dagger; it had a sleek and black rubber-like handle, bronze rings slithering in a circular patter around it, made to fit the one's fingers curling around the handle to grip it. The blade it self were about nine inches long, nothing fancy or elegant about it, no engravings like she has seen other blades cursed to bore. She preferred it like that. Simple, and unmarked, the perfect weapon for an assassin. Was it hers? Whoever used it to pin that faithful message to tree, must have realised that he might never see the dagger again. She shrugged,

She lifted her ComLink to her mouth
"Darr, could you hold a sec, with training? I'll be there in a mo," she said, while getting unclipping the dagger from her side, it was encased in a simple make-shift leather sheathe,
"No problem Hell, but get over here as soon as you can, I have a life in Lancer Squad also, Yill won't be happy if I miss drill,"
"Oh, he can wait," said Hellra nonchalantly, she heard Darr-Rann grumble before he cut the connection.

Seconds later she was walking in the opposite direction she intended to go. Moments later the wind bellowed in her ears and face as she sped from the barracks towards the city with her speeder.
--------------------------------

"Hell, where are you?" asked the frustrated voice belonging to Darr-Rann over the ComLink. Hellra ruffled her thick hair with her one hand while answering him.
"On my way, give me two more minutes, something's off" Hellra cut the connection before Darr-Rann could reply.

She gave a final gaze at her surroundings. She has just returned from the over crowded, and bustling streets of the city. She felt quite empty without her dagger; at the moment it was gracing the dust-covered worktable of a blacksmith. She didn't like engraved objects but a simple crest identifying the dagger with her should be enough.

Hellra jumped on her speeder, speeding towards the training grounds of the Stormtrooper Academy.  She flattened her self against the speeder, her eyes narrowed. Something was wrong. Emi needed her help.  Trees and boulders blurred past her as she accelerated to the maximum speed her speeder could reach. She thanked her racing skills she picked up when she served the rebels for not crashing into any particular trees and other obstacles that could be the cause of her death. As if sensing the humans and other life she was nearing, Hellra jammed her breaks in attempt to stop her self from colliding with them and rob them of life.  Her speeder came to a skied halt, stopping mere inches away from the white-faced recruit who was in the action of a salute towards his training officer. Hellra smirked slightly at this; the other recruits were also pale at the speeder that neared them at an alarming speed seconds before it halted.

The training Officer gazed at Hellra raising his eyebrows, before setting it in a frown. Hellra returned the frown from her seated position.
"Yes Corporal?"
"Where is Private Emi?"
"I sent her on a delivery assignment for the store, why?" the officer asked curiously, but the only answer that came to him was the dirt and mud splattering over his and recruit's uniforms as Hellra made a U-turn on the spot and sped in the direction of the Imperial Store.

Her sense of foreboding increased, carefully maintaining her balance she bought her wristCom to her mouth.
"Darr, cut the spar today---"
"Wha---" she cut the connection between them, and reinforced her concentration. Emi was in danger she could sense it. Someone wants to hurt her. Hellra frown increased, even at the speed she was travelling, she could make two unidentified objects circling another. Emi&.

Instead of decreasing her speed, Hellra maintained her speeder; she didn't care if this manoeuvre will cost her, her life, but nobody dares to hurt a hair of her friends. In a few seconds she could make the objects out, two masked men circling Emi, just as she thought. Hellra steered slightly to the right, her eyes fixated on the shorter men of the two. The both looked up, including Emi in surprise at the sound of a vehicle nearing.

Before either one of them could respond Hellra's speeder slammed into one of them killing him instantly, blood splattered over Hellra's face and armour, her eyes widened at the incoming tree that suddenly made it self visible. With a quick reflex she back flipped from her seat in reaction. The speeder blasted in the tree, going right through,, it continued its solo ride, the only cargo is the few remaining limbs, before it exploded. She landed in a neat crouch, her soot covered face glaring at the remaining man whose dagger were drawn, still pointing towards the pale, and quivering Emi.

Hellra's glare faltered for a few moments, since when did se had reflexes like that? How was she able to avoid death with mere reflexes that weren't trained in a long time, shovelling the thoughts to the back her mind, her glare returned, her objective replaying in her mind repeatedly. Kill...

"Emi run!" shouted Hellra as she darted from her crouched position towards the enemy. Her hand groped to her side for her dagger, but only a blank sheathe met her fingers, Cursing she grabbed her neuronic whip, and uncurled it by lashing it towards the man. He expertly dodged the lash. Not fazed by this, Hellra swung her self around to gain more strength as she lashed her whip out again. This time it caught the designated target; his neck. She tugged at it slightly, enough to bring him down to his knees as well as numbing him.

She took long strode over to him, her eyes darkened, rage stormed in her blue orbs, contrasting with her white face. She placed her foot on his torso. A blaster pistol pushed in his head. His neck released from the whip.

"Who. is. responsible. for. this?" growled Hellra, the man tried to back away from her angered glare. Hellra's eyes studied the man underneath her. He had small yet stout build. Her eyes widened as her eyes caught the rebel insignia underneath his left wrist. "Don't bother answering," she muttered raising her left hand. The blaster pistol gleamed in the early mourning sun. Hellra noticed the rebel's eye catch her own rebel insignia on her left wrist. Her gaze wavered uncomfortably. He saw it as well.
"Going to shoot one of your own?"
Silence answered him, he gave a confident smirk, but before Hellra could ponder on the question and matter at hand, a voice called out.
"Hell, catch!" Darr-Rann's voice seemed to break the silence that hung in the air, suddenly the chattering of the birds returned, the distant sounds of recruits being trained in the use of blasters sounded. Hellra's eyes snapped to Darr-Rann's stature, where he stood next to a petrified Emi. Hellra's hand shot in the air to catch the electro staff coming her way, but before her hand could enclose around it, she felt her self being knocked from her feet.

Her head connected to a small boulder behind her, her hair immediately caked with the sand and the blood that flowed from the fresh cut in her head. Black spots danced in front of her eyes as she fought to keep her mind in her grip of consciousness. She shook head and opened her eyes, just in time to dodge the activated electro staff designated to connect with her face. She rolled to the left, her hands groped for her blaster pistol and whip but neither was in reach. She left a slimy blood trail on the grass beneath her, under normal circumstances they would tickled her ears and made her body itch. But all these were forgotten as Hellra struggled for her life.

"Stay back Darr, this is my fight!" she yelled out to Darr-Rann who made an attempt to rush to her side. She rolled to left again, lengthening the distance between herself and her weapons by accident. Before she could see it, she sensed the weapon aiming at her stomach. She rolled right this time; she turned on her stomach and started scrambling for her weapons.

Before her hand gripped her blaster pistil firmly she felt something connection on her back, spreading a searing pain across her back, ensuring a broken rib as well. Hellra scream in the ground, her mouth tasted the ground, blood and spit dripped from her mouth. She gritted her teeth, suppressing the moan that wanted to emit from her lungs.

Luckily, the idiot doesn't seem to know it is an electro staff she though by her self.  She forced her self to turn around on her back again, her hand encasing her pistol firmly, she raised her right arm and aimed at the man, whom had both his hands raised to strike her. She pulled the trigger&a tear glided across her eyes, making its own pathway through her blood smeared face, it dripped from her chin on to her neck, a watery red now, it continued its lone journey till the tear dropped to ground, finding a final resting place. The rebel stumbled in his stance, his swaying stature lost its balance as he staggered around dropping the staff, her hand caught the staff before it could fall down on her. She pulled the trigger again; more tears spilled from her soaked eyes. How could she? Why was it so difficult to kill an enemy? She dropped her blaster pistol and electro staff, to caught up,, in a blank daze to notice her surroundings.

She grabbed the extended hand to pull her self up. Darr-Rann's hand gave her the comfort she needed now. She stole a quick glance towards Emi. She seems to have fainted, not injured at all, just shocked. She redirected her glance towards the rebel who was drowning in his own blood, gurgling and gasping for breath, and then his body betrayed him, giving it self up to death. She buried her head in Darr-Rann's shoulder. He could only hug her tightly as sobs racked through her body.

"I am supposed...supposed to be s-strong Darr, I have kill-killed before, why cant I now, wha---" she couldn't continue talking her sorrow, as her tears overwhelmed her.
"Shhh Hell, you are only a teenager, hush now...calm down...." Whispered Darr-Rann in her ear, Hellra tightened her hug around Darr-Rann, the man who became a brother to her in the Stormtrooper barracks. He pulled slightly away to gaze in her face.

"Hell, you're a good person, don't let this eat you" he tucked her hair behind her ear, his gaze turned confused, as he felt her body stiffened. He followed her gaze, which seemed to see something he did not. He turned around only to come faced to face with Dawn. She glared at him before turning her back on them, walking away.
"Go, Ill help Emi, you need to go" said Hellra composing her self, she pushed Darr-Rann away, making her way towards the crumpled form of her best friend. She quickly contacted medics from the academy to tend to Emi and her, and to dispose of the rebel body. Her gaze shifted to Darr-Rann's disappearing silhouette in the setting sun, to chase after Dawn before redirecting her gaze back to Emi.

While waiting for medics to arrive, she cradled her best friend's limp form in her arms.
"Never again.....", she whispered while rocking the limp unconscious form back and forth.
I promise, you wont get hurt again, as you got today, pain caused by me, by my past. I wont let it happen again," Hellra whispered feverously, her mind dropping in and out of consciousness. She gave into the blackness, her mind at ease for a while, before nightmares would start to plague her...

"Dawn, stop!" Darr-Rann said, running as hard as he could, "Dammit Dawn, please, stop and listen to me."
"Dammit she can run." He thought to himself as he pursued her. She finally stopped, turning to face him with such fury that Darr-Rann thought she was going to leap forwards and attack him. Instead she stood there.
"You should get back to Hellen." She said coldly, starting to turn and leave again.
"Dammit Dawn!" he said, running forwards to stop her. "It's not like that!"
Dawn turned to face him, now he could see the hurt look in her eyes.
"Dawn, she is my friend. Just a friend." he said, "She and her friend had just been attacked."
"I... I just thought..." She stammered, not knowing what to do.
"Its okay." Darr-Rann said, taking her in his arms. "Its okay..."
Suddenly, a sound... A slight sound...
"Dawn, look out!" He cried, drawing the vibrodagger at his belt. Spinning around, he thrust his arm forward, releasing the dagger, killing the charging assassin instantly. Grabbing the man's dropped vibroblade, he whirled around to face the two others. One of which held dawn.
"Dawn!" He cried out, charging forwards, blade ready. Suddenly the other jumped at him, kicking him square in the chest.
The man turned to face the other.
"Take this slut to the ship, our master will be pleased." The man said.
"Who is that?" Darr-Rann thought. "The same man... I know him..."
"YOU WILL NOT TOUCH HER!" Darr-Rann screamed, whirling his blade around in an arc, trying to kill the man in front of him. His blade was blocked, and they locked weapons together.
"You unfaithful bastard." The man said, shoving with his blade with a strength that rivaled his own. Darr-Rann stumbled slightly, but it was enough to cause an opening. The mans blade sliced forwards, cutting at his side. Darr-Rann cried out in agony, stumbling past, seeing the man bring Dawn onto a ship, just in the distance.
"NO!!!" He screamed, agony sounding out in his voice. Suddenly he was kicked to the ground from behind."
"You'll pay for betraying Sarah, you bastard."
Darr-Rann rolled and got to his feat, turning to face his opponent, who was removing the face cover he wore...
    "Keith..."

The two stood there for a moment, their blades held low but ready, facing each other.
"Your alive...?" Darr-Rann said, shocked. Keith smiled at this. "But... I saw you die..."
"You think you did." said Keith. "There are a few things you were mistaken about..."
He leaped forwards, stabbing. Keith blocked it, and they locked blades.
"What the hell do you mean by that?" Darr-Rann said, exerting himself to try and force his opponent back. This man had been his best friend, like a brother to him. And now, for reasons beyond his knowledge, they were enemies, in a combat he didn't think would ever happen.
Suddenly, he realized something. Keith was using Cedaan-ryu. There were only two masters of Cedaan-Ryu.
    "You work for Jad..."
"Yes. I do. As I  always have..."
Darr-Rann could take no more. "TRAITOR!" He screamed, running forwards to his opponent.    Keith did the same...
    Blood sprayed into the air....

Keith staggered forwards, a surge of pain overtaking him. He looked down to his right arm to find it missing, blood draining from the stump were it once was. He fell to his knees, finding his legs no longer able to support him. Suddenly he felt the cold metal edge of a blade against his neck.

"Were have they taken her?" Darr-Rann asked, his voice filled with anger.

"You... you'll never find them..." Keith responded, grinning to himself. Even if he died, Jad had captured the woman, and Darr-Rann would doubtlessly come to rescue her. Even if he did die, he would have vengeance. He suddenly felt very tired.

"No!" Darr-Rann cried out as he collapsed, his consciousness fading. Darr-Rann bent down, covering the wound with bandages from his kit, hoping to slow the bleeding. He then picked up the man, moving as fast as he could with the weight towards the hospital. As he ran, only one thought resided in his mind. If Keith died, Dawn would be lost...  He picked up speed, moving faster, exerting all of his strength to try and bring this man to safety. The doors slid open for him as he reached the facility and he hurried inside. The clerk at the desk looked up at him. "I need a ER team ready, now!" He said, running down towards the emergency wing. After a few moments a set of doctors came out to meet him. They took Keith and brought him over to a bed.

"We need to stabilize him!" One of them said, taking out a kit filled with surgical equipment.Darr-Rann staggered, the weight of the fight and his haste to reach the facility catching up to him.

"Attend to him." One of the doctors said to another. The woman moved to help to him, but he shook her off.

"I can take care of myself, just keep him alive!" he said. Then he staggered. The last thing he remembered was falling to the floor...

*

Darr-Rann woke with a start, sitting up. Tal ran over to him. "Darr, you okay?" He said. Just then Jeff ran in.

"Still no sign of her..." He turned to face Darr-Rann. "Oh, how long have you been awake?"

"I just got up now..." Darr-Rann said. Suddenly everything came flooding back to him. He jumped out of the bed, startling the other two. "Jad has Dawn, I have to go!" He said, running over to the locker which contained his possessions. When he had his equipment ready he ran to the door. Jeff stood in the way, barring him from leaving. "Dammit, GET OUT OF THE WAY!" He screamed at Jeff.

"Darr, just explain to us, what the hell is going on?" Tal said. Darr-Rann breathed deeply, calming himself. He then explained what had happened.

"Dawn and me were attacked. One of them managed to get dawn, while the other held me off." Suddenly remembrance overtook him. "I got to get to Keith."

"Come with me." Jeff said. "If your talking about that guy you took in, they moved him to a private room." They ran out the door.

*

They walked in to find Keith awake, laying in bed holding the stump were his arm had once been. He got up and turned to face them.
"Darr-Rann..." But the medic was there in a flash, a vibrodagger pressed to his former friend's throat. "Darr, please, stop, let me explain."

"Explain? I don't give a shit. Just tell me were they are taking Dawn!"

"Blenjeel." Keith said. "Please Rann..." But the medic was heading out the door. Suddenly he was stopped as a man walked in to the room.

"You may want to listen to him." Tyan't said, sitting down on a chair beside the bed. Darr-Rann sighed and walked over to the bed.

"Rann, I never meant to betray you. When we were captured during that raid on the republic police station..."

"I saw you die! I failed to stabilize you and you died!" Darr-Rann said

"Just wait a moment, I'll get to that. When were captured, Jad administered a special drug on me, called X-1-15. The drug is extremely rare, the formula to create it being long ago. I think Jad's supply is the last that exists. Anyways, the drug, in combination with a special device, can be used to create false information in the brain. He basically changed my memory into thinking that you killed Sarah, and that I had been his faithful warrior for my whole life. I was recently administered the antidote when it showed up in my blood testing."

"How come I don't remember any of this?" Darr-Rann asked, not understanding.

"Because he used it on you too. Only in a smaller degree, because he only needed to change one day's memories. Since he didn't use a great amount, it wouldn't be detectable." Darr-Rann thought for a moment, then blurted out.

"Sorry about your arm..." he said guiltily. Keith only grinned

"No problem, The imperial medical plan will cover it."

"You mean..." Darr-Rann said

"Yep, I'm enlisting. I'm going to be a med team member." Darr-Rann nodded, grinning. Then, suddenly, he remembered dawn.

"I have to go save her!" He said, turning and running to the door.

"Darr-Rann wait!" Tyan't said, getting up and passing him a needle. "Apply that, it'll kill the X-1-15 in you." Darr-Rann quickly shoved the point, pressing down.

"By the way Darr, Kal is coming to talk to you." Keith said. "I'm glad that kid is still alive, by the way. He said that he would transport you to Blenjeel on his ship, The Shadow Raven. Its a fast ship, it should get you there qui..." Suddenly everything was lost to Darr-Rann as memories came flooding back to him.

*

Blaster fire ripped across the battlefield. The resistance had the New Republic police station under siege, their communications jammed and their speeders destroyed. Soon nearby reinforcements would arrive, but the resistance had a blockade set up, ready to intercept. They would be able to hold at least long enough to demolish the building and capture the officers. Rannik, major general of the resistance, crouched behind the combat barriers they had set up, reloading his blaster. Suddenly a soldier nearby let out a cry as he was cut down by a blaster bolt. "Ethan!" Rannik cried out. as the young recruit was cut down. "You three." He said, pointing at a group of nearby medics. "Tend to him."

"Rann, look up there." Keith, his friend and fellow medic said, pointing up ahead. Rannik looked to were he was pointing, then his eyes widened. Among the rebels was his brother, Jad.

"What the hell is he doing?" Darr-Rann yelled over the sounds of battle. "Common, lets get some answers!" He drew his vibroblade  and rushed forward. Keith shrugged and ran forward too, taking some shots at a rebel fire team as he ran. Surprisingly, they managed to make it across the field unscratched. Rannik quickly dispatched two rebels who ran to meet them, decapitating one and stabbing the other. He moved gracefully, his blade delivering death to all who approached. Keith fought with a vibroblade too now, although more crudely because of his lack of training in the art which Rannik had been raised on. They soon reached Jad. "What the hell are you doing? Fighting for the enemy!" Rannik asked furiously.

"Ah, brother. The New Republic has offered my an officers position for my intelligence. Your about to pay for what you did."

"What? What the hell are you talking about?" Suddenly the sounds of engines flared out, and a swarm of LAAT/i flew up from the streets below and opened fire upon the resistance members. In the distance he could see his fiance Sarah calling back the troops. "You damn traitor!" he cried out, taking a swing of his blade at his brother, who blocked it with ease. Jad kicked Rannik in the stomach. He then swung his arm around, hitting Keith in the head with the handle of his blade, knocking the man out cold.

"Just you and me brother..." Jad said, bringing his blade up and swinging it around. Rannik barely had time to block, his sword flying out of his hands as he did so. Jad brought his weapon around quickly, cutting Rannik across his left eye. The medic swore as his vision slid out of focus, then he lost consciousness as a fist smashed across the back of his head...

*

Darr-Rann awoke to find he was pinned down to a table. He couldn't see very well, but he could hear Keith breathing on the table next to his.

"Its a pity." Jad's voice sounded out. "You'll probably have that scar for life. Oh well." Darr-Rann tried to get free.

"Damn you Jad, what the hell is wrong with you!"

"Be quiet." Said another voice. "It is time to begin the injection..."

*

Darr-Rann shook his head. "I can't believe it..."

"Hey Darr, Demonic has arrived at orbit, you better get ready." Tal said, looking at his datapad. Darr-Rann nodded, running out the door towards the barracks. He felt a inferno of determination fill him. Jad would not hurt Dawn. He needed her to lure him there. And he was about to go right in, trap or not. He would save her, and he would finally confront his brother...

00C: Was a bit bored, so I made a quick type,

Darr-Rann sat silently beside Keith, a friend though lost, now back, at his side. His deathly pale friend's eyes fluttered open. He bolted upright as if something was chasing him. His ragged breathing came fast and hard,
"Keith, relax," ordered Darr-Rann pushing Keith back down.
"You are going after him?"
"Yes, of course, he has Dawn," answered Darr-Rann automatic. Silence hung between the former best friends, even though they have been under the influence of drugs and had their memories modified, too much has happened to continue their lives as if nothing happened. Darr-Rann gripped Keith's hand tightly; with Keith back things might be different now.

"Better get going then I suppose" muttered Darr-Rann

"You are, not going anywhere Rannik, that's exactly what Jad expects you to do, and want you to do," said a soft female voice, Darr-Rann saw Keith's curious glance at the figure standing in the shadow of the door.
Her gaze fell on Keith, Hellra's gaze fell on Keith, her small set frown turned in a hating glare
"Isn't he the one who tried to kill Em and kidnapped Dawn?" she asked, her temper rising. She stepped out from the shadows of the door&...

"Hellen, just let me..." Darr-Rann began, but he was cut off by Keith

"Wait a minute... Your Hellra! Rann, she works for Jad!"

"She isn't..." Darr-Rann started.

"I'm not on his side any longer! Who the hell are you to accuse, your one of his assassins!"

"Hellen, he's..."

"Hah! I had no choice. Unlike you."

"SHUT THE HELL UP!" Darr-Rann screamed at the top of his lungs, his frustration finally getting the better of him. He had been trying to contain himself. The emotions he was feeling at the moment were hard to handle. He didn't need two of the best friends he ever had at each other.

"Hellen hasn't been working for Jad for a long time Keith. She's on our side. And you, do you think I would be sitting here with him if I knew he was working for Jad? He was brainwashed. Some drug Jad has allowed him to do this to Keith. I trust him just as much as I trust you." Darr-Rann started to head towards the door. "Now if you'll excuse me, that bastard has Dawn!"

Hellra blocked the way, shaking her head. "Didn't you hear what I said? He's luring you in to a trap!"

"Don't you think I know that? I have no choice. I need to get her back. I need to confront him once and for all." Darr-Rann replied. Hellra stood there for a moment, then moved out of his way.

"Good luck Darr. I hope you live through this." she said.

"Good luck Rannik. Make sure you kill him, wont you?" Keith added in.

"Thank you two. I'll need it." Darr-Rann responded, and with that, he walked out the door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was 8 years ago. Jad and Rannik clashed their training swords,  pushing back and attacking again. Their father watched, waiting for one of them to fail. They were doing well, neither showing any signs of tiring. Of course, Jad would probably win in the end. The older brother had more years of training, and eventually he would see an opportunity that the younger could not yet recognize.

"You ready to give up?" Jad said with a grin on his face. Rannik shook his head and laughed.

"Have I ever given up?" He said, bringing his sword up to parry Jad's downward strike. Jad quickly ducked and slashed at his brother's unprotected side, but Rannik moved back to avoid the strike entirely. They clashed again and again, then finally, Jad swung at Rannik's head...

Jad swore as Rannik dodged his attack, slamming his sword into his older brothers side. Jad stood there for a few moments, in shock.

"It seems I've won." Rannik said, lowering his blade.

"Not yet!" Jad said, hitting his brother in the arm. Rannik could feel the bone break. Jad kicked him in the chest and raised his wooden sword over his head. The blade was dull, but it was still powerful enough to seriously injure him. Rannik raised his unbroken arm to defend himself... But the attack never came. He looked up to see Jad holding his sword in disbelief. He had owned the training weapon for years, caring for it and training with it. Their father stood with his sword, a real one, held in the air. He had cut the wooden blade in two as it was being swung.

"Never do that again!" the father said angrily, returning his blade to his side. "You broke his arm! You could have killed him! You lost the match, so what? There are other fights. What you did is dishonorable."

"You ruined my sword!" Jad said angrily, stalking out of the room. His brother was on the floor with his arm broken, and all he cared about was his sword...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Darr, get aboard, I already have the coordinates programmed in for Blenjeel." Demonic said, waving at him from the opened cockpit of the Shadow Raven, a CRF-156T Raven scout transport, which he had painted entirely black. The ships powerful engines were humming, ready to take off. Darr-Rann climbed up into the ship, putting the helmet for his Katarn Commando armor and his gear in the passenger's seat. He then sat down in the Co-pilot's seat, strapping himself in.

"Let's go." He said, and Demonic pressed a button to seal the cockpit. He then brought the ship upward until they had cleared the surface by a good distance. Punching the engines, the pilot took the ship out of the hanger and up into the atmosphere.

"Alright, in a few moments we'll begin the jump to hyperspace." Demonic said, slowing his sublight engines. "It will only be a matter of hours before we arrive."

"Thanks for doing this Kal." Darr-Rann said. The Shadow Raven was a faster ship then Darr-Rann's personal transport, and he still hadn't bothered to learn how to fly the thing yet.

"No problem. You've helped me out in a ton of situations." Demonic said in reply. "Here we go, engaging Hyperdrive..." The stars suddenly shot forward, everything turning into a blur. They were in hyperspace. "We are now traveling at one half hyperdrive speed. Darr-Rann was impressed, A hyperspace factor of one was considered fast.

"And we're on our way..." Said Darr-Rann, anxiously waiting for arrival.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The ship pulled out of hyperspace, it's sublight engines coming alive. Demonic pressed a few buttons, then turned to Darr-Rann. "Okay, do you know were we'll be landing?" He asked, approaching the atmosphere

"Err... No, I only know that they have her on Blenjeel."

"Okay. Well, my sensors can't get through this sandstorm... Wait." He raised speed to 130MGLT. "Do you see that blip of light? It looks like a guide for landing ships. I'd imagine they'd still want to be able to land their ships during a storm." He entered the atmosphere and they came closer and closer to the light. Soon Darr-Rann could make out a large structure sitting in the sand. It was a cylinder shape, with platforms attached all around it. The guide light flared repeatedly. Barriers stood around the structure at a small distance, projecting shields to keep most of the sand out. Demonic flew down onto a lower platform.

"This is as far as I can take you. I doubt this entrance is open, but I can see a open garage on the bottom for speeders. If you can lower yourself there with your grappling gun, you should be able to get in." He opened up this ship for Darr-Rann, who put his pack on and grabbed his helmet before he jumped out. He put on the helm, and the display snapped to life instantly.

"Ah good, the visor cleans itself of any sand that gets on it." He said to Demonic over it's built in com. "Okay, wish me luck. I'll tell you when I need extraction. Since this suit has health screening built in, you can monitor it with the program on the datacard I gave you. If I die, leave." He waved to the pilot, who took off out of the storm.

Darr-Rann walked over to the door, and indeed found the platform locked. "Shit." He muttered, taking out his grappling hook gun, latching it on to the edge of the platform. He then climbed off, lowering himself to the garage ramp by extending the rope of the grappling gun. Suddenly the sand below burst forth, a Blenjeel sand worm shooting forth to try and devour him. Darr-Rann left go of the rope with one hand, drawing his Vibroblade. Pulling himself up so that his legs were above his head, he slashed down at the open maw of the monster, cutting it across the outside of it's mouth. The creature shrieked and lowered itself to the sand once more. Quickly Darr-Rann swung himself to the now close garage, pulling his Grappling gun free as he did. As he landed, be brought his blade down on the head of an unfortunate guard who had come out to see what was going on, splitting his head open. He ran forward silently, dispatching another guard who had ran out. Suddenly a man dressed in light black armor with a face mask stepped out and drew a vibroblade. They stood for a few moments, then the man leaped forward.

Darr-Rann had predicted the move. Rolling on to his back, he brought his feet up and kicked the man in the stomach, sending him flying overhead. He got to his feet and jumped forward, swinging his blade down in an attempt to finish his opponent. He only met ramp though, the man rolling aside, he swore and locked with the man blade and blade.

"Prepare to die..." The man hissed at him, shoving him back and nearly off the ramp. He heard the sound of the sand behind him churning. He summoned all of his focus to throw himself down the ramp. The attacker who had moved to shove him in, screamed with agony as the worm caught him and digested. As it stayed upright, consuming it's victim, Darr-Rann rushed forward and slashed it with his vibroblade, bearly severing the monster but killing it anyways, it's great body, still half submerged in sand, crashed down. Darr-Rann sped up the ramp, jumping off into the entrance of the building just in time, as the ramp came down from the force of the blow.

"Well, that was fun..." Darr-Rann muttered as he put away his blade, walking inside...

Was bored, so I wrote this.
The sun beat down on her with pleasant warmth that didn't reach her heart. The latter remained frozen, She was seated on one the benches watching the new recruits. They needed some new blood for the Dragoons.  Perfect place to study some possible future Dragoons. Her troopers have been dropping from the squad like dead flies. Remnants of Caitlin and Arzano's face hovered in her mind before she pushed it away hastily.
"Sergeant...um...Evani?'
Evani snapped away from her troubled thoughts to the cause of disturbance.
A middle-aged man saluted her as their eyes met. In his stiffened hand, an inactivated datapad resided.
"Message to you" he said and handed her the datapad.
With frowning curiosity and worry she took the datapad and muttered a small thanks.

The messenger was long gone, but Evani remained seated, the datapad remained inactive at her side. Unread.
Darr-Rann left a few days ago to save Dawn. He hasn't returned. Keith was long ago kicked from the hospital.
She was actually waiting for him. Agitated she glanced at her watch.
"Late"
Evani scoffed as she tucked a stray spiky curl behind her ear. Lately her hair has grown in waving spiked fashion with a few accidental curls poking out from under the locks.

From tucking the stubborn curl, her hand raked through her hair. She scoffed again feeling a knot forming.
three minutes and he's roasted she thought angrily. Disappointment grew when a familiar, yet unwanted voice called behind her.
"Hellra"
"Keith"
Evani gave a curt nod.
"Since you guys are best friends, or was, I guess you will be stayin with Rann and me, drop your stuff here, I have someone picking them up, follow me" ordered Evani coldly, her trust for Keith not running very deep. He seemed to feel the same. Evani ignored the wince when she mentioned his and Darr-Rann's friendship.

"I don't have any stuff," said Keith, he crossed his arms and glared at Evani with a superior smirk.
They were going to be hard enemies.

"Follow Me," ordered Evani still trying to ignore the bigger presence of his existence. She stuffed the unread datapad hastily in her sling bag as she stood up and started walking.
For a few moments nothing was said as Evani lead them. Keith's head snapped up to a large chime, his alert glance slackened when he noticed the recruits around him were allowed to head back their barrack to take a shower and prepare for classes. Evani rounded a corner around one of the academy buildings, leading them to a small port. They entered the hangar like building; various models of swoops and air vehicles were parked in different colour spots. Evani trudged over to a pair of speeders lined against the wall. Heat spread through her fingers when she placed her hand on one of the seats, pleasantly warmed by the sun.

"Get on, have to give you tour I suppose, I'm taking my usual detour, so you will have to find the short cuts on the planet your self" said Evani curtly motioning him to a speeder.
He raised his eyebrows at it.
"You race?" he said when noticing the typical traits a racing speeder bore.

"Used to race with pods, speeders will do as well," muttered Evani brusquely as she hopped on. Keith followed her example.

Before he had the chance to find the activation switch for his speeder Evani shot off nearly crashing into some pedestrians and recruits working nearby.
Within seconds Evani was on one the domestic roads leading out of the academy.
Blurs zipped past Evani as she sped down to the gate. An fortification was squared around the academy covering a few thousand square miles. The grey durasteel bars which stretched into a square meter each was wired with electrocutes. It was an spoiling sight to the scenario of mother nature. Guard towers were situated at every hundred meters. She swore softly when she saw the gate was closed. Meaning she had to stop at the office next to it. Meaning useless paper works, and wasting time.

Reluctantly she put her self through the paper work, as well as helping Keith with his registration, much to her displeasure. But after a hour or two they managed to escape the offices.

Evani skied to stop in front of her home. A massive palace she and Darr-Rann shared along with two other pilots from the navy. She looked in wonder at the garden, each time amazed by the astonishing detail that went in it. She hasn't had this luxury since she was a girl when she stayed with her foster family.

As they walked up marble stairs one of the many butler droids the palace possessed came down to greet them. His circuits produces a noise at each step and move he took, making after a while annoying to have on the models in one's presence.
"Mrs. Evani I didn't know you were bringing home family today" said the droid as he took the bag Evani carried oblivious to her protests. His comment made both choke on their breath. They glanced at the droid, then at each other and back at the droid.
"We are NOT family," they both muttered rolling their eyes. Evani cocked her head to the side curiously.
"Why do you say that?
The droid if possible seemed to be surprised at her enquiry.
"Facial expressions and traits match 35% Ma'am"
Evani's eyes widened.
How can that be possible?!?"

RE: Losses of Vandetta (Hellra and Darr-Rann)

Darr-Rann looked around, examining the room. It was large and cylinder shaped, with a lift in the center. Lining the walls were various sandcrawling armored vehicles and tanks, which a few astromech droids were maintaining. Walking over to the lift, He pressed the button to open the door and he walked inside, pressing the button to bring it to the top floor.

"If anywhere, thats were he'd be waiting. Darr-Rann thought, checking the ammunition on his A280 and leaning back against the rail of the lift. "He likes to be were he has a sense of control. And he would be guarding Dawn personally" Suddenly the lift stopped.

Darr-Rann walked out into a long hall. It was dark, except for the light which shone through the great windows which lined the walls. He could see that outside the sandstorm still raged, blinding the tower from anything outside. Darr-Rann walked down the hallway, looking around
for Jad. "He could be anywhere..." The soldier thought as his footsteps echoed through the wallway, filling the room. Suddenly he spotted Dawn. She stood there, vibroblade in hand.

"Dawn, how did you get free?" He asked. She only raised her blade, a blank expression in her eyes. "Dawn, what are you doing..." Suddenly, a familiar voice filled the chamber.

"Would you kill her to save your own life?" Jad said from the speakers around the top of the room. Dawn ran down towards him, lunging forward with her vibroblade. Darr-Rann drew his blade and blocked, the weapons clashing together. They exchanged a series of blows, although Darr-Rann was dominating the fight.

"Dawn, why are you doing this?" he screamed, disarming her and pushing her back. She lunged at her blade, grabbing it and raising it again for another assault.

"You killed them... Everyone! Tal, Jeff, my entire squad. You murdered them all!" She cried, slashing down at his head. Suddenly Darr-Rann understood. Jad had given her the drug...

"Dawn, I wont fight you!" He yelled, swinging his arm out to the side, holding his blade away from him. An intense pain filled him as her blade stabbed into his chest,  sending him falling backward to the ground...

------------------------------

Darr-Rann lay on the ground, his surroundings lost to him. He could taste blood in his mouth,  but could no longer feel his wound. The only thing he could think about his how he had failed Dawn, just has he had failed Sarah, as life slowly began to slip away from him...

Darr-Rann opened his eyes to a blinding white light. He attempted to get up, but he found his arms and .legs bound by metal rings. He didn't have a pain were he was stabbed, and he looked down at his chest to see that the wound had been treated and sealed.

He heard an unfamiliar voice. "Ah... your finally up. Don't bother listening, you wont remember any of this soon." There was the sound of footsteps against a durasteel floor, and then the sudden click of keys being pressed.

A voice Darr-Rann knew. "Yes?" Jad said.

"The subject has awoken. I'm reporting to you as ordered." The unfamiliar voice said again.

"Acknowledged. Proceed." There were more footsteps, then Darr-Rann felt a prick against his arm. He struggled uselessly, but could not break free. Suddenly he felt a cold fluid enter through what he assumed was an injector. He faded from consciousness once again....

------------------------------

Jad smiled a false smile as he walked with his brother. "I'm so glad you decided to fight for me, brother."

"I am too." Darr-Rann said in response. He still wore his armor, but he also now carried an energy shield bearing the symbol of the Cedaan family. They walked through the hallways of the mid-level of the structure,  talking as they did during the days when they had been at peace. "Hey Jad?"

"Yes Rannik?" Jad responded,  a slight grin on his face.

"You say I'm going to lead an attack on the republic and the imperial factions. But with what army?" Darr-Rann asked him.

"I am glad you asked. Take a look for yourself." They reached a window. Darr-Rann looked through it to see the factory below. Hundreds of various machines assembled Battle Droids, a gigantic factory of war. Below people could be seen loading the droids into cargo speeders. "With this army, we shall be unstoppable."

They proceeded...

------------------------------

Dawn felt uneasy. She had defeated Rannik, the monster who killed her squad mates, and Jad had given her employment within his new army. He would wipe out the betraying Vast Empire and the conquerer Republic, and bring peace to the galaxy under his order.

But why did he take Rannik under his service?

And why was it that when she had stabbed him, why did she feel the urge to cry, and a terrible pain inside?

Things seemed wrong. As if they weren't how they should be. She thought long and hard as she sat on her bed, looking through factory reports.

Suddenly she started having images. Images of Rannik and Tal laughing together. Images of the same man opening a present, looking up at her and smiling. Images of looking into his eyes, as he leaned forward and kissed her...

She threw her datapad furiously into the wall, shattering the device into pieces. She didn't understand. This man was a monster, he caused her so much grief...

Yet why did she have these buried memories?

Why was it that when she saw him during their fight, for a moment, she felt at peace?

She took a walked over to were the remnants of her datapad sat, and began gathering up the pieces.

------------------------------

Earlier, five hours after Darr-Rann's defeat.

"Rann, come in! Rann!?" Demonic called out into his headset. He took a moment to think. Then he angled his communications out into space. In a few minutes he established contact with Evani.

"You need to get over here, Darr-Rann's in trouble. I lost contact with him and..."

"Were are you?" Evani cut off.

"I'm on Blenjeel in the Dark Raven. You need to get over here, I..."

"Can you pick me up?"

Demonic took a moment, remembering the journey here. "Okay. Blenjeel is close, I'll be right over."

------------------------------

Darr-Rann, Dawn, and Jad stood in the "Grand Chamber", the room in which the earlier fight had taken place.

"This factory is the center of our crusade. It produces thousands of war droids even as we speak. We will win." He walked over to a door at one of the walls. "Come here, I want to show you something."

After a short elevator ride, they walked out onto the top of the roof. It was a metal circle, with a computer off to the side. "Look out there." Jad said, pointing off into the distance. Smaller towers were visible around the area.

"Those are the secondary factories. They are linked to generator in this one. They each produce more droids then you could count. This is the reality of what the empire and the republic will face." Suddenly the sound of a blade being drawn echoed through the air. Jad turned and drew his blade just in time to block Darr-Rann's attack...

My previous callsign was Evani, read my bio to understand.
This post, and the following might not be very detailed, and the following posts' writing quality may be of poor standard. Unfortunatly, Darr and I has left this story hanging for quite a while, and we lost track of the timeline within VE. This specific post is just to get the ball rolling again.

"What the hell did Darr think he was doing?"  Evani sighed.
Close to her another sigh followed. Demonic shook his head.
"Don't ask me Eve, I didn't have a bro, but I can tell these really love each other.
"You think?" Evani refrained from snorting, and crossed her arms. They were on their way back to Blenjeel. Bags of sleepless nighs grew under her eyes, her hair was tied together, uncombed and tangled. She haven't had a decent night of sleep since Darr-Rann left. Closing her eyes, she relaxed her body as she sunk into the chair.

Since returning from Lopen and the Academy, something deeper within her was more alive then she has  ever  felt. Her senses were heightened, even though not much, as well as her reactions. It was a deadly secret she was keeping from Darr-Rann, but she had no choice. She sighed again.

Landing on Blenjeel

"Demonic, I think it is better if you wait here, in case we need to make a hasty escape," Evani muttered as she jumped from her seat. Demonic grunted in protest. As if reading his thoughts, Evani laughed.
"Don't be silly fly-boy, who's got the ground experience?" she muttered. Her cocky comment caught them both off guard. Shaking her head vigorously, Evani made a hasty exit. Demonic, shocked, stared at her retreating back.
"That's not D's Evani I know," he muttered as he slipped back into his seat, readying himself for a long wait.

Trusting her instincts, Evani rushed from corridor, to corridor, annihilating those in her way all the way.
"Where the frak could he be?" she muttered her eyes scanning the area as pulled a dagger from the dead man on the ground. The metallic blood that stained the blade was intriguing, she swiped the dagger clean on the fabric of her pants. A terminal across the corridor tucked into space opening into the corridor glimpsed at her. Her hands quickly found a security card clipped on the dead man's utility belt.

"Where are you now Cedaan?" she asked. Within seconds she logged into the main frame, and was now scanning the security cameras.
"Shit" The two figures with clashing swords met her eyes.
Grand Chamber... She  knew, interrupting that fight would be a mistake, but Dawn also needed to get out, and Darr-Rann needed to get out alive. Twisting her head around to inspect for any enemies, she turned it back to the terminal and attached the headset to her mouth. Setting the controls quickly, she attempted to make contact through the intercom.
"Dawn, if you can hear me, its me Evani, get out of there, I will meet you in front of the Grand Chamber's doors," Evani glanced at the security camera. It worked, the fight stopped momentarily  as the two men along with Dawn looked about surprised. One of the men suddenly threw himself against the opponent into the wall, and kept him there in a strangle. She assumed it was Darr-Rann on the offense, because Dawn was suddenly running away, out of the frame. She quickly made her way to the Grand Chamber as well.

"What on hell?"

Evani dodged away from the incoming dagger heading her way. Landing on all fours she glanced at Dawn wide-eyed. The latter smirked, her one hand leaning gracefully on her hip, her other hand was twirling a dagger about.

"What do you think are you doing!"

Evani brushed the dust-particles from her hands off as she stood up. Dawn sneered,
"Either you are with us, or against us. The latter choice is ultimate death obviously. Darr destroyed everything, it was he who killed them!" Dawn balled her free hand into a fist as her posture lowered into a crouch.
"So he got you huh?
Evani stepped closer to Dawn, her face remained calm. The Grand Chamber's door were still open, and in the far distance behind Dawn, Evani could make out two silhouettes, constantly moving around or at each other. Her azure eyes snapped back to Dawn.

"Lets not fight, you are not your self. Let me and Darr help you."
Dawn chuckled while flicking the dagger from one hand to the other. Evani tensed up slightly as Dawn started circling her.
"Don't do this! Darr is madly in love with you, and would die for you! Fight whatever Cedaan has done!" Her voice echoed through the stone halls into Dawn's ears.
Momentarily Dawn's hesitated in her footsteps. In their silence they could hear the cries from the two brothers fighting each other.

Two large wooden statues seated in chairs were situated on either side of the Grand Chamber entrance. Their heads reached into the high ceiling from above. The ceilings were connected with a series of black marble pillars. Strong winds bellowed from the West Entrance to the Hall, shadows danced about the tiled floors as the wind and fire from the torches lining the wall coiled around each other furiously.

Evani cocked her head to the side.
"Nice place, a bit dark. Cedaan can offer you so much more then Darr-Rann can't he? Even though a Sergeant, he's quite pathetic isn't he?"

The woman across the hall seemed slightly bewildered at Evani's change of mindset.
"What is this about?"  She inquired cautiously.
"And being a Squad Leader? I guess Darr-Rann has some high contacts from above to have gotten that, because he would never have done it on his own. My, my."
"Shut-up!"

Evani dropped her head a bit and smirked.
"Excuse me? I thought we are against the piece of slime, and-shit!"
Evani jumped backwards, but Dawn was to quick for her and grabbed her by her hair. Evani shrieked as Dawn forced her down to the floor by means of pulling her hair.
"Shut up, Shut up, Shut up!"
In one swift moment Evani coiled her self into a fetal position in order to reach her own custom dagger. Within the second her fingers managed curl around the slender hilt, she brought it down behind her head, cutting the hair and freeing her self in the process.

Evani rolled to the right as Dawn stared confused at the hundreds of blond strands falling from her  hand. Evani scrambled to her feet hastily and darted for the statue on the left. She reached for the remaining dagger in her utility and hurtled it into the wooden leg of the statue. As she neared the statue with alarming speed she  mustered all her strength and jumped. As planned she managed to step on the dagger and use it as a sport and shot her self a bit higher up before slamming the remaining dagger in her hand into the wood. Ignoring the shock that trembled through her hand into her shoulder, she tried to push the dagger in even deeper before she pulled her self up steadily. With delicate balance she stood on the hilt of the dagger, her hands reached up and within a second she managed to find some grip on the smoothly sculpted kneecap. With little difficulty she heaved her self over the edge and remained seated with her legs dangling over the edge.

From below Dawn glared at her.
"Now, seeing as you don't have a blaster, and without you trying to kill me, lets talk."

Evani uncoiled a rope from her utility belt.
"About?"
"Darr-Rann. Just Rannik. No Jad Cedaan, no certain death. Why did you stood up for him?"
"Who?"
"Don't play dumb," Evani allowed her self to laugh. She could sense Dawn's inner turmoil. Both she and Evani knew what just happened when Evani insulted Darr-Rann.
Evani formed a small loop in the rope and dropped it down against the leg of the statue. After a few tries, she managed to land the loop around the hilt of her dagger. With a swift move the loop tightened and Evani managed to free the dagger from it's wooden cage.
"And what guy makes a statue of him self?"
Evani glanced up at the stern sculpted face of Cedaan overlooking the hall.
"Hmh, Darr and Jad has the same nose it seems,"

Silence reigned momentarily while Evani inspected her dagger for any damage that might have been inflicted on the strong blade.
"Dawn, please try and remember?" Evani sheathed her dagger back into her boot before turning her head to Dawn. Before Dawn could reply, however, a body flew pass her back. Both females' heads snapped to the face.
"Rannik!" Evani jumped up from her seated position.
"Dawn, eliminate her!" Cedaan stepped through the Grand Chamber, smirking as he wiped the trickling river of blood from the corner of his mouth. Any hesitation that resided in Dawn was gone. She gave a curt nod to Cedaan and walked to the nearest torch still alight and unhooked it.
"Don't do this Dawn!" Evani shouted to no avail. Dawn neared the statue Evani was located on and held the flaming torch to the wood.  For a moment the fire had no effect as it simply licked against the strong varnish of the wood, but this was only momentarily.

In a matter of seconds Evani was surrounded by  the coiling serpents of fire. Above the crackling flames and howling winds, she could hear Cedaan's chuckle.
Darr! Desperately Evani searched her body like a tribal dancer for anything that might be handy. However, nothing protruded forth. With no other choice or option in mind, Evani leaped from the statue through the flames, flying a good three meters towards the ground. Blood shred itself from her as Dawn's dagger met with her in midair before she fell to the ground. Sharp pain shot up through her ankle and arm. The fall went nasty on her leg. Evani winced tenderly as she touched her arm. The leg could still work after a few steps, but her arm....it need stitches.

Dawn's shadow touched her face.
"Frak it, Dawn, don't! Darr and I don't want to hurt you!" Evani shouted clutching her arm while blood poured through the gaping wound. Dawn's face didn't waver nor quiver, her dagger was simply raised.
Evani dropped her head slightly while still keeping her opponent in sight.
"I'm sorry Dawn," she whispered before lunching forward, forcing the thought of the pain in her arm away. Catching the female off guard she grabbed her by her wrist and brought it sharp over her knee, a scream shrieked from the Dawn's lips. Evani did not stop her there. Still clutching the wrist Evani turned Dawn's arm upside down before bringing her injured yet operational arm down on Dawn's elbow. Evani smirked, forgetting momentarily that this was the woman Darr-Rann loved. She twisted the broken arm and wrist up behind Dawn's back, forcing her further into the ground then she already were. Evani leaned over to her ear.
"Like I said, We....Darr-Rann never wanted to hurt you. Tell him I am sorry. " With a sharp uppercut to her neck Dawn slumped to the ground, soft groans escaped her lips. Evani clenched her fists, her chest heaving up and down. In the background the clashing of blades has resumed long ago. Evani dragged Dawn's unconscious body away from the fire that was vastly spreading over to the rest if the room and laid her down in the middle of the hall on the stone cold floo where the fire couldn't reach. She turned to the fighting brothers.

"Darr, what can I do!?"
Darr-Rann's focus never wavered as he blocked another lunge from Cedaan. Sweat was pouring from his face, dripping to the ground in a mixture of blood.
"Get to the isolation room, shut the production!" He managed to scream through clenched teeth. Cedaan paled.
"NO!"

"Get to the isolation room, shut the production!" Darr-Rann yelled out to Evani through clenched teeth, pushing his brother back a step as their blades locked.

"NO!" Jad screamed, paling. He attempting to break free to stop her, but Darr-Rann blocked his way. Jad gritted his teeth angrily, then cackled. "Your sending her to her death. She'll never get past the security."

Darr-Rann shot his elbow forward, catching Jad by surprise and hitting him in the gut. He slashed down on the man's undefended head, but it was quickly blocked as Jad recovered. Darr-Rann could barely block as his opponents blade weaved in an intricate pattern Jad had always been a superior swordfighter to his younger brother, and he only seemed to have improved since then.

"Come now, Rannik." The older brother said, a grin crossing his face, "Surely you can't be wearing down already? I'm having so much fun." Darr-Rann looked around for something He needed to change the scenario. Then he spotted the lift at the side of the room. It was a semi-circle about one and a half meters in radius, with a small control panel mounted on the inside.

"Just getting started." He muttered, throwing all of his wait forward into Jad and sending them both stumbling back into the lift. Darr-Rann hit the "Up" button, causing the doors to close as it ascended towards the roof. Jad stabbed at him, but Darr-Rann managed to block the blow and lock their blades once more.

Suddenly, Jad threw his shoulder forward, tackling Darr-Rann into the glass wall. It cracked, and his helmet HUD flickered as the back of his head made contact. Suddenly he remembered something The  shield Jad had given him. He grabbed the devise of of his belt, the projection plate fitting over the back of his hand. He held it between them and squeezed the trigger, the solid energy flicking to life and pushing Jad away from him. It separated them in the cramped elevator, allowing for a moment of rest.

"So." Jad said, "What do you say we finish this here, hm? I've enjoyed making you suffer all of these years, but you've begun to become a bit of a nuisance. About time to wrap things up before I move on to your pitiful little factions."

Darr-Rann forced himself to bury down his anger It would only make him reckless, and that was very dangerous against an opponent like Jad One bad move and you could have a blade through the ribs. "It is going to end here." The stormtrooper said, "Your going to pay for every person you've hurt."

The door slid open as they reach the roof, and Darr-Rann backed out, shield still held in front of him. Jad took a few slow steps forward, twirling his sword around carelessly.

Suddenly the he lunged, but Darr-Rann deflected the blade off of the energy shield, backing up a bit further. They stood on the roof of the grand chamber, on the very top of the facility. In the distance, Darr-Rann could see other towers, surrounding this one. Metal Bridges connected  them, and in the distance he thought he could make out a cargo freighter landing to pick up a cargo of droids. The desert sun reflected harshly on the metal floor.

Jad swung his blade around, catching Rannik's shield again and causing him to back up a few more steps The stormtrooper realized he was being driven towards the edge. Jad stabbed at him once more, and this time hit the metal projection plate in the center. When the blade withdrew the shield flickered and disappeared. Darr-Rann cast aside the device, taking his sword in both hands and adjusting his stance.

Suddenly, an intercom mounted on the floor echoed out. "SELF DESTRUCT SEQUENCE ACTIVATED FOURTY MINUTES UNTIL SELF DESTRUCT. REPEAT, FOURTY MINUTES TO SELF DESTRUCT."

Jad went pale once more, and muttered out a curse. Darr-Rann laughed at his brother. "I told you that it's ending here. Regardless if I defeat you or not, you're dying here."

The older brother shook with rage for a moment, then composed himself. "You fool." He muttered. "I told you that you've sent your friend to her death, and I mean it. The isolation room locks down in the situation of a self destruct, and can only be opened by my key." Jad reached into his belt and withdrew a metal strip, engraved on the sides with a complex pattern.

"Come and take it."

"SHIT! SHIT!"
Evani slammed her fists against the door that just cut her off from her escape.
She spun around with wild eyes, her focus jumping from one corner to the other, each covered in an ominous glow emitting from the piece technology situated in the middle of the room. The piece of-
"crap!"  Aeos  clenched her fists in panic at the situation, she had no means of escape. No means of life in approximately forty minutes.

Aeos dragged her nails across her face, leaving faint bloodlines behind. She bolted to the controls again and started slamming the control boards with her bare fists in hopes of  escapes.

"COUNTDOWN CHANGED TO 15 MINUTES, COUNTDOWN CHANGED TO 15 MINUTES,"

"Holy frak!"
Evani's knees gave way losing all hope. What was she going to do?

"COUNTDOWN CHANGED TO FIFTEEN MINUTES, COUNTDOWN CHANGED TO FIFTEEN MINUTES." The artificial voice rang out over the speakers.

What the hell? That's not a very big window, Evi. He thought to himself. He parried a strike as Jad pushed him closer to the edge of the platform.

"That bitch." Jad said, clenching his teeth and shaking with rage, "I wanted to enjoy taking my time to kill you. Now I'll have to hurry it along!" He punctuated the end of this statement with a lunging stab, which Darr-Rann sidestepped. Jad fought with one hand, the other grasping the key.

Suddenly the stormtrooper shot his elbow forward, catching his brother in the chest and sending him stumbling back a few steps. He swung his sword at mid-length, forcing Jad back another few steps. Slowly, he pushed Jad back closer to the center.

"Your trying so hard." Jad said, sneering. Rannik caught something in his brother's voice though fear. Maybe he could actually win this. Jad swiped his sword in quick, light cuts, but Darr-Rann parried each of them. He returned with a heavy overhead swing, sending the older brother back another few steps.

"Your losing, Jad. You have to see that." Rannik said, his confidence rising. The stormtrooper pushed further and further, until Jad was nearly at the edge of the platform, opposite to were he stood only a minute ago.

Jad looked around him, looking for some way to turn the tide once more. He looked down at the key in his hand, then back up at his brother. "You want your friend to live?" He asked, "Then CATCH!" He threw the key up in the air...

Darr-Rann surged forward, disregarding his brother If he lost that key, Evani would be trapped. It was over the edge of the platform, and he reached out... And caught it with the tips of his fingers.

Suddenly, there was a muffled panging sound, and he felt a burning pain surge across his side. His armor's alarm chimed out a warning that it had been penetrated. The moment that he was hit, his grip loosened slightly, and the key fell through is fingers.

He watched as it descended to the ground below.

"She'll die. Another person you've failed, my brother." Jad said, letting out a cackling laugh. In his hand was a holdout blaster, smoking from an overcharge. Darr-Rann was still for a moment, in shock. Then he felt his fury meet it's boiling point.

Jad began to say something else, but Rannik had spun around, sword in hand. He charged forward at his older brother, grabbing the man by his bicep. Jad caught the move slashing down and biting into his brother's right pouldron cuting through the edge of his shoulder. The younger brother was blind to the pain though, focused entirely on killing. His sword ran through Jad's stomach, causing the older brother to cry out in agony.

"You. Die. Here." Darr-Rann said, twisting and withdrawing his blade as he did. He threw Jad over to the edge, where the older brother swayed for a moment, somehow able to stand. Darr-Rann swung his blade upward, cutting Jad across the face. A scar across the right eye, to parallel the one that the older had given him just a few years ago.

Jad fell backward, an unbelieving shock in his eyes. Darr-Rann watched him all the way, until the body hit the sands below.

It was done.

The anger receded, and Darr-Rann began to think rationally once more. Then he remembered. He ran to the lift, punching the key for the bottom floor, the isolation chamber.

RE: Losses of Vandetta (Hellra and Darr-Rann)

Evani was at the door again, the bones in her arms and hands shattered as she slammed her fists against the steel. Never before has she felt this despair. This wasn't like other situations where there was a chance to escape. No, this was it. No luck would save her this time.

Aeos fell to her knees against the doors, her fists sliding down the door. Thoughts and images flashed through her head. She imagined she heard Darr-Rann's despaired voice yelling on the otherside, followed by soft vibrations through the door as she imagined he was slamming his fists against the door as well. She hoped his pilot Demonic and Dawn had the sense to know Darr-Rann needed to get away, even if he had to be dragged.

***Flashback***
"No Hell,-"
"My name is Evi!" laughed a feminine voice loud yet warmly.
"Fine, Evi, no, Dawn and I are only friends,-"
"But you are hoping for more ain't ya?" the same laughter bubbled warmly from Evani's lips as her friend reddened and shook his head furiously.

Aeos felt something warm crossing her cheek, she touched her face gingerly before pulling her hand back. Resting in the dry crimson blood staining her fingertips was water, more tear dripped from her face onto her hands.

***Flashback***

"I am supposed...supposed to be s-strong Darr, I have kill-killed before, why cant I now, wha---" she couldn't continue talking-
"Shh Hell, you are only a teenager, hush now...calm down"- Evani tightened her hug around Darr-Rann, the man who became a brother to her in the Stormtroopers barracks.

"Hell, you're a good person, don't let this eat you" he tucked a strand of loose hair behind her ear-

"I don't want to give that up!" she yelled as the countdown lost its sands.

***Flashback***

"Don't you think I know that? I have no choice. I need to get Dawn back. I need to confront him once and for all."
"Good luck, I hope you live through this."
"Good luck Rannik. Make sure you kill him, wont you?"
"Thank you two. I'll need it." Darr-Rann responded, and with that, he walked out the door.

She dropped her hands, her fists uncurled from its clenched grasp relieving the skin inside her pals of her digging nails. She resigned herself to her fate. She had no choice but to give up. She was trapped.

The whisper of a thought entered her mind-
Giving up on yourself?
Yes.....
I thought you were yelling that you don't want to,
I care for him, my brother now fighting his own blood-
You really love the small band of friends you scraped together at the barrack hmh?

Malice chuckled in the air as the countdown stripped another minute from the chronometer above the locked doors against the wall.

"Yes, they are my first family-"
You do realize that, the oath you are walking cannot be joined by them,
The path of death? I know...or I hope Rannik strays away from it,
You know what path I speak off, part of this path is to sacrifice them, him,
Sacrifice him?
To keep him safe, to keep you alive
To keep me alive......
Will you?
Will I what?
Give him up? Give them up? Give up on the man I call my brother?
"Yes...I would" uttered the words softly from her lips.
If it saves them.....him

A loud crash banged from across the room, the countdown announced the last ten seconds of life she was spared., but darkness drained the sound from her ears as it consumed her, she slumped limply to the floor. Strong arms picked her up with ease, the malevolent chuckle could be heard again as the owner of the voice lithe through the gap he created through the wall, Evani in  his arms hidden by his dark robes.

  The end of an era...

Darr-Rann pounded the durasteel blast door furiously, though it was hopeless – It would take full artillery to blast it down. But he couldn't leave her there to die.

He slammed his fist once more, completely oblivious to the pain. Blood flowed unchecked from his wounds, but he didn't notice. He had to find a way to free her.

“Darr...” A voice said. In his fury, the soldier didn't even recognize Kal. “Darr, we have to get out of here. This place is going to blow!” The pilot said. As if to emphasize his words, the ten minute notification sounded out.

Darr-Rann completely ignored him. He had to figure out some way of getting her free...

“Darr!” Kal said, laying a hand on his shoulder. Darr-Rann flung around, swinging his arm out at the pilot. Somehow, seeing Kal sprawled out, sent crashing to the ground, brought him to his senses.

“Kal...” He said, crouching down by his long time friend. Kal was like a brother to him – He couldn't believe what he had done.

“I'm alright.” Kal said, gritting his teeth as he got up, one hand wrapped around his stomach where the blow had made contact. “We have to go. Now.”

“But Evi is still in there!” Darr-Rann said. He paused and turned, only now aware that tears had been running down his face. He stared at the doorway, the cold barrier that imprisoned his friend.

“There's nothing we can do. If we don't get out of here, we're all going to die.” The pilot said.

Dawn... Darr-Rann remembered. “Your right... Evi wouldn't want me to die like this... We have to go.”

Kal nodded, and he followed the pilot down the corridor. Just as he reached the end, he paused to look at the doorway one more time.

“I'm sorry, Evi...”

--------------------------------------------

The Dark Raven's engines hummed to life as Kal's fingers danced across the various switches and buttons of the ship's control panel. Darr-Rann meanwhile by Dawn, watching over unconscious form.

The ship lifted off, flying up into the now-clear desert sky. They had made it. All but one of them...

Darr-Rann watched as the central tower, the tower they had just departed from, exploded in a brilliant flare. A deadly shrapnel pelted the Raven's shields, but they held strong. Darr-Rann watched as the ring of secondary towers followed suite.

Darr-Rann watched the wreckage of the main tower, waiting for Evi to make an appearance, to have escaped from the inferno...

The shock set in. She was dead. She was dead and it was his fault.

It was all too much – The shock, the fatigue, the bloodloss. Darr-Rann slipped from consciousness...

--------------------------------------------

Epilogue...

The man stood upon the sands, letting the warm desert winds wash over his face. He paused for a moment longer before replacing his helmet.

He was searching for something, something of incredible importance.

He was a hand of Cedaan – The high commander, in fact. He was to have been Jad's general, his divine paladin under his holy crusade.

Now the Desert Rage facility lay in ruin, and his master was likely dead.

Suddenly he spotted his quarry, and quickly ran towards it. The combined efforts of his powered armor suite and years of training on rough terrain allowed him to quickly close the distance.

“My lord...” He said, falling to his knees. Before him, laying broken and unmoving in the sands, was the body of his master. The body of Jad Cedaan.

His master was dead then, ascended into the heavens. Leaving him to leave the broken remnant of his following.

He reached down to pick up the body, then paused.

He bowed his head and muttered a small prayer. The prophet had spoken true – His master had ascended, but the shell remained.

The mind was gone, replaced completely by the irrational fury and insanity that had overcome the man in the last years of his life.

But Jad Cedaan still lived.
