Well keep 'em away from that "syrup"

Well, I gave another crack at the VEN.  I had some good times, met some new people.  Over all I’d have to say that my return was a positive experience.

Though I may have learned many things during my original resignation, I never did find that elusive “cause” I’ve been looking for.  Well, I think that I’ve found it now.

The ideologies that make up this cause were always with me, I was just unaware that they as a collective had a name.  At the end of my original resignation letter I wrote this:

“Goodbye my comrades.”

Comrades look out for each other.  Comrades work together to achieve greater things.  I believe in the power of the People and that all people are created equal.  Individuals these days are too focused on themselves.  They have become extremely materialistic, measuring their worth by the amount of “shiny” things they’re hoarding over what they’ve contributed to society.

I could go on with other things I believe in, but I promised myself I was going to make this one short.  I was unaware that these beliefs tended to flow in a general direction, that was until I began to read Grapes of Wrath.  My teacher was saying how the book strongly focused on unity.  Then came the line that ended my feeling of emptiness, my lack of purpose.  She said that the book was strongly influenced by Socialism.

After further research, I’ve come to the conclusion that I am a Democratic Socialist.  I could go into detail about what exactly that is, but it isn’t important and would only waste space.  (Can’t wait to see Art’s reply to this).

All that matters is that I now know that I am not alone.  I once clung to VE as a purpose but it only left me empty.  We are an organization of writers, fiction is what we have created and fiction is what we are.  A squadron writing 120 posts in two months will not fill in the ever widening gap between the rich and the poor.  The only things that can be taken out of this example are the team work skills developed in order to write the 120 posts in such a short span of time.  I’ve learned much here that will help me on the path that I have chosen for myself.

I’m sorry for leaving in the middle of things, (on the other hand, when aren’t we in the middle of things?) but work and school have already been making it difficult to fulfill my duties properly.  Please put my name back on the “retired” list.

Once again, I resign.  Once again, thanks for the experience.

And Stormz, there's a story in the works, just hang tight. We've gotta wait until Viper's done with their story, and then we can move on. So take a breather and get yourself hyped up for another one.
