After seeing a post that jumped forward to the next morning, I'd like to make a general note to the group as a whole. It's ok to jump around chronologically in this kind of loosely structured story. We don't all have to be at the same point. For this character development (CD) story I'll probably only have a couple major events, like the first meeting, and that'll be it.

The point of this story is to get everyone working together and to iron out some of the bugs. It's small, but it should get the ball rolling for bigger things.

I might as well make another point about how I do things. I don't give out promotions like candy. If you get one, you've earned it.

That would be just fine.

When I refereed to TIE's in my post I meant the series in general. We will be using TIE Interceptors.

Well, everyone that I deem as active made out a report and at least one story post.  My expectation weren’t completely met, but that’s ok since we’re still getting established.  Great first week of the story, guys.  Thanks for proving me right.

Stormz, some of your posts have been a bit short (even excluding the last one).  I’m going to count the last two as worth one post for this week.  On the other hand, I like the fact that you’re being active.

Rocketman and Stormz, I like how you two are communicating and working together on the story. Getting to know each other now will help a lot when you’re writing as an element in an actual, full length story.

Very Important Info

I’m going to initiate an AWOL check.  We have a couple recruits that I’ve heard nothing from at all.  You must post on this topic by Sunday or I will have your name removed from the roster.  Max is excused because he’s on leave.  I’ve learned that keeping the roster clear of dead weight helps keep everything running smoothly.  I’m not completely going to give up on them.  I’ll send them an e-mail or two during this period.  I wash my hands clean of trying to get them back after that.  We have to move forward, dwelling on lost recruits is pointless because it’s sadly a common occurrence.

To conclude this post, I’d like to make a note on Naval activity as a whole.  All three current squadron stories seem to have the same nature and have all started at about the same time:

Nazgul: 5
Kaph: 11
Viper: 12

Nazgul isn’t much of worry right now.  Viper, on the other hand, is one post ahead.  Remember, we need to prove to these guys that we’re worth our bacon and then some.  To keep our activity valid, we need to keep our word counts at least kosher if not more.  Like I said at least a couple times before, I usually post 500+.  We’re at a good start, lets keep the momentum rolling.

If it makes y'all feel better, I'll never believe you're worth your bacon. Like ever. :P lol

So that the numbers showed up right I combined one of Stormz' short posts with another. That means we're even farther behind Viper... Stormz and I can make a daisy chain of posts all week but it would be nice to see some other names up there.

Come on guys, let's not let Viper's combination of steroids and energy drinks give them a safe lead.

Remember that reports are due by midnight. Send them to both C3 and I. I would recommend that some of you make a post before sending it.

It's unfortunate that you have to do an AWOL check so early, but I like that you've recognized that there are some that need checking on.



On a different note - whatever competition has started from these regular time stories, it is not an official competition. If you want healthy competitive writing for pride in your squadron, then by all means, go for it. But it is not an official competition, don't go overboard with your "rivalries"
