As the Dragoons filed into a parallel building to the one that the Raiders had just entered, the AT-AT fired a few more times, annihilating another speck of resistance. DC-15 at his shoulder, Gates charged in, blasting once, twice, at a guard reaching for his blaster.
A few technicians, including a few women, looked up in surprise, before the Dragoons started to admit some punishment with the butts of their rifles, knocking the techies away from the computers.
"Barbarians!" screamed a technician, "Bloodthristy-" that was as far as he got, as he was running across the room when Gates blew a hole right through his chest, splattering the others with guts and blood.
"Anyone else?" Gates said, raising the rifle to his shoulder.
He loved the DC-15, wonderful weapon. More powerful than the '17, longer range, but slower firing rate - no matter, it only took one shot.
"Alderaan will be repaid for!" yelled another couple of men, defiantly, and not to intelligently.
"Alderaan? That was wiped out ages ago. And no wonder, 'we're peaceful we have no weapons!' Like they were asking to die."
"Well-" the man was silenced with a rifle butt. As Tanus and Orobos sat down at the terminals, sticking data chips in and downloading and deleting at the same time, Gates walked to the door. A couple of mercs were crouched just inside the doorway, firing whenever the AT-AT wasn't looking.
He chuckled lightly, firing at the two, hitting one in the back, the other in the head. Two bloody hulks hit the ground.
"Done, Sarge!" cried Orobos as the last of the data was uploaded onto the chips.
The squad rounded up their prisoners, leading them out, towards the AT-AT. The Raiders formed up, about halfway there.
Finally outside of jamming range, Leon pinged the AT-AT.
"Objective accomplished."
"Copy, sergeant, fall back to the AT-AT and wait for evac."
A couple of TIE-bombers streaked over their heads, dropping bombs to destroy the base.
A couple of shuttles descended followed, landing and extending ramps to the waiting stormtroopers.
"Good job, guys," Leon said. "Mission accomplished."
"Beer's on me!"
