Ok...as mentioned during the meeting, there are some changes afoot for the Stormtrooper Corps. These are things General Talon and I have been discussion off and on for a few months at least. However, before they happen, I need a couple things to occur.
1. I need squad leaders to give me a determination of what they want their squads to be mission-wise. There is more on the Commander's Comnet concerning that. Basically, either give me a mission plan you would like by Friday afternoon (US central time) or I will arbitrarily decide on for ya.
2. Troopers, take some time considering what types of skills you would like your character to have. We will work on that in the sorta near future, so don't hold your breath just yet.
Hear are the latest items and those I do plan on rolling out soon:
1. It is my understanding that the Fallen Angels have gone mercenary and are no longer a part of the army. The roster will soon reflect this change. I have never received official notice of this, but that is my view of the situation based on Storynet posts and a quick IRC chat with Daishi/Kuroishi.
Epic and Dragoon has asked for, and have received, transfers back into the regular army. I doubt this will happen, but the same offer is extended to other Storm Platoon members.
2. After discussing things with Stormtrooper 1026, I have put him in the reserves until such time that he can re-assume his duties or some variation thereof.
3. The Commander of Development (CoD) position and it's assistant have been removed from the roster. Aside from being a place to put people to gain money while doing little in a timely fashion, it does not serve the army any tangible purpose. Therefore, it will not exist unless there appears to be an actual use for it. Otherwise, we have other means of achieving our goals in that area.
4. Be prepared to see changes in squad composition. They may not be ones you will initially approve of, but given the way things have gone lately, there really isn't any reason to argue otherwise. First off is this: Iron Horse squad has lost it's elite status. Repeat, there is NO elite squad in the Corps and there should not be until activity is increased across the board.
5. On a positive note, however, I have appointed SGM Demi Wraith as Platoon Leader. This may be somewhat temporary depending on his reaction to this position change...heh. Currently he will maintain his role as squad leader for the Dragoons as well. I merely figured three positions was a bit too many for one person, and I'd rather keep the day to day running of the platoon on a more "localized" level.

I'm sorry, but the way you all act you kinda deserve it. And seeing as how you're now "mercanaries", expecting to get paid, I don't think Raz has to worry about backlash for any comments made against a squad that is no longer in the army. |

Okay folks, not grumbling.
As the Fish has said, he and Argon are opting to stay in the army. Argon has gone as far as to say that he will do so as a new character if need be.
Not sure how to arrange that as of yet, but I feel that we can accommodate two special mission type squads in the Corps.

/me takes a bow. Thank you, thank you. As to going merc, the reason for that is that most of the FA is not very happy living under rules and regs, it chaffs our style. Personally, I only have a problem with it on FA business, so I'm willing to get back into it on my own. Be seein you all

One of the things that bothered me when I joined up is that there is no incentive to being a NCO in the Corps. Not too many ranks, and when those are done, you are told to stay where you are and not get promoted. For those up at the top, there's not a lot we can do for you. For the rest of you, I am throwing in some new ranks. Thus a Sergeant Major will now be one of those really rare ranks to obtain.
I am also jumping the pay for most of these ranks. In fact a Sergeant Major will make as much as a 2nd Lieutenant, though the LT is probably in a position that pays more. If that sounds confusing, just ask.
The point is, let's try to have sergeants who actually are cool with being leaders of troopers rather than people waiting to be officers. We don't have enough members to justify too many officers (though we likely will have both more members and officers in the near future with the movie coming out). It will be a lot harder for people to get to the ranks a lot of you are at. A little bonus I would think.
So, from here on out (or until I get overruled down the line somewhere), here are the ranks we will use (new ones in italics):

First Sergeant
Platoon Sergeant
Sergeant First Class
Gunnery Sergeant
Senior Sergeant
Sergeant
Corporal
Lance Corporal

As I said, it is a great deal for those who have already earned those ranks. BTW...I raised the pay a bit as well, so for those of you who don't get promoted as often as you may think, consider that you will at least be earning more.
Also, I will break down to commanders how I would like those ranks dispersed...a guideline for a couple of the ranks anyway.
As for Argon and his request, just give me a squad name that is somewhat sensible and I'll roll with that. I wasn't sure about Dread Knights as I did not know if that name went with the FA (we haven't gone into your barracks as we didn't want to waste the mine-sweeping droids just yet). And yes, the Fish goes with you in whatever capacity you need him to be.
Nice to see some signs of activity...keep it up on the storynet.

As per notice from Demi Wraith, DarkJedi and War Woman have requested to go into the reserves pending RL issues they have to pay attention to.
That leaves us some really under strength squads out there...I will likely deal with this situation within the next couple days.

And I'm leaning towards this:
Dark Dragoons - Mechanized Infantry
Raiders - Armor
This is just with what I've seen lately with the posts. Add your voice if you have some thoughts on the matter. -----------------------

I take it by armor you mean that the Raiders will be focused mainly on strike mechs and assault mechs. That works with me! Especially since driving that TIE Crawler was so much fun before... -----------------------

Nomar here. I know that my activity in the army has been about as pitiful as possible, but I'm gonna try to change that. I'm just lettin' you know that I'm still out here Fury, and also I talked to Shadow/Darkhawk today and he told me that I neede to talk to you about being placed in a new squad. If at all possible I would like to be placed in the Raiders, but if that won't work just put me anywhere but the cannon fodder squad. Thanx. /me salutes.
