Lookin' good, Ech; love the personal touches. A couple things: sign your Academy notes as "Training Officer" rather than your Fleet duty position, and also, try to maintain a distinction between Basic Training and Flight School. How about, "Your Basic Training is nearly done, now. Let's move on to Flight School."? That seem okay? Technically you are; I'm waiting on the Roster change to happen, too, but Command okayed the title change from consultant (which was under Slasher, for the Bridge Guide you were working on) to TO (which is where I want ya), so it's in effect now. Ok, Echelon, I know you're eager, and your enthusiasm is great; it's part of the reason I hired you.  But to be a TO, I'm gonna need you to temper that excitement with careful attention to detail. This new version of your welcome post is inaccurate: Chapter 1 is the first step of Flight School, and comes after the completion of Basic Training. The only thing a recruit really needs to do to "complete" Basic Training, though, is read the single wiki page with that title, and post a "reporting for training" thread. Really look at the VENA pages, and make sure you give new people the right information. The thing is, when I was a recruit, I don't remember there being a Basic Training. That's why I though Chapter 1 was Basic Training.

I was just about to chime in, so thanks, Ech, for getting the ball rolling. Assignments, people: 1.) Echelon, I want you to go through the Command School pages, as you volunteered. But don't just look for typos... go ahead and add images from http://fractalsponge.net/ to the wiki pages, okay? But make sure that anything you use properly credits the artist, Ansel Hsiao (a.k.a. fractalsponge)! And Echelon, even more than the Command School pages, I'd really appreciate your insights for how to clean-up and flesh out the SCTP pages. 2.) Ellesmere, I need a status report. You've been basically absentee for months, with the exception of reporting in and sometimes being on irc. Can you do an update of the Flight School pages, incorporating new images? Or maybe it's time to step down from a VENA position for a while? Let me know what's up. 3.) Hunter-Morell, I know you're busy with other things, both VE and otherwise, but I need some activity from you as well. I want that checklist for training officers, still, and the certifications and skills wiki pages could still use revision, images, etc. Talk to me; I want to match you up with a VENA job, and there're plenty to choose from. Here's mah status report! I finally have a computer which is behaving well enough for me to be active a whole lot more than my mediocre existence this past while and hopefully this will last until I can apply for the new grant in 2014 or win the lotto...Whichever happens first...

Looks fine, Hades. No worries about the similarities to mine. I chose the wording for mine, so clearly I like it. As you grow into the position you may find yourself editing a bit, and that'll be fine, too.
The unofficial system we have going: whichever VENA staff member sees a new recruit's post first, becomes their TO. Other TOs should generally leave the recruit alone, so every new person is dealing with only one "guide," unless the TO goes on Leave, in which case you should hand off your trainees to someone else. Make sense?

Try not to edit VENA wiki pages for a bit! I'm workin' on reopening Fleet School and changing acronyms! EDIT: Okay, done with the initial sweep. All instances of "Flight School (FS)" should now read "Starfighter School (SS)" and "Command School (CS)" is now "Fleet School (FS). If you see one that I missed, please correct it. I also updated some of the copy, and corrected a couple typos. A few things that still need to be done: 1.) This page is a mess, and yet both orientation pages, from both schools, link to it. It needs to be cleaned up. 2.) This page, for the current Fleet School mission, doesn't have any names filled in. Can someone use a random name generator and just fill in some names? Put the NPC's name, rank, and species, for all positions. Any volunteers? Alright, I did the Command School Mission page with names I randomly generated... in my head. I didn't think of using a random name generator until after the fact. I made it so the Implacable has a predominantly human crew, with a few aliens interspersed. While the Vast Empire does have a very open policy toward aliens, I figured that the majority of the Empire was made up of humans regardless, seeing as it was formed from various parts of the old Empire.
