"Attention!"  Warrant Officer 2nd Class Jaden shouted, jumping to his feet as Captain Mikael Skysterov, commander of the 4th taskforce of the First Vast Empire fleet entered the room.

"At ease pilots."  The Captain said as he reached the podium.  In a very precision-like manner, the captain snapped open his briefcase, pulled out a disk and laser pointer and snapped the case back shut.  His mannerisms were rather intimadating as a result; as was like observing a rather mean looking robot.  He was most definitely a stereotypical Imperial officer.  Rather than look up and give a verbal order, Skysterov reached out, pointed at Templar, and snapped his fingers as an order for him to come over.  Templar examined the holoprojector that the captain had been trying to operate and after making a few adjustments, it sputtered to life.

"Very well."  Skysterov began.  "For the last six months, pirate shipments have continued to distrub the shipping of important supplies, both raw materials and finished products.  Production has been cut back as a result and despite the success of recent campaigns on some pirate groups, the issue of piracy has not disappeared.  As a result, we are going to take the offensive in a new way."  The holoprojector switched to an image of a space station surrounded by containers, patrol ships, and mines.

"Space station Zebra.  This is one of the more important facilities for galactic piracy.  Our first goal is to capture or destroy this platform and destroy all pirates in the area."  The captain said with a rather fierce tone to underline his personal belief that destruction was the better road.  "As you can see, the station is ringed with a series of containers and gun platforms.  Our intelligence tells us that these containers are actually concealed mines which means that if we are to destroy or capture the station, we need to destroy the containers, the mines, and of course all opposition before moving in, disabling, and capturing."

"Sir, given that this facility is so important, won't there be a large presence in terms of pirates doing business and ships for defence?"  Jaden.

"Ordinarily yes.  However, we have planned a solution to this problem.  Scattered far enough away from this platform, as in a distance longer than that which would provide a rapid response to provide reinforcements, are three other facilities of importance to galactic pirates.  We are sending in a small decoy force to each area at different times in order to scatter their defences, hopefully cause some to run for cover, and cause the fleet defending Station Zebra to split up to defend the other areas."  Mikael Skysterov replied.

"Now for this mission, you men will be entering battle onboard the flagship of this taskforce, the Imperial Star Destroyer Debilitator.  We are short on fighters and only have a squadron of TIE Bombers to assist.  They will be responsible with the heavy duty strikes while your fighters have been modified to carry a larger payload so you can perform both an intercept and strike role.  In addition, we have the Dreadnaught Enforcer, the Carack Cruiser Blitzkrieg and the Lancer Frigate Diabolical Array.  This should be enough fire power for any mission you will be asked to perform in this offensive."

"Captain, judging from your language, are there other missions as well?"  Hunter asked.

"Depending on how the situation unfolds, we have a series of potential targets on our strike list and this will be determined throughout the mission.  However, at the end of the campaign we will have one final very important mission."  The Captain replied.  The holoprojector changed to show an image of an asteroid field.  "In this asteroid field lies what we believe the be the headquarters of one of the more powerful and influential pirate bands.  Our final objective is to strike and destroy this by one of two means.  Depending on the strategic situation, Aegis squadron my be transferred to a Corvette that the pirates have never seen before.  The Corvette will be listed as belonging to a dubious shipping firm all it to get close enough to release the fighters and strike.  The second option is to launch a diversionary tactic on a shipyard and manufacturing facility in a nearby system as a ruse.  In this scenario, we will bring the taskforce and the Interdictor Death Grip to the asteroid base to wait for and exterminate the pirates as they return in addition to eliminating thier base.  However, this mission will be in the future and is the final objective and not the present one.  I will caution you now though, however.  Always be cautious near asteroids.  The pirates are well known for turning them into mines and gun platforms.  Any questions?"  The Captain demanded, switching off the holoprojector as he did.  "Good.  Any further orders will be given in the field or back on this ship after one mission is accomplished.  Dismissed!"

(OOC: Alright so this is how this works.  I have e-mailed Jaden with a list of possible missions he might use during this story.  Plot twists are entirely up to him and the missions I gave him are optional; he can use them however he wants.  Good luck)

Raigen left the briefing last. His right eye was twitching and he walked with a slight limp. His last crash was the worst ever. Raigen's Scimitar cockpit/pod slammed into the ground with enough force to break his right leg in two places and his head slammed into his joystick shattering the shield on his flight helmet and puncturing his right eye. It took a while for him to gain consciousness but he was able to escape the pod before the base was taken out. He literally just got out of reconstructive surgery a few hours ago. They had to replace party of his eyelid and reattach a few nerves in his eye and leg. He was a little worried about flying so soon.

"You gonna be ok to fly?" The question came from Templar. The only familiar face he had seen in a while. The water between Raigen and Templar had been a little rough. but they were cool now.

"Yeah man. I'm fine." Which was a lie. It would take another hour before the nerves in his eyes would function properly and his leg would be bruised for a week. It didn't matter. Jaden was letting him fly and thats all that mattered.Raigen shook off his limp and went to his quarters to suit up. For once, he wore the standard flight suit. No chopped versions with less safety. The last crash had scared Raigen straight. For once, he would go by the book. If he crashed in space...there was no coming back for him. He was determined to do everything right. In Raigen's room, a holo projection appeared. It was OneBee, his b1 battle droid. His entire name was B1-B Personal Security Command Droid.

"Sir. When are you taking another leave, the other droids wish to be activated." OneBee spoke with a new accent Raigen had just installed. He thought it made the droid more like a person.

"Soon OneBee. Have the animals gotten their exercise?" Raigen said as he pulled a new flight helmet out of a duraplast bag. It was gloss black rebel-style with a green face shield that had fighter-pilot interface options ship readout capability and kill tracking drive. It also fit together with a new imperial breathing mask. On the right side was a green imperial emblem and on the left was white K. The crest of the Tei-Yehn family that originated on Koriban centuries ago. Raigen had ordered the helmet specially for the reinforced face shield.

"Yes master. Your reek has been thoroughly trained and is in fit condition. An alleged reek breeder came by. He said he was interested in the animal but when he saw how many battle droids you had, he turned away and fled. I suspect he was a bounty hunter. Sent by Juunda I suppose. Why do you not pay him back, Master?"

"He isn't interested in the money. If I should die, he will be next in line as the Chief of the Red Dragon Clan. He knows that the hutt monopolization of the clan would end if I were to become the Chief." Raigen remembered the day he entered the Clan. It was on board the Iggret, a flury type ship. The Chief at that time had taken a liking to Raigen's arrogance and reckless disregard for safety. All Raigen had left now was his arrogance.

"Not to be rude sir, but why would a child be the heir of a criminal organization decades old. Especially one as old as the Red Dragon Order?" Onebee asked. Raigen was annoyed at OneBee's last comment. "We haven't been the Order for forty years. We abolished all religious aspects in the last Doctrine Council. You may want to upgrade your historic sets." Raigen said as he pulled on his pilots boots. They were, like the helmet, gloss black with green trim.

"Of course Master. I'll do that at once. How are you injuries healing?" Raigen tried to hide a surge of pain from his leg. "Nicely!" Raigen lied as he pulled on his green flight gloves. "I have to speak with Hunter. OneBee, have twenty droids pull into the building and go to standby. The rest of you can handle security. I'll come to look over things when I can." Raigen shut off the holo and grabbed his helmet.

Raigen met up with Hunter in the hall. "Hey Hunt!" Raigen went into a quick jog to keep up with his XO. Raigen and Hunter were almost the same. Both of them were criminals turned pilots, now they were both pilots with prosthetics. Hunter had two prosthetic eyes and Raigen had prosthetic nerves in his eye and two and a half prosthetic fingers. Plus the facty that Hunter watched Raigen like a hawk. Raigen had ran off during missions three times now.
"Hunt, are we really switching to interceptors? You know we can't lose with those!"

"Stop being so cocky, Raigen. Just promise me one thing. NO heroics!" Hunt glared at Raigen. He knew Hunt was serious this time. "Alright. Hey, all you holding up alright?" Raigen asked, referring to Gemini. Raigen lost the only two people in his life that he was close to. His mother and his best friend Gremman. He knew what it was like to lose someone that is such a big part of you. "Don't worry about me. Go do a pre-flight prep. Make sure everything's working properly. and maybe get some time in on the simulator. You've got a big mission ahead of you. On second thought...some rest might do you some good!"

"Is that an Order?"

"Think of it as a friendly suggestion!"

After all of the pilots had left the briefing room, Jaden approached the Captain, Mikael Skysterov.

"Captain," said Jaden, "I've decided which mission we will take first.  The attack on shipyard Zebra"

"Alright.  Have your pilots ready to go in 3 hours.  You will be shuttled straight to the Debilitator.  From there, you know the routine," said Mikael, with a goodbye salute.

Jaden saluted back, "Thank you sir, we'll do our best"

***

Jaden stepped into the Aegis barracks to find that all of the pilots were sitting near their bunks, or changing into their flight suits.  Jaden had been dressed in his for the past few hours now, hoping that they would get under way sooner that what they would.  He could see the hope in his pilots eyes for the mission.  They were all determined to get the job done, but in another view, he could see the nervousness of all of the younger and more ambitious pilots.  They had flown in one mission at most, and had yet to really find out what it was like to stick with it and survive through many missions.

"Alright pilots," said Jaden, with a stern look on his face, "It's time to get serious.  We're leaving in 3 hours for the Debilitator and the rest of the taskforce.  We will be taking the mission on the shipyard codenamed Zebra."

The pilots all shifted their eyes towards Jaden and nodded.

"I don't have much else to say then concentrate on your objectives.  We're in unknown territory out there and I know most of you are a little nervous; scared even.  It's normal to feel those little butterflys in your stomach, but I suggest you go to the bathroom and puke them out, or else you'll be doing it in the your fighters"

"I want all of you at the hanger in 2 and half hours, suited up, and ready to go.  We will be leaving from the Atrus in a shuttle to the Debilitator somewhere in that time frame.  Pilots dismissed"

Jaden walked out of the barracks, Hunter tailing his side.

"Ah man, you as a squadron commander.  Never seen it coming," he said with a childish tone in his voice.  "I mean-"

Jaden cut him off, "Alright, I'm going to be very bitter to these pilots.  I'm very disapointed to see the poor training most of them have went through and the lack of their skills.  Last time I was watching the simulator runs, one of them blew themselves up with their own cuncussion missiles, and you think these pilots are ready for battle?"

Hunter stared Jaden straight in the eyes.  "Look, I've been with this squadron through the tuff times and the good times.  Most of these pilots are new, but I know that they can stick it out.  They may look like they can't do much, but out there, they change somehow.  I don't understand it, but they get the job done and come back home in one piece, unlike I've seen you do in other missions, Commander"

Jaden stood there for a second, soaking in the insult he had just recieved from his Executive Officer.  "I will see you at the hanger in less that two and a half hours.  I hope that you attitude will have changed and your mind clear by then." said Jaden, and he left Hunter behind.

Shiric glanced around the Aegis quarters. She graduated a day ago from the Academy and was ordered to serve the Aegis Squadron. Upon her arrival she bolted immediately to the Aegis Quarters eager to meet her flight mates. Much to her surprised no one was there when she reached it. Hesitating she entered the Aegis quarters. Unsure of what to do next she made her self comfortable on one of the couches provided by the Phoenix Wing.

For a few moments she sat there, her hands playing with one another before she grew tired of it and got up from the couch, Stretching her self she started studying the few holo-images that were littering the small room. They were mostly squadron images. Her hand randomly picked one after the other up till she saw an image with female it. She had dark azure hair, with set glare though. As Shiric's hands shifted to more recent images. The images of the female disappeared.

A cough reminded her she was in the Aegis Quarters. Glancing at the source of the cough she met her current executive commander. She recognized him immediately from the Aegis Roster pages. Hunter.
"Where is she?" Shiric asked pointing at the image of the female.
Hunter regarded with expressionless eyes.
For a few moments it was silent.
"Dead. So you are our new resident female? Shiric right? Welcome to the Squad, Here is a log of the briefing you just missed. Meet up with us later after you got your stuff." Hunter handed a datapad before he disappeared from the room again.
Dumbfounded Shiric remained frozen for a few seconds.
"Dead. So you are our new resident female?...."

Shaking her thoughts and Hunter's words away furiously continued to complete her pre-flight checks. Firstly off to the store to buy basic needs, such a pistol of some sort, ration packs, water and etc. She didn't feel like going on a survival cruise if she got stranded some where. She exited the room with respect, realizing she could also become a fallen Aegis flight members.

As she was trudging down the corridor a very familiar voice called out her.
"Hi, Shires! Wait up. Honey!"
Clenching her fists, she spun around and glared at Len.
"HOW many time have I told you, I. Am. Not. Your. Honey." she hissed as she grabbed him by his arm and led him away from the public.
"Well...you are dear to me." he muttered as he pushed out his bottom lip which started quivering.
"Dont pout at me!" Shiric flailed her arms up in frustration and glared at him. Len continued his imitation of the pout till Shiric grinned. Trying to stifle it away she tried to get away from him.
"I got to go, we have a mission and I still need to meet my fellow flight mates."
"A mission? So soon? Shir?" for the first time Len frowned worried.
Before either of them could say anything, Shiric's comlink beeped.
"I have to go Lenny, and no I won;t die. " she said trying to comfort him as she activated the Comlink. Before Len could protest Shiric turned away from him and walked away while she answered her ComLink.

Raigen passed by Jaden in the hall with a quick salute. He didn't understand why the rest of Aegis slept in a barracks when plenty of double quarters were empty. Raigen shared a quarters with CRW Mormel Lorvold. He wondered what would happen to his last wingman now that the mission was over. Raigen continued on his was to Hanger 2. He wanted to run through his new Tie's system. this was the first time he would be flying an interceptor in actual combat. He wanted to fly them in combat ever since he saw a battle above Korriban. Three squadrons of Tie Interceptors vs. one squadron of Y-wings and two squadrons of X-Wings. The Interceptors wiped them up. Raigen had flown through the battle before finding a good watching spot in an asteroid field.

Raigen wanted to see what these suped up models would do. If he had to, later, he would overhaul the engines. But for now, he wanted to fly a stock ship. Raigen called over the comlink to Jaden. "Jaden, this is Raigen....I'm in the hanger bay. Listen, I want to calibrate my controls and interface before the mission and I cant get proper calibration in the simulator!"

"And, why do you need me?" Jaden asked. He seemed annoyed at the fact Raigen had to bother him.

"I want to take my Interceptor out for a test run for a half hour. Is that ok?"

"Just be in that hanger in two hours!" Jaden said as the com clicked off. Raigen pulled himself into the Heckler 2 and ran through preflight. He completed his flight plan and sent it up to the hanger control bridge and awaited launch clearance. That was when Raigen saw his astromech droid enter the hanger. "Kaythree, what are you doing here?"

beep whoop fruuutttt

"No you can't come with me!"

griiiinnnd whoop

"Because the empire doesn't believe in using astromech droids in combat!"

beep whoop beep

"NO I'M NOT JOINING THE ALLIANCE!" Raigen glared at Kaythree as the droid left the hanger. A beeb in his helmet confirmed he had launch clearance. Raigen powered up the interceptor's engines and slowly left the hanger. The Interceptorsped off at 100 mlgt speed. Raigen wasn't gonna push the limits of the fighter until he was at a safe distance. The fighter handled beautifully. It was like gliding. Raigen chimed in to the hanger control bridge. "Requesting activation of the ships in flightn holo simulation file 001."

"Granted. File double oh one activated. Space Target Simulation, difficulty 1!" Twenty blue holograms of space mines appeared at random locations around Raigen's interceptor. He pulled a nice barrol role and went into a high speed asault on five of the mines. The mines disolved as his holo fire made impact. 15 more. Raigen continued to practice his basic maneuvers as he finished off the last of the targets. "Activate holo simulation 0510."

"Activating file oh five ten. Sapce fighter simulation dificulty 22!" Immediatly, two a-wing holograms appeared and closed in on Raigen. The Interceptor rolled out off the way of a burst of holo fire and immelmaned in behind one of the a-wings. The pursued a-wing tried to break out, but raigen kept close behind, mimicing the holo's maneuvers and closing in. Raigen opened fire and the a-wing holo disolved. Now Raigen had to find the other one. The Interceptor shook as he was hit with holo fire. Raigen banked right and rolled out of the fire as his new helmit showed him a image of his shield readout. He needed a good maneuver to get out of this. Raigen pulled strait up and rolled left. His upward thrust continued as he completed the immelman. He knew that the holo was right behind him and a quick break turn toward the capital ship threw the holo right in behind him. As the Interceptor reached 125 mglt, Raigen prepared for his next move He roled out of the fire attacking his rear but kept his facing toward the ship. Raigen was getting close to the sip. 3...2....1! Raigen pulled straight up as the holo colided with the ship and disolved.

"Times up Raigen!" Jaden called through the com! "How bout getting back to the ship so you can refuel!

Raigen looked at the time. He had less than an hour until mission launch. He slowed his fighter and made his way back to the hanger.

The Interceptor landed in its spot and Raigen updated his kill list. 20 holo mines and 2 holo a-wings. He decided not to add previous kills since had had no record of them. Raigen took a deep breath as the cockpit of his fighter opened and a crew of maintinence workers rushed to fill the near empty fuel tank. While in flight, Raigen decided to move into the Aegis barracks. Flying solo up there just felt so...lonely he thought as he made his way to his quarters. He stopped by the storage bay and picked up a repulsar lift hand trawler before going to his quarters to move. He saw Templar heading for the simulator but didn't bother to chase him down. R3-K3 would help anyway he thought as the door to his room slid open. He would miss then view but he knew it would be better not to distance himself from the group.

In his quarters, Raigen saw crewman Mormel, who was also moving out, but didn't bother to say goodbye. They worked different shifts and hardly knew each other. Kaythree used his maintenence claw to load Raigens weapons onto the thand trawler while Raigen packed his stuff into his lockbox. He tried to work fast because he only had twenty minutes left before launch. He loaded the lock box onto a second trawler and had Kaythree haul his weapons to storage while he got settled in. Raigen passed the simulator just as Templar was finishing up a run. Raigen decided to pop his head in and say hi. "Hey Temp! fifteen minutes to till show time. You done or what?" He laughed.

"Yeah. Wow, it's that late already?......Why are you in a flight suit?" He asked as he pulled himself out of the darkness of the sim pod. They walked together to the Aegis barracks.

"I was running the in flight holo sims. I finally passed oh five ten!" Raigen said braggingly.

"Really, what score?" Templer said as he tried to sound impressed, but he had to give him a break. Raigen was a freighter pilot at heart and was still used to the bulky hunks of metal.

"96% for combat and maneuvers, 94% for time. I'm taking on the tri x wing sim when we get back. Want to sim race?(Sim Racing reffered to two pilots running the same simulation to see which can complete it faster.)

"Ha you're on but If I win I get 1000 credits!" Templar demanded as they entered the barracks.

"And if I win you have to paint my ship!" Raigen countered.

"Like that'll happen!" Templar joked.

"By the way, powdercoated tomcat gray. with cherry red detailing. And no spots on the solar panels." Raigen added as he plooped the lock box down in front of the bed next to Spacespeed's.

"Keep dreaming Raigen!" Templar said as he put on his flight suit. "Only ten minutes till launch, hey Speed, did you get a run on the simulator yet? They have a new program where you have to shoot down two clutches without letting them get away or getting shot once."

"Nice. I'll look into it." Space replied.
Raigen checked his new helmet and looked at the back. He had scuffed it when he got hit by that holo fire. Templar came close to look over Raigen's shoulder.

"Nice helmet. Is it new?" Templar asked. Raigen was dissapointed in the scuff.

"It was!" Raigen said as he tried to clean the scuff off. It didn't work. He went over to a dislay screen and hook up his flight reply interface. Not tto show off, but he wanted to see when the secod a-wing got away from him. The screen went from static to the view from his helmet. good investment raigen thought. The helmet ran him 5k and it took him a month to save up. Raigen had to fast foreward through the first simulation until he reached the a-wings. It was like listening to your voice through a holo. It never sounded the way you hoped it would. Raigen kept finding things wrong that he could have done better. When it got to the part where he did a straight up immelman a meter from the Atrus. Raigen could only think one thing....am I an idiot or what?

"What were you thinking Moron!" Templar joked as he watched the replay, "c'mon! Let's get to the hanger!"

Jaden stood in the hanger with all of the pilots in his squadron lined up, single file.  They were all staring straight ahead at attention, not a single muscle moved on their faces or body at one point in time as they stared at their commander.

"At ease pilots," said Jaden, walking down the line.  "This is the briefing you are all going to need to pay attention to," said Jaden, passing out datapads to each of the pilots.

"Welcome to the squadron Shiric, it's good to have female influence around as all of these trigger happy flyboys need some taming once and a while," said Jaden, staring straight at her.

"Alright people.  We're going to be attacking a pirate shipyard by the name of Zebra.  We're jumping in on the Imperial Star Destoryer Debilitator.  In our assault force will also be a squadron of bombers besides our fighters, which are tie interceptors.  We will be assisted by the Dreadnaught Enforcer, Carrack Cruiser Blitzkreig, and the Lancer Frigate Diabolical Array.  With this much force, we should and will accomplish and mission or goal assigned to us."

Jaden stood there for a moment, watching as all of the pilots minds churned with excitement and ambition for the mission.

"Alright, get your head on your shoulders.  This facility is one of the more important in the pirates campaign.  When we jump in, most of the forces should already be scattered to the other shipyards in the system, as other assault groups are attacking them at the same time, to draw attention away from the more important shipyard, Zebra."

"The Shipyard is surrounded by minor orbitary defences and gun platforms, so be on the lookout for those.  There will be some small cruisers and patrolling craft in the area, probably a frigate, a Corvette, or a dreadnaught, along with their complimentary fighter escort.  The shipyard itself could have any type of ship docked with it, and its own fighter payload, so be careful as we make our approach.  We can expect any type of fighters, as these are pirates we are dealing with," said Jaden

Jaden turned around as he heard the sound of an engine coming close to the hanger.  He turned around to see that the shuttle had arrived to take them to the nearby ISD Debilitator.

"Alright pilots, there's our ride.  I want all of you to be concentrating and thinking only about your mission as we board the shuttle and take our trip over to the Debilitator.  We will be in hyperspace for a short time, minutes at most, and then we will launch"

Jaden stood there, watching the pilots check through their datapads and make sure they had everything in order.  "Hunter, follow me into the shuttle first," said Jaden.  "Pilots, board the shuttle after us"

Jaden walked towards the shuttle with his helmet in his right hand.  He couldn't stop thinking about the fact that he was leading a group of pilots into battle.  He now had the lives of every single one of them in the palm of his hand, and he wouldn't let those lives be wasted in such a terrible manner as being killed by a pirate.

Jaden stepped up into the shuttle and sat closest to the cockpit.  There was a pilot and a co-pilot in the cockpit, preping for takeoff once more.  "Warrant Officer 2nd class Jaden Khaar I presume?" said the pilot.  "Yeap," said Jaden, "We'll lift off once all pilots are aboard.  How is our time?"

"We're early sir," said the pilot, "We have plenty of time" said the pilot, with a snicker on his face.  Within a few minutes all of the pilots were on board.  The shuttle immediately lifted off and they exited the hanger.  In a metter of minutes they had arrived at the Debilitator and had entered into hyperspace.  The tie interceptors sat with a so perfectly as the lights from above in the hanger shown down on them.

Jaden spotted the group of pilots that would be flying the bombers.  He walked over to the group andshook the hand of the pilot that had the emblem on his shoulder marking him as the leader.

"Warrant officer second class Jaden Khaar," said Jaden, "Commander of Aegis Squadron"

The leader of the bombers kept shaking his hand as he talked, "Master Cheif Petty Officer Drake Velso," said the man, "Commander of Wolfe Squadron"

"Alright, our estimated arrival to the shipyard is 5 minutes.  Looks like you and your men are ready to go.  I'll see you out there.  Good luck and god speed," said Drake.  He stood with stature, as if he was better that Jaden in some way, or atleast trying to express that fact.

"Alright, see you out there"

Jaden walked back over to where aegis squadron was.  They were all beside their fighters now, climbing up into the fighters and getting into the cockpits.  Only one left out of the fighter now was Hunter.

"Sorry about the conflict earlier Jade," said Hunter, "Good luck out there.  Those bombadeers are pretty stuck up huh?"

"Sure are," said Jaden, with a smile on his face.  He walked over to his fighter and climbed the small ladder to the top.  Once he was in the cockpit and the hatch closed, a mechanic ran by and removed all the ladders from around the fighters.

"We are entering realspace in less that 30 seconds.  Pilots, our long range radar has picked up 2 dreadnaughts, a squadron of fighters, and a medical frigate in the immediate area.  Thats all we could find" said a voice over the loudspeaker.

Jaden turned on the com system and switched over to the aegis channel.

"Alright pilots, start your check in and get ready to go!" said Jaden, with a tone of excitement in his voice.  He flipped the secondary power switch, followed by the primary; double checked the engine power, weapon system, and the repulsor lifts.

"Aegis 1 good to go" said Jaden

Similar callbacks came back from both of the squadrons by the time they had entered realspace.  Within a few minutes, they would be into the heat of battle and lives would be lost.

Time to boogey

Spacespeed9 went into the fighter. He doubled-checked every system, and activated the repulsorlifts. He turned on the com, and said,"Aegis 6 ready."

(Sorry for the short post, but I really don't have time to make a really long one...)

"Aegis 2. Good to Go!" Hunter called over the com from his .

"Aegis 3. Ready and Willing!" Templar called.

"Aegis 4. Clear!" Raigen said as he powered up the fighter. He set the personal climate unit higher and snapped the breathing mask loosely to the side of his helmit. The thrusters began to hum as he waited for the reset of the squadron. Raigen looked around his cockpit. It was more cramped then the two man freighter cockpits he was used to. Raigen snapped his breath mask completely on and took the safety off of his ships weaponry system. His mind prepared for the next battle. He uploaded the calibration module he had programmed earlier and sat back in his flight chair. He though back to Tatooine. Recent solo missions had sent him back to Tatooine but they didn't go well. Raigen thought about his first flight on the grayhawk.

The ship bucked at first until ity got enough altitude to semi-glide over the Tatooine sands. The ship flew like a bird, just like the Interceptor. As the ship flew further and further, It started to overheat. Raigen had to freeze the engine with coolant and then activate them again. He was in a freefall before the engines thawed and he could pull out. Of course the ship ran out of fuel a minute later, but at least he had some crates to land on.

Raigen pulled himself back into reality as Jaden began to speak over the intercom. "Raigen! Is there any reason you're hovering  five feet higher than any of us? Just so I'm clear!" He said as Raigen as just coming back out of yet another flashback. It could be worse! he thought He could be narrating his flashbacks for everyone to here! Raigen quickly lowered the fighter and regained his initial setting.

"No reason. Sorry Sir! It won't happen again!" Raigen said. He was used to quick, speedy preflights, where there was less time for something to go wrong! Raigen rechecked his restraints and tightened them a little. If flying these fighters in combat was anything like flying them during a holo sim, which it probably was, he wanted to be tied town to his seat so he wasn't thrown from it.

"Aegis 6 Ready!" called Spacespeed. Raigen laughed at his eager squadron member.

"Late yet still early Space! How bout waiting for 5?." Raigen said reffering to the fact that space was the last one in his fighter. Then again, who was he to talk? He nearly just ran his ship into the cieling...again! This wasn't the first time he had preflight problems. He slammed a scimitar into the cieling of a hanger in his last mission. "Speaking of! Where is Five?" Raigen queried As he checked his terminal for DJ's marker.

"Aegis 5 ready, I'm here Raigen keep your pants on." Dj said still laughing at Raigen's folly. "Alright lets do this." He said. Raigen wasn't listening. The temperature inside his fighter had suddenly spiked to unbereable heights.

"Jade! I've got a problem. My PCC's(Personal Climate Control) heating function is going out of control. Its like 200 degrees in here and it wont shut off! What do I do?" Ragen said.

"Calm down." Called Spacespeed.

"Dang its hot in here," Raigen remarked.

"Can't you cut the power to it off?" Jaden asked.

"No! It's protected. I think it's wired into the fire control unit!" He explianed as he searched through the terminal for something that can help.

"Ok I'm hacking into your system." Hunter said over the com. Raigen's screen went blue as Hunter fingered through the system until the PCC killed off."Done!"

"Remind me. I owe you a save in the field hunt!" Raigen said, angry with the fact that he couldn't manage to hack into a Tie's systems.

"Late yet still early Space! How bout waiting for 5?."

"Aegis 5 ready, I'm here Raigen keep your pants on" DJ Said watching as Raigen almost hit the Ceiling. "Watch it Aegis 4, if you crash its going to be hard to find a replacement". DJ was already running late with everything, Just coming back from a big leave to getting transferred to Aegis. 'alright DJ you can do this its like riding a hover bike once you learn you never forget'. Thought DJ.

Laughing with the rest as Jaden asked Raigen why he was five feet higher. "Alright lets do this". DJ said as he started preparing for the main launch sequence to begin. The last mission DJ participated in before he went on leave was with his old squadron Nazgul. 'The Rescue on Kessel was by far the best mission i've ever had' DJ thought to him self while checking the targeting controls and the modified weapons system on his TIE Interceptor.

Wondering why the weapons system showed an Ion cannon registered with the other two blaster. 'Oh yea I still have that ion Cannon on from the last mission and they forgot to take it off it might actually come in handy'. DJ thought just answering his own silent question.

Praying as nothing bad would happen on this mission DJ waited for the rest of the launch to start.

(there we go im gonna write more post but i needed to get at least one in)

00C: Sorry, I dont know mcuh about the interior of a cockpit, so excuse me for my ignorance, tried to google it.

"Aegis 7 ready to fly!" Shiric muttered in her comlink that was incorporated into her headtset. A strange flow of excitement buzzed through her nerves as she flipped the various switches of her craft to active status.
Today is my first day out in the field! She thought excited.
One after the other her fellow squadron mates' voices crackled over the tiny speakers of her headset.

"Jade! I've got a problem. My PCC's heating function is going out of control. Its like 200 degrees in here and it wont shut off! What do I do?"
Shiric quirked an eyebrow at Raigen's situation and grimaced. She supposed it had to be quite heated in his cockpit at the moment.

"Calm down." Spacespeed called out to Raigen.
"Dang its hot in here,"
"Can't you cut the power to it off?" Jaden asked sounding worried.

"No! It's protected. I think it's wired into the fire control unit!" he called out as she heard him rummage in the background for something could be of assistance.

"Ok I'm hacking into your system."
Hunter to the rescue she thought shaking her head. She had a feeling Raigen experiencing preflight problems was normal.

"Remind me. I owe you a save in the field hunt!" Raigen called out wryly.
Shiric shook her head again as she tried to relax her self and her twitching fingers. She could die if she pulled the wrong maneuver of some sort. A sudden feeling of paranoia filled her urging her to re-check her weapons system. Sighing she leaned over to view the small screen in front of her with more ease. Not much surprised it showed full capacity idling on on 'stand by'.

"Hi Shir, tis me Len, can ya switch to private link for a sec?" Shiric frowned.
Not him again
"Jade, I'm going off line for a sec, be right back, that okay?" she asked to her squadron commander.
"Go ahead, make it quick thought, we can linger about."
"Right away"
"What do you want Len?" she asked as soon as she switched.
"Nothing, i just want to say good luck and don;t die on me out there, right?" Len sounded as if he was ready to cry. Clenching her fists Shiric sighed,
"Aren't you supposed to in a squadron."
"There is some difficulties about my placement, the commander reckons I will be fighting sooner or later today."
"Lenny, I appreciate you caring for me, but you can't greet me every time when we go off to a mission as if its the last time. My system cant take that. Thinking I might die, now butt off and don't worry." Before Len could protest or anything Shiric switched back to her Squadron Channel.
"Sorry bout that, just some distraction." Shiric pulled the black sphere-like helmet with its extra accessories over the head and clipped breathing mask to her face. The two pipes that extended from the mask that lead to the life support system reminded her of diving. Leaning her head back against the flight seat she drummed her fingers lightly across the window sphere to her left.
"Are we ready to fly boys?"

"Shipyard Zebra and all affiliates, stand down and prepare to be boarded," Jaden called out over the general com frequency.

Stupid protocal, everyone knows they are going to fight back

Jaden waited for a few moments for a response, and finally got one.

"Imperial pilots, we assure you that attacking this shipyard was a grave mistake.  You don't know who you're messing with"

Jaden thought for a moment, listing out all of the retorts he could send back at the person on the other line, and decided to just give him a simple answer.

"You aren't going to know what hit you," said Jaden

The fighters had now left the ISD Debilitator.  Just a few seconds later, Dreadnaught Enforcer, Carrack cruiser Blitzkreig, and the lancer frigate Diabolical Array jumped in.

"Good deal," said Jaden.  "I want flight one to stick with me and flight two to follow Aegis 5.  Orders will be given momentarily"

"This is Captain Mikael Skysterov, leading the 4th task force of the Vast Empire.  Enforcer and Blitzkreig, attack the enemy dreadnaught Echo Nine from the starboard side and take her out.  Diabolical Array, make your way towards the station.  You will be escorted by Aegis Squadron and Wolfe Squadron.  We've picked up a squadron of mixed A-wings and X-wings converging on your position.  Aegis, take care of those swiftly and quickly.  Long range scans must have been wrong because dreadnaught Fly by Night and presumed to be Medical Frigate but really Lancer Frigate Zellora aren't in the system.  Aegis, when you're near the shipyard, take out those guns so the bombers and Diabolical Array can get close.  ISD Debilitator will be standing by.  Be ready for anything."

"Captain Mikael Skysterov out"

"Alright boys and girl, you heard them.  Form up on the port side of the Diabolical Array and make sure those bombers and that frigate make their strike on the shipyard.  Those A-wings and X-wings are coming in fast."

Jaden pulled the fighter to the left and hit the throttle up to 100%.  Jaden set full sheilds on his nose as they were coming head on with the enemy fighters.

Still wondering how all of these pirates keep getting ahold of NR fighters, and in such good condition, as if they were manufactured and sent right into flight...

"Captain, just for reference, what is the purpose of this shipyard?" asked Jaden

"The shipyard has been used for nearly 4 months as a manufacuring plant for new weapons and fighters for the pirates.  We haven't got any information on how or why they set it up, but it seems as if they are working with a close shipment company for the NR because all of their fighters are NR lately." said Mikael

"Makes sense," said Jaden, "Alright, Aegis one out"

"Fighters at 3 klicks, permission to engage sir?" said Angel

"Alright, engage, but save your missile payload.  You're going to need it" said Jaden, pulling up his own missile targeting redicule.  The box went orange, then quickly to red and the beeps indicated he had lock.  Two missiles were sent shooting out of the Interceptor and straight for one of the A-wings.

That pilot is as good as dead, but why do I not feel that guilty feeling anymore? Actually, I feel more pleasure then guilt now...

"I want flight one to stick with me and flight two to follow Aegis 5" Jaden said over he com.

"Alright boys you heard the man power up those shields and ready your weapons. This is what we call a good old fashioned dog fight" DJ spoke into the comm., to Aegis 6, 7, and 8.  DJ watched as a group of almost new X-wings and A-wings came into view. "Remember men only blasters, missiles are used for after only use them for a few bogies. You've been through your training and you know how to fly and fight now let's show Wolfe squadron what we are made of". DJ yelled into the COM making the other 3 pilots cheer and rush into the battle with confidence in their eyes.

As the X and A wings got nearer DJ powered up both his blaster and ion cannons and used his targeting eye to pick off different fighters for the blaster.  And using the ion cannon as a last resort. "Alright men get ready to engage on my command, ready 3, 2, 1 ENGAGE". I yelled as we zoomed in after the group of fighters. Locking onto a X-wing I fired my ion cannon and disabled its engines as it was wondering what was going on I blasted it out of the sky with my blasters.

Looking for more fighters to destroy, I saw Aegis 8 A.K.A Templar flying with a A-wing on its tail. "Hold on Temp I got your six". Locking onto the fighter I fired two missiles into it and destroyed it instantly. "I want everyone to cover each others backs until this is over we don't want anyone lost in this mission".

"Ok ill cover Templar's back and Raigen cover Space's back, copy?" DJ watched as three acknowledgement lights came on. "Alright now that it is settled lets go".  Powering up their thrusters DJ and Templar Continued to fight the many Fighters while protecting the bombers and the frigate on its way to the shipyard.

Shooting down another fighter DJ wondered how many more of these guys are there. "Damn pirates always have to make life hard you everyone else but themselves don't they"? DJ grumbled

"Cheer up DJ, their not that bad" Raigen said while laughing into his mike.

Suddenly an idea popped into DJ's head "oh well since I should be enjoying myself". Pulling a complete U-turn and charging straight for the fighter coming towards him. "Time for a good game of chicken" DJ chuckled. Noticing there was a fighter firing at him from behind. "DJ! I'm going to cover you," yelled Templar into the mike. "No need Templar I got it covered". Racing towards the fighter DJ noticed the other pilot in front of him start to panic slightly.

Just at the last second DJ pulled straight up on the controls and saw both fighters crash into each other "Hehe well I guess that solves my problem".

Just then a voice popped into his mike screaming at him "DJ! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT YOU COULD'VE GOT YOURSELF KILLED, I DON'T WANT YOU TO EVER DO THAT AGAIN DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME PILOT" yelled Jaden.

"Uh, yes sir, sorry sir won't ever happen again I promise". DJ said while apologizing into his mike profusely.

'Well no more stupid stunts for me, but I really have to admit that was fun getting my adrenaline all pumped up' DJ thought

Raigen pulled his Interceptor tightly behind Space. "Ok Space. target an X-wing and I'll follow straight behind. Keep straight and we'll dual up on one," Raigen said over his ships com system. Space targeted the closest X-wing and sent the target to Raigen's computer. As the two closed in on the unsuspecting X-wing, Raigen prepared for his move. They we're getting closer diverted his power to the thrusters. Blinkers in his fighter notified him that he was locked on. Raigen checked the scanner and saw an a-wing on his tail. "Ok Space. Open Fire." Raigen held onto the flight stick tightly as his interceptor rolled right and sped foreword toward the target X-wing. The fire from Space's blasters shot overhead. Raigen kept calm as he opened fire on the target. Shields on the X-wing began to fail due to the overwhelming fire from both of the tie interceptors. Raigen couldn't tell who's bast hit the fuselage of the enemy fighter, but it exploded in a instant combination of fire and decompression from the vacuum of space. That's a horrible way to die!

Space, who was now behind Raigen, requested the next target. Raigen searched for the A-wing that was previously on his tail. He found it, but was alarmed at its position. "Space, our next target is...coming straight for us," Raigen yelled as he enabled diversionary maneuvers. He banked his fighter to the right and slid out of the line of fire. His wing mate did the same but chose to move toward the left."Ok Space, we've got both flanks. get behind him while I take the kill," he said as he dodged another blast.

"How about you get behind him and I fire. You're closer and he seems to be going after you," Space added as they closed in.

"Good Point. All right I'm moving in. Watch your fire and make sure I'm no where near the explosion," Raigen added as he saw space roll away for a firing spot. He thought of how he could do this. Turn around and out maneuver him, he thought, or scare him into your front line? Then it came to him. Raigen rolled to the right of the A-wing LoF and dove straight down just before the two would have made contact. The Pirate fighter lagged on his response but eventually did a semi back flip and pulled into where he thought was Raigen's trail. Raigen, however, had anticipated this and leveled out before looping around so when the A-wing did try to follow, it was in front of him. The pirate had to have been dumbfounded as he found that his target had slipped behind him.

"Ok Raigen, I have the shot," Space informed as Raigen followed the A-wing. "You're too close slow down and let him get away from you." Space instructed as the plan began to unfold. Raigen let off the thrusters and watched as Space fired into the cockpit of the A-wing. Images of the explosion reflected off Raigen's cockpit canopy as he passed by the wreckage.

"Ok Space, lets Regroup and find another kill," Raigen said as he examined the destroyed A-wing.

/OOC-not sure who is my wingman, so I left it blank. Also this is my first space battle post. Bear with me. Im not very good with this./ooc
---------

Shiric shot off after Jaden' craft which were scaling down in size at an immense speed as it distanced from her. Wasting no time she pushed her TIE at the same capacity if not more and caught up with him soon. She pitched the craft's nose sharply to the left and neared him with a barrel roll before relaxing the pitch into it's normal straight position.
"None of that Shire, we do the job. Not entertain them." Jaden muttered over the Comlink.
Shiric grinned as she pulled down slightly behind him and slowed down till she matched his speed.
"No problemo, nothing wrong with scaring them with dazzling skills." she retorted sarcastic. Before Jaden could reply, the first blaster bolts scraped over her hull. With little thought she blasted her engines to maximum capacity and pulled up.
"Where did that A-Wing come from!" she asked, barely in control of her voice controls as she sped off into a random direction. Up front of her it seemed peaceful. Just a back void of space, with an immense gather of bright flames of stars, each an planet or sun.

""DJ! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT YOU COULD'VE GOT YOURSELF KILLED, I DON'T WANT YOU TO EVER DO THAT AGAIN DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME PILOT?!?"

Shiric managed to juggle a wince in between her dodging.
"Jade, volume control!" she muttered shaking the ringing in her ears away.
Wonder what that was about?
Getting back the situation at hand, she was starting to panic. The A-wing kept closing in on her. Jaden was kept at bay with his own targets trying to kill him, gripping her control tightly she barreled the TIE upside down and pitched again and continued the barrel in hopes of causing the A-wing behind her to lose his target and overshoot her. Just as predicted, the A-Wing followed, but instead of monitoring his speed and keeping it slow in order to avoid passing her, he sped up.
Worried about the A-Wing not losing his momentum she lost concentration and was left helpless as he passed her and made a sharp U-turn facing her. Gasping for a lost breath she pulled down, but he caught her as he let a shower of blasters off at her. She managed to escape the majority off them when she boosted the thrusters even more. Were it not for the large radiation panels that gave the TIE their distinctive features, then her craft would have overheated a long time ago. The A-Wing has been toying with her, taking his time, Shiric's breathing rasped rapidly in her throat when two more A-Wings neared her.

"Jade, I can't get away from the them!" she called out panicked.
"I'll be right with you!" Jaden replied, though the could hear he seemed to be to caught with the A-Wings wanting a go at him as well.
"Your shining knights in amour to the rescue my lady!" Raigen said, his grinning stretching over the invincible link between them. Before Shiric could question as to what he meant, two TIE's zipped between her and the A-Wings. With little effort they brought two of the A-wings down in a matter of seconds, the third one soon followed.
"Thanksies, guys," Shiric said reddening from within her helmet. She felt quite shadowed and foolish among the rest of the Aegis Members.

Raigen smiled at his recent success. Together, Space and Raigen had taken down five fighters. He was glad but the last three were too easy. Come to think of it, the first kill didn't seem to put up a fight at all. As the pilot's raced for another target, Raigen decided to keep a heads up for trouble, "I don't know, Space. This is too easy. I've seen pirates in the CS fight a lot better than this. These are just targets. You don't think we're playing into a trap, do you?" he inquired as he rolled and pulled the fighter out of a sharp turn. Why would a base specializing in the production of fighters specifically for pirates have such untrained protection? he thought.

"You've stumped me," Space joked,"Tell me. If you complain when they're too easy, what do you do when they're too hard?" Space asked as he showed Raigen to their target. Raigen laughed at his question and tried to think of a witty answer.

"I celebrate," Raigen informed. His tie fighter was pushing 122 Mglt as he sped past Space and opened fire on an X-wing passing below him. The blast hit the pirate's thrusters and fire began to flare from the engine. Raigen figured the fighter would explode so he moved on to the next target. The next X-wing was a little better at protecting himself. The pirate tried a high speed yo-yo but Raigen, having superior acceleration and speed, slowed his break so the X-wing came out in front. Raigen poured on all his speed and unloaded a barrage of blasts at the enemy target. He had no idea where Spacespeed was. It was all the better. At least, this way, he gets a kill and not an assist.

Just then, the alert beacon in his cockpit came on. The X-wing he left for dead was on his tail and locking on. His interceptor could outrun an X-wing but not a missile. He thought quick and directed all power to his thrusters. As he closed in on the front X-wing, the rear one received a lock. Raigen's scanner showed the distance between the fighters, maybe ten yards between each craft. Where are you Space? he thought I never should has went ahead. Raigen watched his screen as the missile apeared on his scanner. He held tight to the joy stick as he lifted the ship and blasted over the front pirate and rolled upside down. He could see the pirates face through their cockpit canopies. Raigen mouthed the word Sorry as he roared ahead and then threw the ship into a loop. The missile of the attacking X-wing made cantact with with the rear of his ally's craft. Raigen must have been concealed in the explosion because the last X-wing never saw his missile coming. Raigen's missile shot through the canopy of the cockpit and lodged itself into the engine before exploding. The triumphent pilot's heart raced as he regrouped with spacespeed.

"Your're back. I got a kill added to our list, how about you?" Space said as he took a posistion next to Raigen.

"Ummm...Just one," Raigen lied. Technically, he did take out one. The other X-wing was taken out by friendly fire.

Mikael Skysterov stood on the command bridge of the ISD Dibilitator, watching as his forces moved in on the petty little pirate shipyard.  He could smell the fear of the new pilots in the air as they clattered down the hall.  The sound of the klaxons blaring was now all but too familiar to him.  He would lead his taskforce to upmost victory in this mission.

"Lieutenant commander," said Mikael, "Order the Blitzkreig and the Enforcer to open fire on the Echo Nine.  They should have no problem dealing with that dreadnaught."

"Yes sir," said the man, "Orders are being sent out"

"Lets move in on the shipyard at a medium pace, giving the Diabolical Array and the bombers some time to strike first.  Once they've started their strike, we're going to open fire will all forward batteries on the shipyard and crush those pirates.  What is the enemy force count at, lieutenant?"

"One moment sir, the Diabolical Array is in position to attack the shipyard with the bombers already, looks like the fighters are in a small engagement with the small amount of enemy fighters that are left.  Should we give them the word to attack?"

Mikael stood strong showing his pride in his pilots, "Tell the Diabolical Array to hold until we have gotten in turbo laser range.  Whats our ETA to arrival at the shipyard?"

"ETA is 5 minutes, they can easily hold for that long sir" said the lieutenant commander.

"Make sure those pilots protect the bombers and get the job done until we can get in position to open fire on the shipyard."

"Sir yes Sir!" said the lieutenant.  He immediately stepped off the deck and went back to his post as commander on the floor of the bridge, orders flying out of his mouth faster than a protocal droid taking records of a speech.

A few minutes later, the lieutenant commander came rushing back up to deck.

"Sir, we are within firing range of the shipyard, your orders?"

"Have all forward batteries and missile decks open fire on the shipyard.  Bring her down clean and swiftly, we need to move on" said Mikael.

He stood and watched as the green turbolaser fire lit up the blackness of space.  The turbo lasers bolted out from the ISD and smashed into the shipyard, slowly ripping it to pieces.

"Keep on the bombardment until I order different" said Mikael, "You are relieved Lieutenant"

****

Jaden rolled the fighter to the left, hanging on the back of the bombers as they came in on the shipyard.  Two X-wings were trailing Jaden and Hunter ever so swiftly, but they had just recently been caught up in the overhead turbo laser fire and retreated.

"Alright, lets keep the bombers in the condition they need to be and take this old shipyard down.  We have immediate orders to attend to after its destruction, so make it quick people."

"Alright, lets keep the bombers in the condition they need to be and take this old shipyard down.  We have immediate orders to attend to after its destruction, so make it quick people."

"Yeah...got it."
Shiric's eyes blinked rapidly as the enemy's craft exploded way to close for her visual sense to manage. After Raigen and Space's valiantsave, Shiric kept her self out the midst of the battle and preferred to pick on the crafts that snuck up from the side. Knowing the squad could manage to keep their own head she directed her TIE to the shipyard. It looked small, plain and unimportant, though it's defenses spoke otherwise. For a few moments Shiric managed to guide the craft without anyone attempting to kill her. This however, did not last long, and she was soon sent in multiple maneuvers, caught yet again at the target of the A-Wing behind her.

Much more in control of the panic which crept up in her stomach every time a enemy craft neared her, Shiric remained on course heading straight towards the ShipYard, despite the pending meeting with A-and X wings up ahead, still pouring occasionally from the Shipyard.  She boosted the engines as fast and hard as she could, before flipped the TIE 180º degrees, and opened fire. Another BOOM! would have sounded if the Laws of Science allowed it in the black vacuum of space. Shiric vivid imagination made up for the sound which the galaxy lacked outside atmospheres however.

"Nice one Shire! Nother on your tail, chicken!" Jaden's voice crackled over the ComLink. He was already nearing her at a rapid pace, set on reaching the shipyard. Jolting in movement Shiric sped up to meet with him, silently wondering why he was pulling a 'chicken' with her. Her predator following her loyally, trying to destroy her as well in the process. As they neared each other Shiric noticed Jaden was tailed by an A-Wing as well. Understanding his motives now, she grinned and sped up. The neared each other at an alarming rate, and for one agonizing moment Shiric feared they might crash into one another if they didn't pull up soon.
"Keep it steady Shire." Jaden ordered crisply. Shiric breathed slowly out before inhaled again and then repeated the process. Training was different. In training, her survival was guaranteed 100% if she was not an idiot.

On cue Shiric and Jaden open fired on one another's back side. The enemy fighters behind them exploded simultaneously. Relief coursed briefly through her, and she felt obliged to lean back and relax as some sort of celebration. However, being caught in the midst of a dog-fight TIE VS A and X Wings, did not allow the luxury, and she was forced to be satisfied with victory shout.

"Raigen, Space, think you manage thew few pathetics lifes flying around?" asked Jaden over the Com. Eager voices gave their confirmation. Raigen and Space had the type of adventure gene that would end killing them one day for their heads-on approaches.
"The rest of you, lets move forward, watch out for stray fighters., and keep in mind, that the dog fight Raigen and Space is cleaning up is not over. The shipyard could release more."

"Alright, lets keep the bombers in the condition they need to be and take this old shipyard down.  We have immediate orders to attend to after its destruction, so make it quick people."

DJ looked around for anymore pirate ships on his radar, seeing none he called Templar over to him and they made their way back with the rest of the squad. "Hmm now this is strange," said DJ to Templar while making his way back with the others. "What's Strange DJ"? Templar asked.

"Well my radar is not showing anymore fighters in the vicinity and its quiet too quiet even in space". Worry started to show onto DJ's face luckily none one could see through his helmet 'I really hope this isn't a trap' DJ thought to himself. Just as he finished thinking that the hairs on the back of his neck started to stand up almost as if there is someone else there besides Templar. "DJ watches out"! Templar Yelled into the mike.

Rolling his TIE Interceptor to the right DJ just missed the blast trying to check them off guard. "Damn dirty pirates always trying to backstab you in any situation. I KNEW I shouldn't have turned my back on the wreckage BUT No I just had to tell myself that there was nothing there". DJ grumbled to himself.

Firing his blasters at another A-wing DJ called to Raigen "Raigen make sure you don't get yourself into an ambush. We are already fighting off a surprise attack set by those dirty pirate's, I don't want anyone to be shot down so keep an eye out."

Raigen responded "DJ are you sure you don't need any help. Just a couple minutes ago Shiric called us her knights in shining armor". Rolling his eyes at Raigen DJ responded "No Raigen its ok the last thing I want is YOU to be my Knight in shining armor, just remember to watch your partner's back and try and stay clear of ambushes"

Shuddering at the thought 'I would rather die by the pirates than have that over my head for the rest of my life' DJ thought to himself. His musings were interrupted however by the scream that diverted his attention back to the battle. Looking towards his left DJ noticed Templar under heavy fire. Pushing his fighter forward he rushed in to save Templar from being destroyed. Thinking fast DJ thought of a quick strategy to neutralize all target in the surrounding area. "Templar I want you to do a left turn and dive straight down".

Understanding the command Templar did just as DJ asked and dove straight down wondering how it could possibly work.

The fighters just as DJ imagined they would dove down to follow Templar. Sneaking up behind the two fighters DJ shot his Ion cannon at one and fired a missile at the other successfully ending the remaining threat. "Come on Temp lets go back to the others and protect those bombers with Jaden and the rest".

Flying back DJ was able to hear part of a message Jaden was saying "The rest of you, lets move forward, watch out for stray fighters. and keep in mind, that the dog fight Raigen and Space is cleaning up is not over. The shipyard could release more."

Grumbling to himself " he's saying it like they did all the work and we just sat by and idly watched". Pushing that to the side DJ and the other half of Aegis formed up with the rest to finish this mission.

As they sped through the vacuum of space, Shiric made use of the time to give her charge to her cannon blasters. With a wry smile she remembered her thoughts the first time she saw a TIE.

"What is that thing?"
"What thing?" Len quirked an eyebrow at Shiric, and cocked his head to the side curiously before he saw her extender arm with its index finger directed at something. His eyes did needed mathematics as he followed the invisible line till it ran dead in the a triangular-like shape despite it square appearance at the back, which was connected to a sphere with circular window, and then extended to another square triangular.
Lenrax cracked up in a fit of snicker.
Blushing Shiric raised her eyebrows,
"What?" she asked slightly embarrassed.
In between the gaps Lenrax managed to construct a sentence.
"You......want..to join the....Navy....but you don't even know what..... a TIE LOOKS LIKE!!!"

A flicker of a smile appeared at the corners of her lips. It was crushed however as another shower of blaster bolts streamed at her from no apparent direction. Thought in Flight School how to act,  the reflexed were finally starting to settle in and following the drill she pitched and sped up. She stole a quick glance at her craft damage report radar. The hull was flickering vividly in a pink hue, it was nearing the red zone, but they were almost done. The most recent damage was done at the back of the hull.
"Should've expected them to attack me at the back." she grumbled, another bolt hit her, this time it shook the interceptor as if an quake it self was bursting from within the engines. Cursing she lost control over the craft for a second, and it made a 380 degree spin before she could grab hold of the control again.
"Shit!" She flicked the switches that would deactivate the alarm.
"Angel, get rid of it!" she cried out to her wing mate. And although the shower of blasters stopped, a static crackle was all that replied to her from his craft. Not delaying her thoughts on it however, Shiric quickly ran through her system to determine the damage.
"How's it looking Shire?" asked Jaden as Hunter made yet another contribution to the scrap metal scavenger's collection.
"Lemme check." said Shiric, her hands glided over the controls with practiced speed.
"All normal..." she began, till her eye caught an familiar blue spark. Emitting from her cracked target radar.
"Well, Um. All is normal except, sparks coming from my target radar. Cracked screen, It still shows an image, but very vague."

For a few moment Jaden's Com was silent.
"You can't target without that, going without one is suicide. I should send you back."
"No." For the first time Shiric's defiant nature made it appearance in the squadron's midst.
"Shiric-"
"We have a job to do. Get a new resident female if I die. The previous one, I am sure would also have said 'we have a job to do'....Right?" all the Coms remained silent. Raigen and Space has joined up with again, seeming tired, but still ready for anything.
"Let go do her job Jade" Hunter replied, sounding tired all of a sudden, and void.
"I'll be fine. " said Shiric in reply.
Jaden seemed to be contemplating. The small peace they were allowed on their last mile to the station gave him the chance to contemplate.
"If another part of your ship gets damaged, you get your ass back at the base."
"Right away Sir."
The Shipyard started to grow in size as the mile shortened. Big enough for the turrets to activate.
The discussion was forgotten as the squad lost themselves in another dog fight, this time fighting with a shipyard and dogfight at the same time.

Jaden checked the radar again just after avoiding another conflict with an X-wing. 2 X-wings Remaining along with another flight of A-wings.

"Alright pilots, the shipyard looks to be at 25% hull, bombers, pull out and let the the Diabolical Array finish her off.  Aegis pilots, lets mop up the rest of the fighters and move on to our next objective.  The Debilitator is already moving towards the hyper point.  Blitzkreig and Enforcer are still attacking the Echo nine, but the enemy dreadnaught seems to have lost its stabilizers and is turning end over end.  In a few minutes, we should all be ready to get out of this dump and move on.  Aegis one out"

Jaden pulled up on the controls, coming up behind Shiric and Angel.  They had just finished off one of the remaining X-wings and looked to be moving on to the next.

"Aegis 3 and 4, get a missile lock on that X-wing and take it out, two, on my wing"

Jaden pulled the throttle down to 30%, equalized the shields out and pulled a 180 towards the group of A-wings.  After the turn he punched the throttle back up to 95% and pulled up the group of A-wings on his targetting computer, seperating them off from the rest of the group so he could mark them and track them down easier.

As his fighter approached the group of A-wings who were hounding on the Blitzkreig, he felt nautious.  It wasn't necessarily a sick feeling, more like a nervous feeling, which he hadn't felt in a long time.  It was as if he sensed something was wrong, but he couldn't figure it out until it happened.  All four of the X-wings immediately shook off of the carrack cruiser and started heading for his fighter, along with hunters.  They had lured them in.

"Two, equalize your throttle to 95% and stick on my wing.  Make sure your shields are at full nose, they're coming straight at us." said Jaden

"Affirmative," said Hunter, "Here they come!"

Jaden stuck the fighter in a full speed right lateral roll, still watching as the A-wings swept in across the top of their fighters and came up from behind.  He immediately cut the throttle and transfered all of the shield energy to his aft.  The fighters came around, and opened fire on the two interceptors.  The fighter lunged every time a bolt hit the shileds.  Once the figters got close enough, Jaden turned the fighter competely around and punched the throttle on the inside of the Arc.  He could feel a small bit of gravity on his fighter as they were close to a shipyard, but it didn't affect his flight pattern much.  Hunter had now latched on to the back end of the A-wings even before Jaden could.  Being a better distance away from them, Jaden pulled up his advanced missile and got a target lock on the first target.  Two missiles away.  He brought up the second target, two missiles away.  The third target and fourth target were now under attack by hunter, so Jaden pursued the two others.

Before he could even get close enough for cannon fire, the missiles met up with the A-wings and ripped them to shreds.  The blue sparks from the fighter explosion emerged into the black vaccuum of space, nearly clipping Jaden's fighter as he passed by.  A few seconds later, Hunter was back on his wing and ready to go.

"We did nice back there two," said Jaden

"Sure did one," said Hunter, "Look, the shipyard is going under and the dreadnaught is exploding.  We should get back to the Debilitator.

Jaden started his fighter on a course for the ISD Debilitator, which was still ready to hyper out when they got there.

"All pilots, mission complete.  Aegis and Wolfe Squadrons, report to the ISD Debilitator immediately.

"Nice going Jade, Hunts!" Shiric called out happily as the last of the enemy crafts went down in an explosion.
"All pilots, mission complete.  Aegis and Wolfe Squadrons, report to the ISD Debilitator immediately."

Shiric's heart leaped at the announcement. Finally! She was going to go back to safety larger then a square meter cockpit. Her eyes shifted uneasily to the broken, cracked radar. Her craft was blind. The thought of returning to the Debilitator   was very inviting, an invitation she wasn't going to decline.
"Come on guys...and girl, lets get back and freshin up. Not all over yet." Jaden muttered over his Comlink to the rest of the squadron.

**On the Debilitator **

With little difficulty Shiric entered the hangar with her TIE, and hovered it over the ground as she neared the parking plots as she liked to call it. With a sigh the TIE landed and pressurized smoke started hissing from the airing vents as it began to cool down. She quickly punched the panel, which opened the airtight sealed door, and started climbing out. A whistle from the left side of her hearing attracted her attention.
It was one of the technicians. He starred at her TIE wide eyed. Confused Shiric hopped off from it, and back away from it to get a clearer view.

"Thats why you never let a woman drive. Period." Shiric turned to give Jaden, who has long since landed, a mock glare before turned back to her TIE. She glanced at her squadron's TIE, who all had damage to some degree, but in comparison with her TIE, it could have gone for brand new. Her TIE was littered with scorch marks gather from the blasts she received. It would be impossible to find a clean spot as big as her hand. The few dents that accompanied her scorch marks were fewer in number however, Shiric grinned.
"It could have been worse."
Jaden quirked an eyebrow, before he frowned.
"It could have been."
Wolfe Squadron has all landed by this time as well, and were throwing thumbs up at the Aegis squadron members, or shook hands with one another, congratulating each other on a job well done.

"Attention Imperials." The familiar electronic female voice echoed through the hangar.
"We are entering hyperspace in proximity fifteen seconds and counting." Shiric shrugged as she started peeling off her gloves, and flight jacket as the squadron left the hangar together.
"Fourteen."
"Space see you in the quarters?"
"Thirteen."
"Yeah sure Raigen, lemme jump in the shower, anyone still up for that SIM race?"
"Twelve."
"Hehe, sure, I still have a bet to finish with Temp."
"Eleven."
"I'm going to beat your ass, but heh, this is my turn off here, see you in a few."
"Ten."
"See ya Raigen, gotto run as well. Bye till laters."
"Nine."
"See ya DJ, good flying." Shiric called out. The count down continued as each of the flight members turned off to his designated quarter, or in some cases, cantina.
"One.
Shiric felt a tremor vibrating through the floor before the floor itself seemed to jolt, throwing her off balance for a few seconds.
"Hyperspace engaged." the voice called out a few seconds later.
That was my first mission done! she thought exited to her self as she strolled down the haul. She was thinking of visiting Len, but the latter has been smoldering her space the past few days. She will pass the visit for now.
And I'm alive, wonder what's next... she wondered. Shrugging it off she pushed the thoughts away. She would find out in their next briefing which she asumed was later today.

Raigen laughed a little at Shiric's unorthidox methods of staying afoot during a hyprspace jump. He had held onto the railings of his boarding ladder and manage to stay put as the forces of nature tried to throw him backward. He passes a maintenance worker and instructed him to top off bothe Templar's and his fuel tanks. "I don't care how much is left. If I come back and that tank isn't full. I'm tying you to the feusalage on my next departure." It was harsh, yes, but it worked. Someone has to keep the new recruits in line. he thought.

Kaythree had joined him in his walk back to the Aegis barracks. It was crowded so Raigen passed it up and headed for the galley(kitchen). It was busy preparing food for the "mindless" troopers on board. At least, he thought they were mindless. Nothing but thugs with steroids Raigen thought as he asked a chefdroid for a tray. Hesitantly, the droid asked when Raigen was schedualed for lunch. Raigen laughed and turned to Kaythree. "Ok Kaythree. Do your worst!" He said. Immediatly the droids wireless terminal-interface antenna arose from his "head" and bagan to pick up the droids programing.

Beep-Woo the droid asked as it beggan to rewrite its daily orders.

"Well... I'll have what the captain's having," Raigen replied.

Kaythree turned back to the droid and finished the hack. Grinnnnd Bweep. The chef droid went to work fixing up Raigen a tray of what he could only describe as some kind of tan slup. "Hmm, must be krayt tail soup he said as he saw the chef droid remove a wedge of red meat from the freezing unit. Beep Boww. Kaythree replied. Raigen ate his lunches in the confines of the personal cargo bay. He and Kaythree were alone except for the piles of possesions brought onboard by the ship's passengers. It was quiet, a good place to think. He saw that pirate's eyes when he passed overhead today. I was the last thing that guy saw. he thought. For some reason, he was wondering why he enlisted. Was I going too fast when I up and joined the Empire.  God knows I miss smuggling. But is that any better. Look what happened to Gremman. And do I want to risk all of this. I've come too far to quit now. I've come too far! he thought as he finished his meal. Maybe I just need some time off, get back to my roots. Take a vacation or something. Raigen stood up and made his way towards the exit. Maybe I could go free the Hawk. It should still be in impound. I could take my battle droids on a customes frigate and break through no problem. I've been putting it off for so long.

He cleared his head as he made his way to the barracks.

Shiric stepped out of the refresher-booth while she dried her hair with a damp towel.
Damn hair, need to cut it.
And that is what she always said and planner, but she never meant it. Shiric dropped the towel on a nearby chair as she started to clean the room, her clothes lied strewn across the floor. Usually she could get a droid to do the job for her, but she didn't believe in droids. They were good enough for nothing according to her. Shiric flipped through some holo channels out of boredom before she gave up on finding something interesting. Grabbing another clean flight suit she pulled it on and stuffed her gloves in her back pocket. She quickly exited the door and made her way to the Aegis's temporary quarters.

Upon entering it, she found it one again empty. Almost disappointed she stretched her out on one the couches it provided. It was a bit tattered after several squadrons' use, but she wasn't really one to be bothered about that. Two voices sounded as it started nearing the room. A pressurized hiss escaped the door as it slid open and Jaden and Dj's discussion continued.

"If we could get the flight...oh hi Shire." said Jaden, Shiric waved. DJ returned the wave. Just then another hiss followed before Hunter entered as well. Making small talk as they waited for the rest of the squadron went on, and slowly but surely the small room was filling up. Raigen was unusually silent though, as if going through an inner contemplation. For now Shiric would leave it there and question him later perhaps.

***Unbeknown to Shiric***
Lok sighed in frustration as the  ISD Debilitator jumped into hyperspace. He could only hope Shiric hasn't gotten rid yet of the locket he gave her. Unknown to her it contained a tracer device and till now however, the moment has never yet come for him to use it. Little troublemaker she was as usual, he was her Body Guard, and at the moment he was following her on her parent's orders. Moment ago, he broke them the news that she joined the Imperial Navy. Needless to say they were quite shocked. He was ordered to leave her to be, and only protect her life. He was receiving pay for this after all. At the moment he was forced to wait till she was back out of hyperspace. He was quite shocked when he saw her display with TIE against the A-Wings and X-Wings. She was a novice, anyone could pick that up, but it felt odd watching the girl he saw grow up out there. Flying.

Lok popped the bones in his neck as he craned it from side to side. He sighed. Why did he still do this? He was not growing younger to say the least.

***Back with Aegis***
"Shire, pass me a drink please."
"Where?"
"Coolbox to your left on the ground"
"Ah, right, hold on....here."
"Thanks."
"No problem, I ha-"

Jaden cleared his throat ceasing all conversation immediately.
"We all flew pretty damn good today, and you all did a good job out there. Lets keep up the work, for now, we will have to wait till the next mission launch. I believe there is a SIM race, you guys kept talking about?"

"Hyperspace engaged." the voice called out a few seconds later

DJ forgot that the Hyperspace was always a little bumpy. Making sure all of the ships functions are shut off DJ climbed out of the cockpit and walked out of the hanger back to his newly assigned quarters. Typing the code in the console DJ walked in and threw off his combat uniform and threw it in the laundry basket. "The only thing I hate about those things is that they stick to you after a mission".  Sitting down on his bed he pulled out his only possession that he got back on his home world before the New Republic destroyed it. It was a XV-7 Vibrobayonet but it was slightly smaller to that of a long dagger and it was in scripted saying "DJ never forget who you are". Smiling at the fond memory DJ strapped it back on to his sheath on his arm and Put on a comfortable flight suit.

Opening the door he noticed Jaden coming his way. Walking out and locking the door behind him DJ walked up to Jaden and started a friendly conversation with him. "Hello sir" DJ said cheerfully. "Ah Hello DJ" Jaden replied just as happy. "Are you heading to the temporary Aegis quarters for a bit of R&R".

"Actually I was just on my way there now" Jaden replied while passing different people. "Perfect, do you mind if I join you" DJ asked "Sure DJ". Walking towards the quarters DJ hoped Jaden wouldn't ask what that stunt was about back out there while fighting those pirates. Unfortunately for DJ his hopes were crushed when Jaden asked why DJ pulled that stupid stunt. "Umm you see sir I was kind of having way too much fun out there and decided to try something new". DJ replied looking sheepish. "All right I guess I can understand that, but please don't try that same thing again I don't want to lose any members out there especially from a stupid stunt". Jaden replied seriously.

"So Jaden how did the flight do today"? DJ asked. "They did pretty good out there and I'm impressed". As the door made its usual hiss as it opened Jaden and DJ were discussing flight patterns.

"Now if we could get the flight...oh hi Shire." Jaden said. Walking into the Aegis lounge DJ sat on a separate chair and was in deep concentration. 'Well I believe that it was an okay mission I could've done better and I know that I almost let my team down by getting some one almost killed' DJ thought. While DJ was occupied with his own thoughts Shiric walked up to him and tapped his shoulder. "Hey DJ credit for your thoughts".

Looking around the room everyone there was staring at him. "Sorry guys I was kind of in my own little world there". DJ replied. Shaking his head of all the previous thoughts DJ walked over to the Coolbox for drink. Sitting down on the Couch DJ sat Back and waited for Jaden to Continue his speech.

"----So we have to wait until the next briefing or whatever right? Till then, we are pretty lax, yet ready to jump in action?" asked Raigen as he cocked his head slightly to the left. Jaden nodded in reply as he played with the empty water can in his gloved hands.
"Yeah, that's pretty much the case unfortunately. Gotto love it. I'm going to the sims, for practice flight mean while, you guys wanna jump in?" Roars and shouts suddenly sounded making Shiric laugh as Templar and Raigen start roughing each other around as they bolted through the door before it even opened properly. DJ, who has seemed a bit loss in his world, also let a heart laugh escape his mouth. Hunter however remained silent through the humor. Which bothered Shiric quite a bit. She was about to walk over to him as he leaned against the wall, his arms folded over one another on his chest, his eyes closed. Lost in his own world and thoughts.

But as she was about to step closed, someone however grabbed her by the arm. She spun around to the see whoever it was. Jaden shook his head as he mouthed the words to leave Hunter alone. Scratching her head dumbfounded she turned to DJ, asking with her eyes as to what it was about. The older member of the Aegis, and Flight Leader shook his slowly.

"Come on, we should prolly see how the races is going, I would love to see whoever's face that loses." Jaden said as he put up a grin. The grin seemed to have an effect, as both DJ and Shiric copied the grin to their own faces.
"Evil Jaden. Pure Evil." Shiric muttered.
"You think that's evil?" asked DJ with wide eyes before started laughing again, throwing his head back in the process. As they left towards the simulators, Shiric's ComLink beeped however. She frowned when she noticed it was from the Medical Bay.
"Sorry guys, got to take this one." she muttered and walked away. Jaden threw a hand in the air which Shiric supposed, was a wave.
"Yes, this is Shirc. How can I help?"
"Shiric. This is Docter. Haign, we have Lenrax here-"
"Which Medical Bay is this?"
"East Wing sec---"
"Be right there." she said sharply and cut the link. Her frown increased as her worry did. Why would Len possibly be in the Medical Bay? He has never even be shot or stabbed at,  never mind being sick. Shiric took the shortest route she managed to find through of the droids. As she stormed in the medical bay, she stopped however by security.
She tried to struggle free, when a calm voice sounded:
"Leave her, I called her here."
"Now why did ya not say somethin before girl?" asked the guard in a thick accent as he let go, rolling her shoulders back, Shiric glared at him before she turned to the source of the voice.
A man dressed in an Officer's uniform, but most of the uniform was hid by the white jacket he on above. He smiled warmly at her.
"Nothing to worry about, the boy just got back from his mission, got injured, and we need some information that went missing when his files got damaged."
Still Shiric felt unsettled. If something happened to Len. She shuddered and chases the thoughts away with a furious shake of her head.

"Can I see him?" asked Shiric.
"Yes, as we soon as we have managed to stabilize him."
"What!...He hasn't even been stabilized yet?"
" Shiric, calm down."
"How can you expecy---hey!" Shiric struggled as the guard behind her grabbed her by her arms dragged her to the waiting room. Keeping her mouth in check she was obliged to take a seat one of the many chairs the Wing provided. It was cold at touch, and even rougher and harder to sit, the steel of chair carved into her tense muscles, but none of this was noticed. Her eyes were glued to the door, waiting for the doctor to make an appearance. Her mind went back to the events that lead up to that fatal meeting between her and Lenrax.

**On Shiric's twelfth birthday.*
"Ma,"
"Ann"  the voice lingered with a threatening tone.
"Mother."
"Thats better, now what is it that my dear's heart desires?"
Anaine, a.k.a Ann scoffed.
"Can't I go to the city alone for once!. I am not a child neither am I an idiot. Now I demand that you let me go!" Ann stomped her feet.
Ann's mother smiles softly, while her father only stared at her from over his breakfast.
"Your dialect is mature enough, but the stomping feet? No my little angel. You will not go out alone. I will come with you." he spoke. Huffing Ann crossed her arms as her parents continued about their normal morning rituals.
"Ann, we will go after breakfast." her father sighed knowing she was waiting for him. He was a burly man good on his way to sixty yet he seemed to be in his prime forties. It was likewise for her mother. Just then....

Sighing she shook her head. This was quite dumb. Memories has become quite an cliché. Something she hated and despised.
"Hmh..Shairis?" Her head snapped up to the voice. It was a nurse. She didn't bother correcting the nurse on the pronunciation of her name as she usually did. Instead the question that lingered in her mind and eyes, finally spoke.
"Will he live?"
The nurse obviously didn't feel very sympathetic as she rolled her eyes at Shiric
"Nothing dramatic. He lives. He only had a huge amount of lost blood, which is now quickly refilling again. So no need to worry about loverboy." she muttered sarcastic.
Shiric sighed.
"He is not my lover boy---"
"Are you sure? You dont seem to act like it."
"Whatever. Can I go see him now?"

Shiric frowned.
"No, we first need to ask some questions. If you would follow me please." Without waiting for Shiric, the nurse spun around her heel and went through the door. Once again Shiric was obliged to follow through the glass doors. The nurse led her through a variety of narrow corridors and halls which was quite surprising as Shiric has always thought the wing was quite small, and houses a small amount of patients. Clearly not however.

"So what is it, that you would be needing to to get from me?"

00C: When are we going on the next mission? Im running out of ideas to post!
