I just bought Galaxies yesterday, but I can't start it. I click on the Launchpad icon on my desktop and it loads for about 5 minutes and says the server is unavailable. I tried again today and it said the same thing.

I have gone through tech service help, forums, EVERYTHING but nope, still doesnt work.

The things I've tried are connecting right to my modem (instead of my network router in my house), disabling my firewall, virus protection, and everything else like that. I have tried running with my virus protection on and set to low, as well. I've tried connecting to the server addresses on the star wars site to try testing my connectivity to the server but that didn't connect, either.

The wierd thing is...when I tried the 10-day trial a couple weeks ago, it worked fine. All of a sudden it doesn't want to work. The only change I've made on my system since then is connecting my other computer to the network (but remember I tried bypassing it from the network already).

If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.

I'm not sure what the prob is but I AM sure that it is a GREAT game once it works. Now it could have been when the launchpad went inactive for updates but most probably not. I had to reformat my computer a couple of days ago and so i had to reinstall swg but it worked fine... Try reformatting, check Internet connection and if all else fails try reinstalling.

I have done all that and still, nothing. I did read somewhere that it seems anyone who bought the game after the January 19th update is experiencing this problem...so that is probably it. Yeah...guess when I bought it...the DAY AFTER JANUARY 19TH!! lol

Problem solved...my ISP disabled VPN so it wouldn't work but they fixed it. Mwuahahaha...

I think it would run really slow because the distance is 7 from where I am. I have 2 characters on Corbantis but I guess I can make one for Europe-Infinity anyway...

P.S. Any news on the pre-NGE servers that they are setting up? (Rumors, anything!?!?)
