There is a monthly fee, i liked it, i actaully liked it more than the other MMOs i've played, includeing WoW which i just found to be a steaming pile of you-know-what. but i haven't played it in so very long i don't know what its like now (when i played it there were no expansion packs)

In a soon to be update, SOE is making it so anyone and their mom can be a Jedi now. They have basically made the Jedi path public to anyone who wants to be one. It would probably take just as much to be a Jedi (possibly more) than to be any other elite combat profession. Jedi are also now going to be on even fighting grounds as the rest of the combat professions.

When the changes go into place, all you'd have to do is say you'd want to go down the Jedi path and then you can start the journey.

Everyone and their mom was already a Jedi anyways. Only problem was that you couldn't kill them very easily. Once they got certain abilities, it was almost impossible to kill them unless you got lucky.

In PvP, it was lots of Jedi vs lots of Jedi....not very fun. Now they'll be just as easy to kill as the next melee profession depending on their skills/mods. Hopefully this change will make it a more even playing field.

the thing won't let me create a person on the eclipse server, i don't know if it detects pieces left by the installation of SWG i had ages ago on here or if they just don't let you in the trial version.

Thats waaay better anyway. I played the demo last night and i must say i'm quite unhappy with the way they changed things around, it doesn't look like theres crafting professions anymore unless thats what a trader is, all and all it seems like they've just made the amount of professions to choose from very small, there used to be a whole slew of basic professions and advanced professions and you could have a pretty good mixture, but from my few hours playing as a smuggler last night it look like multi-classing wasn't possible (if i am wrong about something it could be that the demo is extrememly limited to just one space station) i still had some fun although to smuggler class seems a little pointless its still my favorite just so i can say 'I'm a smuggler' . I don't think i'll be coughing up $15 a month to play it, maybe theres a little more to it than i saw, if there is some one please tell me, i a my take a whack at playing some of the other professions (like Jedi) tonight. personally i liked the game the way it was when i bought it better. space wasn't that great, i couldnt controlt he pitch of my craft, it says you can do it with the mouse but they're lies. And yes, i did hit the ALT key and change between to two modes and it still made no differance. i did have rudders and i could roll which meant i could control it enough to get my one space mission done.

i really hate to even half agree with vint, but some of our former members are former members because of SWG. then again i know a few of our current members play it still.

space combat works with a joystick althought the controls are wierd (pull the joystick to the side and you *turn* like you're using a rudder, turn the rudder and you roll, really annyoing and difficult to use) i don't know why lucasarts always dose it that way either and you can't change it, otherwise i'm thinkin of paying the monthl fee just for the space combat.
