there is alot of people asking questions about HTML at different times and alot of people who don't use it enough, like in your bios, so heres a couple basic commands for use in your stories and in particular your bios.

I'm only giving you the very basics here, stuff like enormous type, colors and font size you can figure out for yourself, this is just to make you a little more literate at using the comnet and especially MAKING YOUR BIOS READABLE!

<br> Break: It dose what hitting the enter button once dose. so if i put a <br>

<i> </i> Italics: make your text go like this  It is used for the names of ships and often to show unspoken thoughts portrayed with dialog. Also used to show emphasis. You have to put the </i> after it or all your text after the <i> will be italicized.

<b> </b> Bold: makes your text go like this. It is used to show extreme emphasis and often yelling, occasionally used for ship names but rarely, it has the wrong sort of connotation.  You must put the </b> on the end of your bolded word or all your text after the <b> will be in bold.

<a href=http://www.'whatever'.com> 'anchor' </a> Hyperlink: Links to another page like so. Alright, so where I put whatever you put the web address, you have to have the entire http://www.etc etc. . . or else it won't work. alright after that is your anchor, the piece of text that you want to have click-able, i used 'so' it can be anything you want, just be sure to put the </a> after it or there will be no link [Edit: Thanks Willt]. As far as i know you can have any amount of html coding in between

This has the enormous advantage over the the screen shot add because the pictures aren't distorted, you can post more than one and you don't waste our server space hosting the images. Also you may find the screen shot feature Kadann gave us simpler and easier to use, fine be that way.
Note that you should upload the a picture onto a free image hosting site like photobucket, also photobucket will give you the code to used to link to a picture, here's the one they gave me.

Alright, I think thats about it. Have fun and fix those bios. Sorry if this is else where on the site, but i couldn't find it. I know kip did some DHTML on the EC board, but it didn't go into bolds and italics and hyperlinking and such, so I thought this might be a handy resource, also the bios that are just blocks of text are hard to read and irritating.

Pretty much everything other then the breakline should be close.

Otherwise it can cause formating problems and look really wierd on some browsers.  Some can still understand enough of the code that you think it might work but if you go to a different browser, oh boy.

If anyone wants I can recommend some pretty deceant refference books for xhtml 1.0 strict.

So far there isn't anything that's different then what you posted.  When I get home I could e-mail the title of the books I had for my college web design class(probably no better then your own class really).

After all outside of class in the real world you do not have to use xhtml strict 1.0.  That's just what I was taught.
