As you develop your character as a Dark Jedi, do you have the ability to choose all their attributes? Such as:

Fighting style-Kendo, Jujitsu, etc.
Saber Color-Blue, Purple
What you want to accomplish as a DJK
Force Powers

Another thing, how do your abilities as DJK's advance?
Do you use the same system as the Army? (Specialty stories)

Does your character in the DJO affect your character in the Army or Navy? I know we've discussed how DJK's are supposed to keep their identity secret when on duty in the Army, but does that mean you have to surpress your DJO character?

Yes,
if your chara are troopies, as you reach certain point, you may able to use bachagi (woohoo) and able to pull 3 hits mid-air hadouken.

if your chara are flighties, as you reach certain point, you may mind trick your wingmate to be a tank/meat/tie-shield/crash-test-dummy while your tie are fleeing from a battle to the nearest cantina.

if your chara are engiees, as you reach certain point, you may turn back the time of  your clock office since the deadline are near. It affects your clocks only, though... do-oh.

If you're expecting it to be like the speciality system being implemented in the army at the moment, it's not.

DJO members are mature and trusted enough to keep their characters abilities within reason

Your character's abilities in the Force (his/her talents) isn't like the specialties skills at all. They don't "grow" after x-amount of weeks. It's just different - a different system.

Don't think of it in terms of "powers." That's my biggest beef with the games. You've got different types of abilities that the Force allows you to use. Your character can be weaker or stronger in different areas. The more you use a certain thing, the better you are at it. Your abilities can stagnate if you don't use certain things for a while. Also, if you push yourself too hard and do things you're not ready for you can age faster or hurt yourself. Most of this is self-policed. The majority of the Order knows how to make it realistic enough. The rest are learning. One thing that the better writers have grasped is that it's a better story if there are flaws and struggles.

You're right though, Hellra. Your character in the DJO is your own, just like in any other division. You get to decide what you want your character to be... but within the confines of reason.

ya, like i am constantly updating my bio, and adding side talks and backflases in my spec stories, those small notes in my squasd stories, and side notes in spec stories all form one big story of who my char is.
