This is a bit off topic, but trust me, my posts are way different then my writing skills, writing skills are way better than my posts, and i don't have a beta reader,
Its just when i reply posts i type fast, and i don't look what i am typing, and also i switch words, its disfuntionality of me, i am right handed, and i am right footed, but my left eye is dominant, which why i am poor with aim...i guesss...but this is way off topic, i just felt that i should defend my self if thats ok....

By just reading over your post at least once to correct some of the minor errors, this will show more professionalism as well as maturity on your part. This is why it is encouraged to do so. Also, when reading posts that aren't grammatically correct, they becomes harder to read as well as take more time. Many times people will just skip over your post because it gets annoying to keep trying to figure out what is meant by the words written.
Keep this in mind when writing on the ComNet. This will go over big time with your commanders as they will focus on you more rather than just glance at your messages. -----------------------

Kad, I think you should become a motivational speaker, I'd buy your tapes  Hellra, he's right. Whenever I see your name on a post I read the first line, become confused and skip over. It's not that difficult to spell correctly and form readable sentences is it? Just take your time, maybe even take a few typing classes or buy the software. -----------------------

Anyway, if you know you are an terrible writer, get your self a beta reader or buddy, you and the buddy read through each other's works and correct and point mistakes out. |

I really have no idea what you just said, but some keyboards do actually suck. I also had one that you had to press some keys really hard or else it wouldn't work so I ended up missing half my sentence. -----------------------

Don't copy someone else's post, I have noticed people copying actions that happened in a previous post because they didn't have the imagination to do it first.
If you have done it once or twice, its fine, but four times? That's ridiculous and iritating.
And when you write, please, please, please get the rest of your squad's personality right. Dont make them do stuff they wouldn'tt do in reality.
They are REAL characters, not filler characters you can use in your post to enchance your own character.
And last but not least; DONT POWER PLAY.
You are not the only person in that story, so dont try playing hero, it piss most people off.

Okay, so I'm new here, but I'm a fairly decent writer. So, I thought I'd add in my own two cents. In addition to thoughts, I like to use italics when I want to place a lot of emphasis on a word or phrase. Also, when you write, don't specifically try to be new or innovative; just write what comes to your head at first. Try to develop your own unique "voice" in writing. Then, go back and check through what you just wrote--eliminate the crap, reword the weird stuff--and your writing should improve dramatically.
Oh, and weak writers (grammatically speaking) should take English 9 or Comp or something like that. Just take some English courses to master the basics, then read a lot (see that italics emphasis at work there?) to fine-tune your writing so that it becomes more like an art. Well, yeah, that's what I had to say.

Alright, whenever I write posts I indent each new paragraph. Most people, on the other hand, just put a space between them. Why? When I read books, they follow the indentation format. -----------------------
