nyone own JTL here? as i sit here patiently waiting 8 hours for the 10 day trial to download (4th time!!!! ARRR it wont stop screwing up!)
i wonder to myself is this game really going to be worth $25 bucks a month australian?

Since I have not invested in JTL I cannot tell you for certain.
All I can tell you is that basic SWG is not worth $15 US a month. -----------------------

that of course is a matter of opinion. I loved the basic SWG, but I was always doing something fun like PVP or whatnot. I do have JTL and I love it, there are several people from here that play JTL. Its a blast... I am still getting the hang of the whole space battle thing, however I loved riding in the Aces ships and shooting things... Great fun IMHO well worth the money. -----------------------

I love both. As my signature says, I'm addicted. IMHO it is worth it. Think of what else you could do with that much money....
...in the US you could go bowling 1 night for the same price
... you could see some movies
... eat out at a restuarant
but all those things are onetime deals. I'm willing to sacrifice one trip to the movies, or one bowling trip to enjoy a month's worth of fun for the same price. -----------------------

Just wandering how does the pilotting work?
Is it like above and beyond, where the world is mostly two dimensional and you attack with a simple click and go, or is there more to it? -----------------------

It is basically like XvT. You fly around and target things. It is 3-dimensional, just you don't have all the functionality, such as being able to add more power to shields/lasers and such. There are other abilites, like calling in a bomber strike(reinforcements), nebula blast, which damages a wide area inside a nebula, and overloads. The overloads overload the power to the major components of the ship, such as your reactor and lasers.
You can also customize your ship with different parts. This is only restricted by the level you are certified for and the available mass in your ship. Another major difference is that the maps are smaller; you can hit "the edge of the map". The scenes are beautiful and I think JTL is a must for all SWG players. If you don't like flying, I would still recommend it as a way of instantly travelling to your desired planet for free. No more shuttle waits. -----------------------

Yes. You actually have to lead your target and you can target different components. You can fly with the mouse and keyboard, or you can use a Joystick if you have one. It is very similiar to all other flight sims. -----------------------

We sure would. We have a full squadron of Imperial Pilot Aces, conviently named Viper Squadron. You'll also have to rejoin CU because we had a problem with our guild number or such some nonsense and had to reform. It's no big deal, you just have to have Hardesty, Affi, or Smurg re-add you. -----------------------

whoo! i'll come back this summer when i have money again, just out of curiosity, how dose it work with the expansion, would i then have to pay $30 a month for both, or would i just have to pay on $15 a month fee, or as i will do it, whatever it costs for a years subscription? -----------------------

Same monthly fee, $15. You don't have to pay extra for JTL, you just have to buy the expansion, not pay monthly for it. -----------------------

You need to go into subscriptions and resubscribe. I think you need to change your billing information, then it will bring up the subscription info and you just pick which one you want, 1 month, 3 months, 1 year, etc. I'm sorry I can't go into more detail at the moment, but I don't have it in front of, I'm at work. I wish it was installed on my work computer. I can give you exactly where to go when I get home. -----------------------

I'd recommend the game time cards instead of paying by any other method.
That way you won't get auto billed if you need to take some time off because you can't afford to play the game. -----------------------
