  STOP! KEREST THOSE MEN!

OOC: Here it is! At long last your HSC Story. Right now, this is the officer's mission: but I encourage you to read the backstory that I posted as well as keep up with this one. Until further notice though, the only ones allowed to post on this thread will be: Fury, Peacemaker, Rizzit, Raziel, Virius, Kami, Merrick, Afyon, Rema, Phoenix, Cyanus, Otto Vox, Kurioshi, Trigit, Argon and Cosmic. Basically its Fire Team Captains, Assistant Squad Leaders, Squad Leaders or higher. IF I left someone out, I do apoligize: but I think i have everyone here.

It was a quiet day to be in Fury's office. Nothing really seemed to be happening at the minute: or so it seemed. Rizzit and Raziel traveled to Fury's office, only to be summoned in by the head man himself. It seemed rather urgent, judging by the tone of his voice.

"Do you two mind telling me where you where during the security breach?" Fury asked.

"What breach? Where? If you must know, we were 'visiting' with Shantsa sir." Replied Rizzit.

"Well, you were right in the middle of it then, or should have been at least!" Fury said while starting at the blank expressions on the two officers' faces. "No? Well, I guess I better inform you on what happened. Maybe an hour ago, we had at least two squads consisting of various species trying to break into the prison. The alarm sounded here, and I'm assuming in your office as well. Peacemaker and I went to go help hold them off, and it's a good thing too cause no one else came. Anyways, we did have help: a good deal of prison guards that were off duty and those on duty all pitched in to help rid the prison of the intruders. It was quite a big battle for such a small number of troopers, and I have no doubt that they were after the big guy and his counterpart. In fact, I think three managed to break into the prison."

Rizzit and Raziel's eyes widened. "Did you say break into?" They said together.

"Yes, but they didn't get far... They only made it to ground level in the very lightly secured area. Peacemaker had seen them apparently, and followed them to head them off. Using his disruptor rifle, he made short work of all of them. As you both know, that's not a rifle I care for, but it got the job done, so I'm not complaining. In the meantime, while he cleaned up his mess, I cleaned up mine with the guards.
Granted, I didn't have a clean sweep like he did: I had a hard time, plus we lost some lives, I got the job done though. We weren't able to determine who was leading this group due to the nature of the battle (and the disintegrations of the three that got in), but I have a good feeling that this is the New Republic's work. The whole mess leaves us totally clueless. If anything, I think this little incident proves one thing: people know something about our prisoners that we have here, and that isn't a good thing. Shantsa and the so-called 'Savior' must be moved to another facility."

Rizzit choose this moment to speak up, seeing as how it looked like Fury was finished.

"Fury, thats precisely the same reason that we came to see you when we did. I've been worried over this for a while now, nothing had happened before today and it was almost a year. I kept telling myself that things were too quiet for us having two commanders held up here. We made a small trip underground to pay a visit to the pair, and I find the both of them incapable of giving us any information. This has
been for over a year, and even being as drugged up as they are, I find them to be a waste of our time. After my visit though, I did have the guard fit them with a special transmitter that was in their food. If anything did happen to them, we'll know how to find them. I'm getting off track though: we had come to ask you what could be done about them. I'm going to assume this 'breach' occurred shortly after Raziel and myself left the prison. Anyways, seeing as how we all agree here on the
fact that they need to be transferred: where are they going to go?"

"They will be sent to Nariss C. There's a facility there with more resources than we have here. We can't afford to keep fighting off infiltration squads like this: its a waste of good ammunition and time. The security there is also much tighter, and there is no chance of the new republic getting to them there. The only problem is getting them there, we have the transports to send them there: but we have no escort fighters."

"It's a chance we will just have to take!" said an anxious Peacemaker as he walked in the room still holding his disruptor rifle. "I am out of ammo for my rifle, and I don't feel like buying more just to waste on invasion squads. Send them now, and we'll get some drones to back them up if necessary."

"I suppose that's the wisest choice. Drone fighters aren't well known for their firepower, but hopefully it'll be enough to fend off whatever happens to them. I'm not expecting them to take on an assault ship or something. Okay, give the word to move the two prisoners. Hopefully, we'll be rid of their presence for good."

A good four hours later after the paperwork was filled out, arrangements were made, a route was planned, and the transports were ready the two prisoners were ready to head for their new home. Buschelle went along quietly, while Shantsa on the other hand had quite a few requests. He was very specific about the room he wanted in their new home; all of this as well as anything else he babbled was ignored without question. At long last the two prisoners were situated in the transport, and final preparations were made to take off.

Two pairs of stormtroopers boarded the transport. Just in case the prisoners tried something funny (or the drugs wore off), they were going to be held down with force. They took their positions on either side of each prisoner just in case. The pilot began to takeoff, and the ship's engines started to whirl. Within no time, they were off the ground and on their way to Nariss C. A half an hour later, in the midst of space, the ship began to shake.

"Ooh, I like this ride." Shantsa said. "It feels like you're really flying."

The stormtroopers on either side of him looked at each other, then the one on the right pounded Shantsa's head. Being weak as he was, the force of the trooper's fist knocked him unconscious.

"Now that he's taken care of, what was that?" One asked.

"Felt like a laser blast, only stronger. Let's hope the drones can take care of whatever it is."

"I hope so, but I have a feeling that we're in trouble."

"There it is again! Where are those drones? Pilot! Can you speed up a bit?"

"I'm afraid that's not possible sir. I am afraid that last blast was from an ion cannon. We're paralyzed at the minute, and we're caught in a tractor beam. That new republic capital ship is pulling us in."

"Oh my, this doesn't look good at all..." They all said in unison.

Meanwhile back on ISD Dominion, Ruu'Dolf Dere was monitoring the course of the ship via the two transmitters placed on Shantsa and Buschelle. They started drifting off the course of Nariss C. At first it was thought that they had a problem and needed to take a small detour, but after a while Dere realized that they changed course altogether. He decided to first contact the Transport.

Prison Transport this is ISD Dominion, do you copy?

No reply came back.

Prison Transport this is ISD Dominion DO YOU COPY?

There was still no response.

Dere in turn decided to contact Fury who was still in a meeting with Rizzit and Raziel. Apparently, they felt it necessary to discuss the matter while the prisoners were transported. In the middle of a sentence, Fury's Receiver beeped.

"Hold up! Someone's contacting me." Fury said as he pressed a button on the console. "Go ahead, this is Fury."

"Greetings General, this is the dominion. It seems that the shuttle we sent off to Nariss C has changed course. They have gone straight past it and are currently headed farther away from Vast Empire space. I believe that at the minute they are somewhere in the core worlds. I've tried contacting the transport, and there is no reply. I have a few guesses as to what happened, but none of them seem to have a greater chance of happening than the rest so..."

"When you get a definite lock on their position, report back to me." Fury said as he closed the link with the dominion. He then turned to face the three officers in the room with him. "Now do you see why I wanted escort fighters? This might have been avoided if we waited! Let's just hope that we can get a lock on that system. In the meantime, you two go get the squads assembled: Peacemaker and I shall remain here."

About an hour later Dere contacted Fury once again and informed him that it seemed like they were headed back to AlzocIII. Fury noted that it was impossible for them to have built another base there, due to the fact that it has been under Imperial control and monitoring for the past year. After being told to take a closer look at their present course, Dere noticed that although they were in the system of Yag'Dhul, they were actually headed for the Sluis sector; which was a good distance from AlzocIII. There were some pretty important planets in the sector, and Dere knew that no one would dare build a base there. After removing chances of them going there, one planet was left: Kerest. It was quite desolate except for some barbaric inhabitants: just the place to have a base. After reporting this back to Fury, he contacted Rizzit who at the minute was on his way back with all the Squad Leaders and assistants in the army. Rizzit was ordered to just bring them into his office so he may brief everyone on the mission. Rizzit followed orders, and shortly after talking with Fury, everyone was in his office listening to what he had to say.

"Greetings everyone! It seems the New Republic has taken us by surprise again. 'Savior' and Shantsa have escaped from us and are traveling on some unknown spacecraft. We are currently assuming that our prison transport has been destroyed altogether or there is no one left alive on it. Either way, they have their commanders back. Right now, the dominion has tracked them to be headed to Kerest. They are not there yet however, but it is pointless to chase after them. We'll never make it in time. So, that leaves us with a few questions to ponder. Why did they wait until now to take these two sad excuses for commanders? Why take them to begin with? There must be some reason that they need these two in particular. Some would say that it is just a common revenge tactic, but I tell you now: I think they're up to something. They might have a super weapon; they might have troopers that only swear loyalty to these commanders (however unlikely), but one thing's for sure: we need to go after them. That leaves us with our plan of action: you all are going to head back to your squads and get them up to the ISD Dominion. We're going to launch a ground assault on Kerest. However, we won't be able to just walk right in; so we're going to have to sneak in first. We can't use the frigate that we used last year, due to the fact that it blew up with the base on AlzocIII; so we need to steal a new one. Unfortunately, a full-scale attempt to steal a New Republic frigate or anything along those lines would draw too much attention to ourselves that we really don't want at the minute. Anyways, we're going to be headed for the shipyards at Sluis Van. We need to sneak in there which will be nearly impossible to begin with: then we need to steal a decent-sized ship that'll be able to carry all of wraiths as well as convince the New Republic that we're on they're side. I'm sure we won't be totally unnoticed, but any combat that we engage, must be on the down-lo. We will meet resistance, I'm just hoping that there isn't too much of it. With six DarkJedi though, I'd say we're in good shape. Anyways, meet up on the dominion in two hours. Your squads will wait there while the sixteen of us make our attempt to steal the shuttle. Be sure you're there! I'll leave without you if you're late!"

When the room finally got over its shock of their commander's words, they saluted him without saying anything and filed out of the room one by one. Rizzit and Raziel headed for their office, to get the gear they needed. They would then be taking Rizzit's Starwind Yacht to make it to the dominion. The rest of them were headed to the barracks to get their squads and arrive using their squad transports. On the way back in their landspeeder, Rizzit gave a sigh.

"Now what?" Raziel asked.

"I knew it! I just knew something would happen. Now everything we did last year was a total waste: they're escaped and we need to devise a whole new plan for getting them."

Raziel said nothing, but just kept on driving. In less than two hours, they would be back on the dominion ready to begin yet another mission that started with the New Republic getting the better of the empire!

Sitting in the very back corner of the briefing room, Phoenix snorted at the shock and confusion radiating from the assembled troops. It didn't take a genius to figure out that an unescorted Imperial transport crossing New Republic space lanes would be a prime target.

"Weaklings." Phoenix muttered. Leaning over to Cyanus who sat back and to the left of his Squad Leader, he aid "We don't need their help. The two of us could easily accomplish this mission."

A second voice added itself into the conversation. "You mean three."

Otto Vox, Fire Team Captain of the Raiders, turned his head slightly to address his commanders. "Just remember that this isn't the Order Phoenix."

"I know damn well this isn't the Order. We wouldn't have been bumbling enough to let the prisoners escape. The Army should have let US interrogate them." Phoenix replied with a sharp edge in his voice.

The breifing began to break up as Fury dismissed the assembled commanders. Standing up and stretching as if awakening from a long nap, Phoenix nodded to his fellow Raiders and pulled the hood of his cloak over his head.

"Let's go."

The trio of Dark Jedi Knights walked out in unison, drawing the eye of the few officers still in the room. Phoenix porjeted his senses out, and read the thoughts of the few closest to him. Most were suspicious of the Jedi, not being able to fathom the power of the Dark Side, while one mind in particular seemed fixed on Phoenix.

A smile grew on Phoenix's face. Kami.

He sent her a small pulse through the Force, enough to make her yelp from surpiise as the door slid shut behind him.

The speeder ride back was silent until they reached the Raiders' barracks. Once inside, Phoenix motioned towards Cyanus and Otto. "Go collect you belongings and back here in 30 minutes."

The two each nodded silently and sent a quick affirmative through the Force. Phoenix watched them depart, each walking away with the gait of a predator hunting its prey.

Six Dark Jedi is overkill Phoenix thought to himself. Sighing and shaking his head, he quickly made his way back to his quarters.

The small room was mostly empty, as almost all of his belongings were still on Lopen. On a small nightstand next to the bed rested a holoprojector, cycling through random images. Phoenix viewed them with bored detachment. They were not his memories, they were Jikkyo's.

He reached over to turn it off, but stopped as the picture changed to one of him...well Fallen Angel, standing with Kami, not long after he had recruited her.

"Was that human emotion I just felt?" A distant voice said.

Phoenix immediately recognized the voice, but shook his head. Impossible, I killed him The voice remained silent, so Phoenix crossed the room, avoiding the small table on which FA had spent countless hours playing sabaac and drinking with Cyanus and Otto.

Reahing the dresser, Phoenix opened the double doors and removed his mimetic stormtooper armor. Won't be needing this. Casting it aside, he took out his twin IR-5 repeating blasters and slung their holster around his waist. He then unclipped his lightsaber from the belt around his cloak and attached it to the holster. Then he carefully placed the two dozen throwing knives in the back of the holster. Finally he grabbed his E-11H and closed the dresser.

Reaching underneath his bed with the Force, a large duffel bag floated towards him. He smiled as the bag settled on the ground in front of him, its deadly contents carefully arranged. Picking it up with his left hand, Phoenix left the room and silently made his way to the landspeeder to await Otto and Cyanus...

Otto quickly packed his things for the mission that most of the platoon was afraid of. And it was a very good thing that none of them were going for the hard part, which, to six Dark Jedi, would be like taking candy from a baby. The only thing that would cause any type of problem would be if a Force-sensitive was on the station. But the likelihood of that was very small. Yes, six Dark Jedi was most likely overkill, but it's better to have more than to have less. They would make small work of any New Republic forces onboard a space station. The Empire rarely would be able to stop six Dark JedI with anything on a space station; the New Republic would have no hope whatsoever.

As he strapped his wrist lasers onto his arms, Otto snuffed in contempt, remembering the briefing and the reaction of his two counterpart Dark Jedi. One, his own former apprentice to be so arrogant to question the leadership skills of the High Council. Second, the man that he put into the leader position of the strongest squad in the Vast Empire Army, sending arousing signals to a fellow officer. Ridiculous behavior. Yes, they were Dark Jedi, yes they were different men than who he knew before they became full Dark JedI, but still, a sense of respect for authority.

Aah, well, he thought to himself, there's not much I can do, it's who they are now, Cyanus and Pheonix, no longer Dee and Fallen. Pity, they were so much more fun. I just hope these two new people don't get in my way when they shouldn't

He donned and tightened his Barabel microbe armor, and through a commando tunic over it, grabbed his utility belted and strapped it on. Lastly he picked up his lightsabre, its clawed blade emitter, and hilt butt glinting in the dim artificial light. He thumbed the blade on and with its snap-hiss the black-to blood-red blade protruded and lit the room better than the dead lighting. Smoothly flipping the blade back and forth in the empty space, its hum creating the only sound in the room, Otto was satisfied and grinned lightly as he turned the blade off and clipped the hilt to his utility belt.

Glancing at his chronometer, Otto realized that he had some time on his hands, so he decided to look into his old weapons chest that he carried around almost everywhere, just incase he needed something.

First he took out his old Sat'skar Sword, the weapon that first got him into the Dark Jedi Order. He set it aside and his eyes widened as he saw his old Ryyk blades. Reluctantly he decided they would be too much to take with him, and settled with his old Peasant Beater, the wooden club wrapped with Corellian metal.

He stuffed it into his pack and walked out the door towards the hangar where he would meet up with his two close friends whom he barely knew.

Varron flexed his claws and stared down at the puny human who was currently threatening to have him beaten to a pulp.
"Yes sir!" The drill sergeant screamed, "Don't you dare mess with me you over-grown gecko!"
A growl erupted deep in the pit of Varron's throat, his claws itching maddeningly.
"Calm down Varron." He felt a restraining hand on his shoulder, and span around, ready to rip the throat out of the owner. A slim young woman stood calmly in her place, exuding self-confidence. She flashed him a smile "You might get yourself hurt."
"Kami," he growled, his eyes traveling over her white stormtrooper armor before coming to a rest on her rank badge, "An imperial...and a sergeant."
"Newly promoted." Kami looked over to the drill sergeant, who was watching the exchange suspiciously, "He's a friend of mine, an old friend."
"Friend?" Varron let out a low growl, "According to whom?"
Kami's bright green eyes narrowed and took on a gleam of coldness, "Be nice Varron... you're not on your turf anymore."
Varron hissed angrily, "I should've killed you when I had the chance."
Kami's expression became scornful, "You tried Varron, remember? Or did I smack your head against that drainpipe too many times?"
Varron's hiss became a snarl, "I could tear you to pieces right now."
Kami laughed, "We're on the same side Varron, so I'm not sure that's such a great career move for you. In fact..." She held up a datapad, "In here is a notification from General Cosmic. It seems like you've been transferred into Iron Horse, under my command."
Varron let out a scream of fury, smashing his clawed fist into the nearby wall.
The drill sergeant stumbled backwards, the colour draining from his face, while Kami watched the display with an eyebrow half raised in amusement.
Varron punched the wall a few more times, before turning anger ridden eyes towards Kami,
"This is a mistake."
Kami slapped the datapad in his hand, and threw him a wink, "Deal with it. You start immediately. The boss and I are taking you up to the Dominion for a little down time with your new squad mates."
Turning, she flicked her long dark hair over her shoulders before disappearing down a side corridor.
Varron let out another scream of rage, before trailing in her wake.
That woman was infuriating...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kami led Varron through the twists and turns of the VE base, heading towards the hanger where Virius was waiting with the rest of the newly formed Iron Horse Squad.
"Keep up Varron" She called over her shoulder, rounding the wide corridor that branched out into the opening of the docking bay.
Varron let out a string of swear words in reply, smashing a young Private out of his way. Kami felt a grin tug at the corners of her mouth.
Vee was gonna like this one.
The assassin snarled as he stomped up to her shoulder, "Where's the transport?
Kami nodded at the small group of figures standing at the ramp of a shuttle to their left, "Right there."
As the duo neared, Virius raised a hand in greeting. He turned to address the two storm troopers standing behind him, "Trike, Mara, this is Sergeant Kami. She's our second in command."
Kami waved a sloppy salute at the two IH troopers, "Welcome to the team."
Varron came to a halt, then snarled, causing Trike to leap a foot into the air.
Vee raised an eyebrow at the Trandoshan, looking up at his towering form "And this must be the infamous Varron?"
Varron flicked his gaze to the SL, then spat on the ground near Vee's feet, "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Kami's flicked her blaster into her hands, lodging its barrel into Varron's neck.
"Show some respect Varron..." she hissed, "Or you can go right back to rotting in that jail cell."
Varron grunted, glowered at Kami, then straightened, "Sorry Sir."
Vee nodded, his expression amused, "We're headed up with Rizzit, so you lot can get moving."
Kami gave Varron a push forwards and watched him tramp up into the shuttle after Mara and Trike, relieved that the first meeting of Iron Horse had passed without bloodshed.

Phoenix wasn't waiting long. Each in their typical fashion Cyanus and Otto arrived at the speeder. Something in the way Otto looked at him made Phoenix tap into the Force to try and get a radar lock on what it was for. Much to his dismay, he ran into a solid wall around Otto's mind.

Pondering the meaning of this, Phoenix brought his senses back into the real world and popped the hatches on Incom T-17 Landspeeder. Cyanus took the front passenger seat, while Otto sat in the back with Phoenix's duffle bag of "goodies."

Kicking in the repulor coils and firing the main drive, the modified landspeeder shot away from the Raider's headquarters.

The ride itself physically went smoothly and without a hitch, but inside the speeder it was far from friendly. Agitation and contempt spewed off of Otto, and more than once Phoenix felt the eyes of his FTC boring into the back of his head.

As they reached Rizzit's private docking bay and the three disembarked the T-17, Phoenix pulled Otto aside. "Otto. FA respected you and admired you. I respect you. If you have something you need to say to me. Say it."

Taking a deep breath the FTC began, "You may be a Dark Jedi, but that doesn't automatically make you better than the people in that briefing room. Fury and PM have done things without the use of the Force that we could only hope to accomplish with it. For you and Cy to sit there all smug is disrespectful, and not of the Order."

Fire blazed in the souless black eyes of the Sith Knight, "First Otto, my contempt  is not for Fury or PM. Second, it is for the weaklings who sat there slack-jawed and bug-eyed at the prospect of invading Sluis Van. I could smell their fear it was so concentrated. Their fear makes them weak."

Phoenix finished by asking, "Is that all?"

Otto's eyes met Phoenix's vacant orbs without flinching, "I sensed what you did back in the room. The Force is not a play thing. It is a tool to be used to accomplish goals. That, and your conduct was NOT one befitting that of a future officer and leader. You're in the ARMY. Act like it."

Phoenix had no response to this. He just let the fire burn brighter in his eyes. Several moments passed by, niether flinching or lowering their gaze. "We clean now?" Phoenix finally said.

"For now." The Krath Knight responded.

Around the corner a head appeared, then a second one. The first was Cyanus, the second was the Platoon Adjuant and fellow Dark Jedi, Raziel.

"You guys ok over here?" Raz inquired. "I picked up some pretty nasty turbulence."

"We're fine." Phoenix replied, "Otto and I were just clearing up a few things."

"Well good, lets get going then. The rest of the officers are beginning to arrive."

Shooting Otto one last look, Phoenix hoisted his duffel bag and slung his E-11 around his shoulder. Cyanus wordlessly fell in step alongside him, his calm, cool demeanor unphased.

Phoenix was Cyanus' only real link to the Raiders and most of the Army anymore. His speciality as a scout served little to help him, since it kept him mostly on his own away from the squad.

Ascending the boarding ramp to Rizzit's yacht, the three Dark Jedi Knights entered the main cabin. Kami and Virius were already on board, and they were soon joined by Kuroishi and Trigit.

Phoenix nodded and sent a breif Hello through the Force to his fellow Sith and Sect member. Trigit nodded in return and then took his seat. This arrival meant they were just waiting on Merrick, Firefrog, Afyon and Rema.

"Welcome aboard Rizzo's shuttling service," Rizzit's voice crackled over the comm system, "Once all passengers have boarded we will be lifting off. Please make sure your safety harnesses are latched, and all appendages are safely tucked on your persons. Thank you and enjoy the flight.

Phoenix smiled. At least some of these people aren't weak. He thought to himself. Clearing his mind, Phoenix opened himself up to the Force around him and molded his consciousness along the ebbs and tides of the Force. Takig a deep breath, he settled back in his seat and lost all sense of himself as he went into a meditative state. His last sense was a pair of eyes watching him...

Otto took one last look at Phoenix, who was slipping into a Force-trance, wondering what the hell to do next with the two strangers that had taken the place of the two men that he once knew and trusted with his life. Now, he couldn't even claim to be the slightest of friends with them, just acquaintances. Too much had changed since Fallen Angel, and even his own apprentice, D-13, went off and lost their identities to these power hungry, arrogant things. He was even wondering if it had been a good idea to step down as Raiders SL and leave it to such a man. But at that point Fallen was still Fallen, and not even the strongest of Jedi Masters could foresee such an occurrence. But he still wondered. Shaking off the problem, he rested his head back on head cushion of his seat and focused on the matter at hand.

He had been absent from the action of last years mission to capture these two New Republic commanders, and knew very little about them other than the fact that they disturbed Rizzit greatly. Knowing the man his entire career in the VE, Otto knew that Rizzit didn't get disturbed easily. The past year and the fact that no one had come to rescue those two pathetic excuses for living beings had taken a toll on Rizzit's nerves. And Otto was asking himself the same question as every one else Why would they wait until now?
He supposed that it didn't really matter, all that mattered was getting the filth back, get them to Nariss C, and find out whatever they knew, what ever it took. And the Vast Empire would do whatever it took.

He decided to open himself up to the Force to sense the possible nerves of those non-Jedi around him, when he could sense the thoughts of a fellow Jedi upon him. He lifted his head off the back of the chair and opened his eyes to see Cyanus quickly turn away from looking at him. Great, I suppose now I have to have a confrontation with him as well.  He sent a small message through Force to his former apprentice We will deal with the matter at another time, focus on the mission ahead of us. Cyanus quickly snapped his head back to Otto and glared, but reluctantly nodded his head as Rizzit settled the yacht on the floor of the Dominion hangar.

The hatch hissed open and the sixteen Army officers un-strapped them selves and moved towards the back of the shuttle. As Otto stepped off the boarding ramp, he saw the Raiders' shuttle enter the hangar through the force-field protecting the bay from the vacuum of space and settle on the floor of the hangar close to Rizzit's yacht. Otto stood at the foot of the loading ramp and watched as his fellow Raiders loaded out of their shuttle. Sensing a very familiar presence coming to his side, he sighed and lowered his head.

"Remember the days that we flew that thing onto the battlefield?" Rizzit said

    "Recently, all too well."

"How's that?"

    "I'll tell you later."

"Seems like a different age doesn't it?"

"The time has just slipped by," Otto sighed again, this time lifting his head, "Alright, enough of the past, let's go get these pathetic wastes of life."

Rizzit chuckled and patted Otto on the back, "Whatever you say oh Dark One."

"Shut it, Young One," Otto grinned, shouldered his bag and followed Rizzit to the where rest of the officers had assembled.

Cyanus found himself walking straight behind Rizzit and Otto. He wondered what Otto had against Phoenix and himself. He decided to settle things right there. Focusing on his ex-master, the Krath snapped off a quick and confused message. What is going on? I never wronged you, Otto. I might be different, but I'm just unaccustomed to this army business.
An angry reaction flooded from the first sergeant. It's just you, You two are totally different from your former selves. It's...I don't know how to say it.
Reflecting for a moment, Cyanus tapped Rizzit on the shoulder. "Can I have a word with Otto?"
"Yeah sure, just make it to the meeting point on time."
With that, the platoon commander wandered off. Otto folded his hands over his chest and waited for the inevitable criticism.
"Otto, I do realize that I'll never be who this 'Dee' was, I do apologize for whatever I said back there that angered you. I'm not like that normally, you know," Cyanus said coolly. He had sensed Otto's doubt about his and Phoenix's abilities, but couldn't speak for Phoenix himself. "Truce...for now?"
Surprised, Otto kept silent for a moment, then turned toward the gathering officers. "I'll think about it."
Bastard, but Otto was right; now was not the time for personal things.

OOC: Just fixing a little personality misunderstanding. By the way, are the squads with us on the shuttle ride to the Dominion or are they left behind?

Phoenix came out of his meditation as the yacht touched down the decks of the Dominion. He had felt the tension escalating between Cyanus and Otto during the flight. What the exchange entailed he wasn't quite sure.

This better be fixed before we get into the thick of things

Unstrapping himself from the seat, Phoenix swung the shoulder restraints away and stretched his cramped muscles. He let out a small groan as tendons stretched and muscles contracted. It's good to feel alive.

Reaching into the overhead compartment, the Sith Knight retrieved his duffelbag of goodies and E-11/H rifle. Slinging one over each shoulder, he wound his way past the other NCOs and out of the yacht. He reached the boarding ramp just in time to see a brief exhange between Otto and Cyanus, then both storm off in opposite directions. This is not good.

As he walked down the ramp, Pheonix saw the other members of Raiders disembarking from the squad transport on the opposite side of the hanger. He stretched out that direction with the Force, expanding his sphere of influence. From each of the Raiders he picked up a rather bored disinterest. Only two of them had been around for Alzoc III, and none of them seemed to care much about the escape of two bumbling Republic Officers.

Deciding to leave them to their work, Phoenix drew the hood of his cloak over his head, and withdrew ino the shadows of the hanger. The Dominion lurched slightly as the Victory Class Star Destroyer made the jump into hyperspace.

Pushing out his sphere of influence again, Phoenix quickly located his two brethern. Cyanus was wandering newarby, probably on his way to his quarters, while Otto was discussing something with Rizzit while heading towards the bridge.

Touching both of their minds, Phoenix sent out the message We need to talk...now. Lounge, 10 minutes. He received an immediate affirmative from Cyanus, while Otto's was a bit hesitant.

If I don't fix this situation, the command staff of Raiders will tear itself apart, and since we represent half the Dark Jedi on this mission, we'll be putting the lives of the others at risk. Phoenix mentally chided himself for not seeing this coming.

"Since when do you care about others?"

Phoenix stopped dead at the sound of that same voice haunting him from earlier. "WHERE ARE YOU!?" He shouted, but once again the voice vanished.

Cursing under his breath, Phoenix quickly made his way towards the Dominion's Lounge.

Afyon was awoken from the sound of his commlink beeping repeatedly in a loud, obnoxious tone he had set it for before deciding to take a nap.  He blinked a few times in order to clear his vision and then groggily reached over to his nightstand and picked up the commlink.

"This better be good"  He said into the comm, not really thinking about who would be paging him.

"Damn straight it is"  Fury growled back over the comm.  The loud angry voice of the general jolted the rest of Afyon's mind awake.

"Sorry about that general."  Afyon sound, his voice dry and groggy.  "What can I do for you?"

"First, I am not asking a favour of you.  Secondly, get your sorry ass out of bed and report to my office now!"  He shouted before killing the calm.

Afyon got out of bed, pulled on his pants and grabbed his shirt and gunbelt.  As he made his way down the hall, he slipped the shirt on and buckled the gunbelt.  By the time he reached the general's door, he was buttoning up the shirt.  Afyon knocked on the door and almost jumped when he heard a loud and angry "enter!"

Afyon pulled open the door and saw the army brass and all the other commanders.  He made his way over to Rema, buttoning up one of the upper buttons on his uniform as he made his way across the office.

"Now then, quick briefing and then you get your squads suited up and out of here."  Fury said.

The briefing took about ten minutes, after which the commanders left, some still typing some notes into their datapads.  Rema and Afyon made their way up to the Dragoons' quarters to wake up and brief the squad.

"Rise and shine you slackers!" Rema yelled as he pounded on all the Dragoon's doors. "You got five minutes to get your behind's up to the lounge, move it!"

Rema walked into his room hearing the sounds of shuffling bodies as the Dragoons scrambled to get ready and up to the lounge in time. Stripping his uniform off, he suited up into his Stormie armor and walked over to his weapons closet. Throwing the doors open, he grabbed his A280 blaster rifle, and his holster containing his dual DL-54 Auto-Pistols. Tightening the holster around his waist and tucking his helmet under his arm he headed up to the DD lounge.

"All right, for those of you who remember the Mission to Alzoc a year ago, this might be a groaning moment." Sergeant First Class Afyon warned as he began his briefing." The commander of that base and "Savoir" were rescued by Rebel forces."

The only one in the room to groan was TK.

"Since only Rema, TK and myself participated in this mission, you all have post-mission reports and information on your datapads," Afyon continued. "Our job is to get these two back. They have been spotted going to Kerest, another snowy Tundra."

"Aww, I just am getting unthawed from Alzoc," TK complained from the back of the room.

"Yes it will be cold, make sure to wear your long underwear under your armor," Afyon said with a smile. "Now, this mission will be split into two phases. Phase one: all the SL'/XO's/FTC's in the Army will be heading out to Suis Van and capture a rebel ship to use to infiltrate the rebel base on Kerest. Phase two: The Army will execute an invasion of Kerest to get back the two rebel commanders. You will be briefed more in depth later. Any questions? Good, ill see you in the hanger in 10 minutes. Dismissed."

Afyon made his way back to his quarters and grabbed his gear.  He threw the cold weather gear he had used on Alzoc III into a bag and quickly suited up into regular stormtrooper armour for phase one of the operation.  He quickly strapped on the pieces of the armour on his legs and arms before strapping the chestplate in place.  He moved his pistol into a different gunbelt and strapped it.  Afyon grabbed his pack and extra bad and slung his rifle over his shoulder.  On his way out, he tosses his datapad and commlink into his helmet and carried the gear out towards the hanger.

Fifteen minutes later, the squad was finally assembled by the shuttle.  The last of the ammunition shipment arrived a minute later.  The squad quickly divided up some of the ammo before dragging the rest of the cases onto the shuttle.  Afyon slipped three extra a280 cartridges into his bag and clipped one onto his belt beside an extra pistol cartridge.  Rema and Afyon both grabbed a couple of concussion grenades and flashbangs which they slipped into their stormtrooper packs.  Afyon's pack was relatively empty, most of his extra gear wasn't going to be used for the first phase.

The squad placed their extra bags in the back with the ammunition and everyone but Afyon and Rema put their stormtrooper packs in compartments for storage.  The Dragoons were running a little bit behind scheduel so they would be running from their shuttle to the other one the second they landed.

Two minutes later, Afyon heard the whirl of the engines starting up.  The shuttle jolted as the repulsorlift coils kicked in and tilted slightly as the pilot made a quick turn and raced towards the exit at a speed Afyon was sure was well above the safe level.  Once in space, the repulsor whirls died down and the softer pulsing sound of the shuttle's engines kicked in.  The pilot, trying to make up time, raced for the navbuoy at high speed and made the jump to lightspeed at the first possible moment causing the shuttle to shake violently as the engines made the very sudden shift from highspeed sublight speed to hyperspace.  Afyon leaned back and tried to catch a few minutes more sleep before the shuttle arrived at the Dominion.

EDIT by Prefect.  Warning shot. Behave.

Stepping into the dimly lit lounge, Phoenix selected the most appealing table - the one in the dark shadowy corner of course - and slid into the seat. A serving droid came over to take his order, but Phoenix just waved it away.

Not long after Cyanus appeared, and wordlessly slipped into the booth. Otto followed him in. Both looked at Phoenix and waited for him to speak.

Phoenix let the silence hang in the air as he gauged the temperament of his two junior commanders. Finally, taking a deep breath, he began.

"We seem to have a problem here." Turning towards Otto, he continued "You don't trust me do you?"

The older Dark Jedi sighed. "You want to know? I don't trust either of you. Phoenix, you aren't the same person I left the squad to. Cyanus, you aren't the same trooper I've known for years. I used to count you as friends, now I don't know what to make of you anymore."

Neither Cyanus nor Phoenix responded at first, Phoenix letting the same silence hang in the air.

"This wasn't unexpected." Cyanus finally said, "Like I said in the hanger, I may not be Dee, but that doesnt mean you can't trust me."

"Otto, we are half the Dark Jedi contingent on this mission. We are trying to break into one of the most secure places in the Republic, steal a ship, and get back out. We HAVE to be able to work together." Pulling back his hood, he looked Otto square in the eye and continued, "I won't apologize for what I said, nor should I have to. If the Order had been given the two prisoners after Alzoc, we could have ripped the information out of their heads, then had them tried and executed in two days. Instead here we are, going after them again. Now you may not know me, you may know not know Cy, but we need to work together on this. Are you with me?"

Otto looked away from Phoenix, staring down at the table. A long second passed before Otto responded. "Yah, I'm with you."

"Good. Cy? You with me?"

"I carry out my orders, the rest is details." the Krath Knight responded. HE was about to continue when the hyperspace reversion alarms sounded.

"We better get back to the hanger." Phoenix said. The three Dark Jedi Knights slipped out of the booth and exited the lounge.

All the Raiders Dark Jedi spotted their squad wandering about in the hangar at about the same time. Otto was about to head toward them to assemble the men together when Phoenix wordlessly motioned for Cyanus to brief them.
Breaking off from his brothers-in-darkness, the gunnery sergeant approached for his apparent brothers-in-arms, whatever the hell that meant to him. He maneuvered through an obstacle course of supply boxes, ships, and personnel. It didn't take much to get their attention, however; a calm announcement over the Raiders frequency did nicely.
"Over here," said Cyanus, folding his arms.
A babble of confused voices, with questions regarding someone named "Dee," cluttered up the channel for a few minutes. Not long after, a rabble of strangely dressed fools formed a circle around the Krath and stared him in the helmet lenses. They hardly looked like soldiers, but the feeling at the back of his mind told him that looks meant nothing.
"I am Cyanus, your new assistant squad leader. That's all you need to know about me -- no more questions about whether I am 'Dee' or not, since I don't know what the hell you are talking about. On to the important details..."Shantsa" and "Savior" have escaped from one of our prisons in a ridiculously easy rescue operation. Now we have their locations on Kerest, a relatively backwater planet." Like the ones Raiders have been doing forever, from what I've heard, he muttered bitterly.
A trooper lifted a bottle of ale to his lips, only to have the entire drink flying out of his grip, floating through the air seemingly of its own accord, then landing into a recycling bin. The gunnery sergeant glared deep at the most wretched-looking and drunken 'soldier' of all. "Pay attention! You must be Snipes." Cyanus added as an afterword. "First the non-commissioned officers will board the Sluis Van Shipyards and steal a ship, which sounds awfully similar to last year's operation on Alzoc III -- though I don't remember being there. We'll be landing in a secured base so prepare for close-in combat if you must. I suppose we have to get those two incompetent officers back alive. Get ready when we get back, but we won't take long. I suppose you can relax and contemplate for now.
"Oh, and I'll be watching the lot of you. If you take too long when we get back, if I smell alcohol, and if I think you are playing too much sabacc, you all will be sorry! Dismissed!"

"I think that went rather well, for a first meeting," said Cyanus as he rejoined the NCOs behind Phoenix and Otto.

EDIT by Prefect.  Warning shot.

Afyon awoke as the intercom system on the shuttle began beeping.  A minute later, the shuttle jolted as it reverted back to realspace.  The soft throbbing noise of the sublight engines kicked in as the pilot steered towards the Dominion.  About five minutes later, the shuttle slowled down and the rough sound of the repulsorlift coils kicked in as the pilot guided the shuttle into the hanger and set it down gently.  Afyon stood up, slung his rifle and pack over his shoulder and grabbed his helmet.

"Alright I am going to run over to see when our shuttle leaves, the rest of you start unloading the gear.  I will have a droid bring over something to put it on so you can bring it over to our area.  Rema oversee this until I get back."  Afyon instructed.  Afyon walked down the ramp and quickly made his way over to the larger shuttle they would be taking on this mission.  When he arrived, he didn't see any of the others.  A minute later, he managed to find the pilot who was giving orders to a pair of droids.  From the pilot, Afyon learned that the Dominion would be making a hyperspace jump first.  He breathed a sigh of relief and made his way back over to the squad shuttle.

"Alright guys change of plans.  The ship is moving to a new location before we head out.  Therefore, we will be assembling our gear in the squad area and I will give a more detailed briefing about we can expect on this mission.  We might even have time to run over some footage of the last mission that we recorded.  Last I heard, we will be using repuslorsleds for this mission again, I'll see if I can get access to one and maybe a simulation program so you can familiarize yourselves with them."  Afyon instrucuted.  "Until then, lets offload this gear and get moving," he ordered.  Afyon put his gear down beside a couple of ammunition crates and began to help bringing the rest of the gear off the shuttle.

About ten minutes later, the last of the gear was off and stacked ontop of three repuslor trollies that Afyon had managed to find in the hanger.  The squad moved the gear into their area and went to grab something to eat while Afyon prepared the more detailed briefing and made a couple of calls to the motorpool onboard the ship.

(ooc: more info on HSC thread)

Raziel finished assembling all of his gear as the dominion moved to the edge of Vast Empire controlled space. All of his weapons were spread out on the bed in front of him, the variety of pistols covered the entire bed. It wasn't even a small bed. Raziel brought one hand up to his chin and stroked his thin beard. After a moments thought he picked his usual variety of hold-out pistols and tossed them into a bag. They were his weapon of choice these days, small concealable weapons that only harboured a few shots worth of charge. Amongst his favourites were the; Defender 12, MB-450 penetrator and the Quickfire-4.
For the initial mission he doubted they would be useful, so he saved them for later. Instead he picked his IR-5 repeaters along with a pair of fletchette pistols. The perfect weapons for deck clearing he decided. He placed them to one side and cleared the rest of his weapons away, although on a thought he put a QuickSnap 36T Blaster Carbine in his kit bag for later.

He turned to what functioned as his wardrobe and tapped the control pad once. The door slid open to reveal his new armour. A modified camo scout suit. Although he was not a fan of the adaptive optics that literally painted a picture of the background on the suit and for most missions he preferred to wear black and keep to the shadows. But he had the suit reprogrammed with a set of a few thousand colour schemes, the suit would monitor the surroundings and simply pick a camouflage scheme to blend in and break up Raziel's silhouette. Raziel donned the suit and activated it, the suit quickly changed to adopt a camouflage pattern of shades of grey. Even the polarised visor changed to a dark shade of grey.

Raziel smiled as he regarded the results in a mirror. To complement the armour he had ordered similar bandoliers and holsters, which was easy enough as colour changing fabric was all the rage in fashion these days. His weapons however, would still all be black. He slung a bandolier of throwing knives over his head, wrapped a braced of knives around each wrist. His fletchette pistols were holstered to his thighs, and his repeating pistols hung from his utility belt.

If everything had gone to plan his colour changing speeder bike should be finished by now, the fee had been high to have engineers wire it with photoreceptors. When he went on recon for Iron Horse squad he was planning on not getting blown to pieces on the first run.

"So we'll be coming in along this vector, nice and slow." Rizzit said, pointint towards a thing green line imposed on a holo map of Sluis Van. Raziel sat next to him, stifling a yawn.
"We will be looking out for a small republic transport or freighter, either docked at a refuelling spire, or without fighter escort. If we can find an unescorted ship near the outskirts of the shipyards, we'll feign life-threatening damage and request help. We'll then jam the others ships comms and board them quickly, then the two ships will simply fly off without a sound. The ships feel fairly safe around Sluis Van so we shouldn't have too hard a time convincing someone to dock and help us out. If we cant find one then things will be more interesting. We're going to have to pull into a refuelling spire for maintenance next to an unmanned republic ship. Then we have to break into the ship and take it, with the minimum contact with the stations guards."

"What about security checks?" Cyanus called out.

"As far as we know they don't carry out checks on civilian craft, except for the odd smuggling check. If that happens I'm afraid there's nothing we can do, but abort."

"So what ship are we taking?" Kuroishi said quietly from the front of the meeting room.

"Ah, that'd be one of mine. So no spilling drinks if you don't mind." Fury put in. There was hush for a moment, then a low mumble as squad leaders discussed things amongst themselves and confided in their assistants. Fury held one hand up to his ear for a moment and turned away.

"Gentlemen, the Dominion is dropping out of hyperspace in a short time. I suggest you get fully prepped and down to shuttle bay three." The NCO's filed out of the meeting room, none of them seeming either anxious or indifferent about the task at hand.

Raz awoke from a light slumber in one of the passenger chairs on Fury's citadel cruiser. He looked about him at the platoon's squad commanders, all lying around in the spacious chairs, their belongings spread all about them. Raziel rubbed his eyes and sat up.

"Ok guys, I need two volunteers to man the side turrets in case things get nasty." Fury's voice came over the comm system.

"Raz, can you come up here? We need to shop for a ride," Rizzit added.

Raziel walked along the "neck" of the ship until here reached the cockpit, where he found Rizzit and Fury staring at the blue tunnel of a hyperspace corridor. Slowly the tunnel turned into a set of streaks, then a single point in space. The Citadel-class civilian cruiser dropped out of hyper space into the Sluis Van shipyards outer lanes.

"Civilian liner, please pull out of the incoming lane and follow along the path we are sending to your nav computer now," chirped the automated message from the shipyards. Fury eased the controls across and the view shifted to show the long, multi-segmented station, that was the main part of the shipyard.

"Well this should be interesting," Raziel said, strapping himself in.

"See anything you like?" Rizzit smiled.

"Hmm, got some big ships incoming, hope its not a republic fleet," Fury said, checking the nav computer's journey log. Raziel scanned the space ahead of them, his sharp eyes darting from target to target, looking for something suitable.

"What about that one?" he pointed to sleek ship, to their left, heading to leave the system.

"Raz, that model number was decommissioned from the republic fleet last year." Fury said.

"Do you sell everything at your shop nowadays?"

"I like to keep in touch with things," he replied. Fury's ship drifted closer and closer to the shipyards and its defending stations, with no potential targets in sight. Fury pointed out a small New Republic frigate that was just heading out from dock.

"It's a bit close to the station for comfort," Rizzit warned.

"I think it's the best bet so far, we could always trail it away from sluis van a little," Raziel added.

"Uh-oh," Fury moaned. "Check out the scanners, look, those are impstars!" before Raziel could even look down at the instruments a freighter erupted just ahead of them. Out of it swarmed a cloud of TIE's, who immediately started to engage the nearest snub-fighters. Fury pushed down on the controls to avoid a TIE that screeched right overhead. Raziel saw a flash to one side, and turned in time to see a star destroyer pull out of hyperspace.

"That's the chimera!" Rizzit gasped.

"It's Thrawn, he's launching an attack. Fury get us the hell out of here!" Raziel shouted.

"No, wait. The TIE's are ignoring us, because we're civilian. This might be an opportunity, with all this going on no-one's going to miss a transport," Fury said, as he watched the battle unfold around him.

"Granted, but no-one's going to dock with us now."

"True, I guess we'll have to hit a refuelling spire then. Wait! Hang on!" Fury hit the controls hard again as a small conical object shot past them. The little object slammed straight into the hull of the frigate just ahead of them, there was a flare and it disappeared inside the ship. Plumes of air erupted out into the vacuum of space and the frigate went dead.

"What the hell was that?" Raziel asked. Then almost as quickly the ship came back to life and started to head towards the impstars at the edge of the shipyards.

"This, is Grand Admiral Thrawn." A smooth voice cut over the com system. "Your fleet is mine."

"Luke! This is Han, they're not trying to wreck the fleet, they're trying to steal it!" a more rugged voice came over the open channels.

"Do you think that was...?" Raziel trailed off.

"No time to get head-hunting now, even if Commander Skywalker is about," Fury said. he manoeuvred the civilian liner though the battling fighters. More and more of the republic ships succumbed to the strange boarding devices. Whatever the things were they were flushing out the air inside the ships and then taking control. More was revealed as one of the strange conical objects was struck by a laser and brought to a halt. It appeared to be some kind of drilling device.

"Zero-G troopers!" Rizzit said, pointing out a small white figure leaving the damaged boarding ship. Fury pulled up alongside a refuelling spire next to an old rebellion Nova Courier. The ship had full republic markings and was down as a weapons carrier.

"Ok you guys go in and take that ship. I'll stay here and try and keep the TIE's and the Zero-G troopers off your backs," Fury said, getting up and heading to one of the cruisers turrets.

"Pheonix, bring some explosives!" Rizzit shouted as the ship locked in place.

*    *    *

"Sir, a civilian cruiser has just docked with the station. Without permission."

"Well crewman thats probably because they're scared of the fighting," replied to sluissi who oversaw refuelling spire 6. "Leave them shut inside their ship for now and have a security team to go down and see if they need help. Best be careful I suppose."

A group of ten shipyard security personnel walked down to where the civilian ship was docked. They were only armed with blaster pistols, and those they kept holstered at their sides. This was only a routine check, after all.

One of them walked up to the closed door and held down a key on one side of it.

"Hello, do you need any assistance?"

"Pheonix are you sure that isn't too much?" a voice came back through the speaker quietly.

"Look do you want to do it? Right then, shut it!"

"Hello?" asked the security staff again, slightly bemused.

"Oh, hi there." Raziel's voice came back through the speaker, loud and clear. "If you could hold on for a second we'll be right with you." The security guards looked at each other, confused.

"Ask them if they can open the door for us?" another distant voice came through the speaker. Before the security personell could reply another distant voice replied.

"Look I damn well spent an age on this door, don't you go and bloody open it now!" it was the first speaker.

"But if they just open it, you could use all that stuff later!"

"Look I've got it all rigged up now and ready to go, don't you dare tell me to take it off now."

The security guards looked at each other again, this time suspicion was creeping into their expressions. One of them un holstered his pistol.

"Excuse me what is going on in there?" the leader asked into the speaker.

"Phenoix just do it," Rizzits voice piped up. Before the guards could respond the airlock door was launched out of place with a brilliant flash of light and an enormous explosion. The circular door slammed into two guards and crushed them against the opposing wall. Raziel was first through the opening, a fletchette pistol in one hand and a lightsaber in the other.

"Control it's another imperial attack! Request back, I repeat request....." his comm signal was cut short.

Raziel deactivated his lightsaber and picked his way through the dismembered corpses. It wouldn't be long before more serious security got up here, he had to work fast.

"Ok hold them off! I'll slice the door," Raziel went to work on the airlock which lead to the Nova Cruiser and the rest of the squad leaders formed up around him.

Afyon kneeled behind Otto, who kept his saber raised high for protection. Afyon shouldered his A-280 as the sound of pounding footsteps reached them.

"Here they come," he said, taking aim.

The first of the Security forces skidded around the corner, their weapons held at ready
"There they are!" A young security officer shouted, excitement flashing on his face, "Imperials!"
Seven shots drilled into the boys chest, sending him flying backwards into his comrades.

"Stupid kid..." Kami murmured from where she had taken cover behind a bulkhead, her A-280 at her shoulder

The rest of the security force chose to restrain from speaking, letting their weapons do the talking for them instead.
Fire poured unmercilessly towards the NCOs position, rebounding off the walls and lighting the floor at Kami's feet.
Swearing along with half of the VE troopers, Kami flipped a grenade off her belt, and chucked it behind her to Rizz. Leaning out from her bulkhead, she let rip, gunning down three Sluissis. Rizz pelted the grenade over her head, causing various screams of warning from the Security force line. A few sprinted out from behind cover, effectively sealing their fate as they left themselves open to VE gunfire.
The rest disappeared in a flash of smoke.

"Can you go any faster Raz!" Virius yelled as more troopers rushed forwards the fill the spots vacated by their departed comrades.
"I'm going as fast as I can" Raziel grunted.
Kami ducked back behind her bulkhead as fire concentrated in her direction.
Turning to Rizz, she threw him an exasperated smile, "I don't think they liked the whole grenade thing."

"GRENADE!"

Kami span about again in time to see four metal objects fly in their direction. Her heart rose to her throat, her finger hovering uselessly about her trigger.
The grenades froze mid air, then turned, flying back towards the smoke cloud they had originated from.
Screams of confusion sounded before all four detonated, turning violently on their own forces.
Kami glanced up to see a flash of amusement light up Phoenix's eyes. He grinned down at her, "They definitely don't like it."

"Got it!" Raz yelled triumphantly, the airlock groaning open in front of him, "Lets move!"

"There's more coming!" Kami yelled.

Rizzit called for another grenade from Phoenix. Of all times for his aim to be off, it had to be now. It missed by a longshot, and that left more work to be done to gun
the rest of them down. Kami took her handy A280 and punched some holes in another trooper's chest.

"Well, there's one!" she said sarcastically.

Rizzit tried his hand with a Sat'skar sword. He needed to start learning to fight this way eventually, now was a good time to start. Rizzit charged at one of the troopers. The trooper he was fighting was very ill-experienced. Rizzit had actually
caught him off gaurd. In an attempt to block Rizzit's attacks, he had taken his rifle and swung it as if it was a sword. This only Resullted in the rifle getting damaged with each "block".  This didn't last very long, after a couple swings: Rizzit succeeded in plunging his sword through the troopers armor. The trooper let out a scream in agony as the sword was thrust threw him. Rizzit choose this time to twist the sword as he quickly removed it.

"Riz, let's go!" Fury hollered. "We don't have much time. Clear this lot out as soon as you can."

Rizzit nodded and pulled out his good ol' E-11S. It always got the job done. Adjusting the gun to heavy fire, he pulled back on the trigger and killed a trooper with only five shots. At the same time though, he gave the order to fall back. It was important to clear out all of the troopers, but at the same time: they needed to get to the ship. The sooner they got off Sluis Van: the better. After all, it was only a matter of time: soon reinforcements would be on their way, and they'd have another mob scene to deal with. In an attempt to get out of there, he decided to give Phoenix another chance and called for yet another grenade.

Afyon fired another burst from his A-280 then crouched behind the frame of a blast door to pop in another cartrige.  Rema was across from him on the other side waiting.  He leaned out and fired another burst, the powerful shot of the A-280 sent the trooper he hit backwards, knocking down to others.  All around them blaster fire was recocheting off of walls and the sound of the blasts and grenades were so loud that it pierced the eardrums, despite the ear protection the stormtrooper helmet and earplugs gave.  Afyon went from a crouching position to lying down on the ground and he did a quick roll into the hall, firing at a group of rebel troops who had been keeping them pinned down.  He managed to hit three before diving back for cover as a heavy burst of return fire blew past his position.

"We are wasting too much time here!"  Afyon exclaimed over the comlink.  "Not to mention that we aren't exactly armed to the teeth, if we stay here too long we won't have enough ammunition to fight our way into the ship."  He continued as he signalled to Rema and the two crouched down and leaned slightly into the hallway, firing on the again, reinforced rebel positions.  Down the hall, Afyon noticed a couple of doors and what looked like a gap, probably a linking hallway.  About halfway between the doors and their current position was another set of blast doors, it was just past that point where the rebels currently were positionned.

Afyon pulled out a pair of flashbangs that he had taken, and made the signal to Rema for grenades.  He gave the signal to Rema to throw in five seconds and then he threw the pair of flashbangs down the hall.  Rema and Afyon both lobbed a grenade down the hall just as the two flashbangs went off, illuminating the hallway with a brilliant flash followed by a thunderous roar.  Shrieks could be heard down the hall but were quickly drowned by the explosions of the concussion grenades.  The imperials quickly made their way down the hall, those with automatics peppered the rebel positions with heavy fire as they quickly approached the rebel positions.  Slowly, the rebels began to return fire as some recovered from the effects of the flashbangs.  Additional rebel forces had also begun to arrive to back up their positions.

"If we can force them back past the hallway on the right we can seize whatever rooms those are there.  If one of them is a computer or communications centre we can help shut down this sector and cut off the rebels"  Afyon said as he slapped a new clip into his A-280.

"Leave that to us." Phoenix shouted at Afyon, "Cy, Otto, on me." Putting his IR-s back in their holsters, Phoenix drew his lightsaber and thumbed the ignition switch. The amethyst blade sparkled to life with a *snap-hiss*, then was joined by two other blades, one red and one blue.

Opening himself fully to the Force, Phoenix motioned for Otto and Cy to flank him. Stretching out his sphere of influence, he got a sense of the numbers accumulating between the NCOs and the hallway. Letting the Force flow through him, he read the nervousness and trepidation eminating from the Republic troops. Smiling as Cyanus' and Otto's presences flared brilliantly in the Force, the three melded their minds, letting the other read their actions before they even happened.

With lightning fast reflexes, the three Dark Jedi rose from their cover and strode down the hallway. They were greeted by a malestorm of enemy fire, but most of it was unaimed and rushed. Those bolts that were by chance aimed at them were expertly deflected by either Phoenix or Cyanus running point.

Picking up their pace, the three Jedi reached the rebel position and broke apart their triangle formation. Otto drew his E-11 and peppered the rebels with scarlet bolts of energy. Phoenix used his left hand to draw one of his IR-5, raining blue death upon the hopelessly outmatched troops.

Panic set in as their numbers dwindled, and a few broke off and made a run for it. Raz, bring the others up Phoenix sent through the Force.

His IR-5 clicked as its magazine emptied, and Phoenix dropped the weapon and focused on his saber. Picking off a bolt headed for his thighs, the Knight rotated his wrist and picked off another one which would have gutted him. One trooper, a rodian by the looks of him, made the mistake of trying to take Phoenix hand to hand. The rodian drew a pair of long, curved vibroblades and glared menacingly at Phoenix.

Trying hard not to laugh, Phoenix swept his saber across the rodian's vibroblades. With a spark, they were cut off at the hilt.

A look of shock passe over the alien's face, but was quickly replaced by one of pain as Phoenix's saber bisected him at the waste.

Turning back, Phoenix saw the other VE members overrunning the barracade and heading into the side rooms. Kami gave him a wink as she passed by, bringing a smile to Phoenix's face.

"Phoenix, you three stay here. You can sense people coming. IF you get in trouble, comm us. We'll be checking out these rooms." Rizz said over the comm-link.

"Affirmative." Phoenix responded.

Falling back to either side of the doorway, Otto took cover behind the left side, Cyanus the right. Phoenix stood in the  middle, arms at his side, saber lit.

It was then he noticed the burning in his shoulder, and the scent of charred flesh. A piece of flechette had buried itself in his right shoulder. Grimacing as he withdrew the metal shard from his shoulder through the Force, Phoenix directed some of his energy towards the wound, accelerating its healing.

"Phoenix this is Rizzit, we found a computer terminal. Vir is going to cut off rebel support. Stay on alert."

"Roger that." the Sith responded.

Stretching out his sphere of influence again, Phoenix located a republic squad setting up another road block 2 hallways down. Their smug confidence gave him the impression they had a little surprise in store for the Imperials...

The chief security officer was no fool. This was a small but very deadly force of Imperials, as he saw on the various viewscreens. But why the hell would they bother stealing a docked ship when their mole miners could do the same job at less human cost and more efficiently? That'd be something to report to his superiors when this is all over. In the meantime, he switched the communicator to all the security troops who were either setting up choke points or rushing the enemy.
"These Imperials are heavily armed, grab the heaviest things we got on this station and hem them in. I see three of what looks like Jedi in hallway 30. Take them out and --"
"Hello there, this is Major Rizzit reporting in live from some random terminal room. Say goodbye to your reinforcements. Vir, hit it!" blared the comm suddenly.
The blast doors on the troop barracks shut tightly and didn't open to plea or command. The other marines were trapped, unable to rescue their comrades.

Cyanus picked through the debris and assembled a barricade from metal plates. To fool the enemy temporarily, the scout propped dead bodies so that they looked as though they defended the spot. He finished by taking position at his old doorway spot, checking his armored body for any burn holes. Good, none.

"Hurry the hell up. Those Imperial dogs might come at any second!" warned the rebel sergeant.
"I'm trying, damn it!" snapped the engineer as he put the last piece in place, then powered up the massive defensive gun. "Think you can handle this toy?"
"Like shooting a scurrier," said a trooper as he took position behind the E-WEB, facing the recently overrun hallway. Other marines ran past him to the choke point -- to their deaths.

"Cut off their ventilation." said Rizzit thoughtfully.
Typing furiously, Virius muddled through codes to shut the barrack's air supply to further shake up the republic marines.

Otto peeked through the doorway scanning for any intruders. I feel it too, Phoenix projected through the Force. They're coming. Cyanus said nothing, but readied his saber and rifle.

Drawing back his sphere until it resembled a cone, Phoenix stepped out into the hallway and prepared to meet the attackers. The rhythmic pounding of combat boots echoed from around the corner as Otto and Cyanus joined him. All three readied their sabers, Otto and Cyanus each with an E-11 in their off hands, Phoenix with his left arm outstretched and pointed down the hallway.

Waiting for the troops to round the corner, Phoenix smiled as he found what he was looking for. Reaching out and pulling with the Force, Phoenix snatched the pins from the grenades of the front soldiers.

The front three panicked, trying desparately to remove the live grenades from their vests...but they were too late. Three explosions ripped through the troops, sending body parts flying down the hallway.

With a fierce cry, Phoenix charge down the hallway, saber at his left side pointed out in front of him. Otto and Cyanus were right after him, taking down two more targets with precisely aimed shots.

Then Phoenix reached the first of the six left. The first trooper he caught with an uppercut slash, splitting him from stem to stern. Turning the powerful blow into a piroutte, Phoenix extended his left leg mid flip and caught another square in the jaw. The marine never had a chance to fall, as Cyanus' saber burned right through him. Landing on one knee, Phoenix swept his blade in a tight arc from left to right, severing the leg of another marine. A shot to the face by Otto ended his cries of pain.

Then it was over. Cyanus had taken down the last two with a trio of bolts in each, two in the chest, one in the head. Reaching into his jumpsuit pocket for his comlink, he raised Rizzit.

"Major, this is Phoenix. Path to the ship is clear. Looks like you cut off their backup."

"Roger that Phoenix, bringing everyone up now. Vir unlocked the ships main hatch, secure it and wait for us there. Expect heavy resistance inside." the PC's voice crackled back over the comm.

Phoenix clicked the comm twice in acknowledgment, then motioned for Cyanus and Otto to move out.

Afyon and Rema moved to the door further down the hall on the otherside from the one Rizzit broke into.  Afyon crouched down, poorly aimed enemy fire sometimes recocheting close by as he openned the door.  Rema fired a burst inside and then covered as Afyon dove into the room and came up shooting, downing two rebel guards.  Rema came in behind and shot two more and a technician.  The two move quickly around the rows of computers and terminals.  Afyon picked off a pair of technicians as they fled for cover.  A burst of sparks exploded above Afyon's head followed by a short three shot burst from Rema who gunned down a trooper who was hiding behind them.

"Alright clear!"  Afyon shouted as he scanned the area near the large set of terminals in the back of the room.  Rema shouted clear a moment later from his side of the room.  Afyon scanned the terminal panel closely as Rema came over to cover him.

"Watch it"  Rema shouted there was a loud clink near the two of them.  Rema dove to one side and Afyon the other a split second before an explosion rocked the area where they had just been.  The two openned fire on a pair of rebels who had made their way into the room.  The first rebel was dead before he ever took up a firing position.  The second managed to find cover behind a charred part of one of the computer tables that had been destroyed by the grenade.  The rebel looked up to fire at the two only to take four shots in the head, the power of the A-280 blew most of the rebel's head right off, creating a long trail of bloody mess towards the doorway.

Afyon jumped up and ran over to the control panel.  After about ten seconds he pushed a sequence of buttons.

"Alright I activated the fire alarm on a lower level, that should keep some of them occupied for the moment, might even create the illusion of two attacking forces or that we split up."  Afyon said to Rema.  "Lets move on to next room, watch your step where the dead rebel is, might be rather slippery from all the blood."  Afyon warned.

"Sir our troops are locked down and the imperials are at the entrance to the Sojourn shall i try and override the doors?"

"The enemy are all converged on that transport?"

"Yes sir,"

"Let them have it then, the imperials are getting away with most of the Republic fleet, we have bigger things to worry about than one transport.

"Warn the Sojourn's crew and seal off that  level. Have any damaged Republic ships coming in go to a different refuelling spire, tell them the situation here is bad and our safety is comprimised. Now we just hope that those soldiers only wanted that one ship."

*    *    *

Fury was sat at the controls one of his ships gun turrets, looking out at the battle around them. So far it was looking pretty bad for the Republic, a great deal of ships were now moving off towards Thrawns fleet. The numbers he gained here would possibly strengthen him enough to comprimise the Vast Empire's own plans of conquest.

His train of thought was interrupted as a TIE fighter schreeched past the refuelling tower, it's lasers flarred as it strafed a vulnerable Republic frigate that was still docked.

"Ok that was too close," Fury powered up the turret, mindful of the fact that another TIE pilot might try and take out the Republic transport next to his ship. The one the non-coms were probably on board now.

Another TIE fighter appeared on the scanner, Fury swivelled the turret around and waited for it to come into view. Fury opened fire, placing a burst of laser fire in the TIE fighter's path. The fighter's solar wing was smashed off and it spin out of control.

"This is rogue 4 to civilian ship, thanks you saved me tail,"

Fury paused. He'd just saved one of the infamous Rogue Squadron.

"Shit."

Raziel waited by the Nova cruisers main hatch, he had sliced the airlock leading to the ship, but the ships own door remained locked. A light by the side of the ships door turned green, as someone unlocked it from afar. Kami shouldered her weapon and kept it trained on the door, just incase the ships crew decided to come out. Raziel kept his focus inwards, in case more of the shipyards security tried to pin them down.

He recognised friendly prescenses through the Force heading their way from different directions. Rizzit, Pheonix, Cyanus. He lowered his weapons as they approached.

"Ok get inside, any more troops?" he asked

"No more on this level, they've been locked down."

"Excellent, lets go. I'll stay here for a moment."

Raziel stood at the entrance to the airlock, pistol in hand. Behind him the rest of the officers opened the door to the ship and charge in. Raziel heard gun fire and shouting behind him. Slowly he backed up towards the door to the ship, all of the others were inside the Sojourn now, it was time to make sure no troops could follow them.

He trust one saber into the side of the airlock, piercing the metal. Air rushed passed him and escaped into the vacuum outside. He dove into the ship after the rest of the squad leaders and sealed the entrance shut. With the airlock a vacuum no-one could follow them, but they were also trapped in this ship now,

*Before Raz's post*

Afyon and Rema made their way back to the door of the room.  Outside, the enemy fire was becoming increasingly spurratic as their numbers dwindled.  Rizzit must have cut access to this area.  Afyon thought as he fired a burst of fire at a pair of rebels before racing across the hall to cover Rema's exit.  The three dark jedi were up ahead and had made a significant dent in the enemy forces.  The number of arms and legs scattered about the hallway spoke for themself.

"The airlock is open, fallback!"  Raziel called over the comlink.  Behind them, Afyon could see some of the imperials leave their cover spots and run for the ship.  Afyon fired a burst at a pair of rebels to Phoenix's left and then made his way down the hall with Rema.  Rizzit and Virius joined them as they ran for the airlock.  Behind them, the sounds of spurratic fire and loud shrieks began to die down as they reached the target ship.

The four madeit to the airlock and boarded the ship.  Raziel sealed off the ship.

"Alright everyone, we'll head for the bridge.  Once we secure it and the self-destruct mechanisms, you will break off into pairs and search the ship for any crew or guards who might be aboard.  Take them down quickly before they can get a message off to the NR.  Last thing we need is for a couple of fighters to blow up this ship as a tiny victory in their large defeat."  Rizzit ordered.

The alarming  number of TIES being destroyed near a refueling spire piqued the interst of a squadron of interceptors harassing a few X-wings nearby.

"Kappa squadron, on me." 1st Lieutenant Markus Ramas ordered his squadron to come about, makeing a beeline for the refueling spire.

Opening a channel to the civilian ship swatting away the TIEs, Ramas said, "Civilian ship, this is 1st lieutenant Ramas of the new Empire Navy under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Cease hostiities or be destroyed."

No reply. Ramas triggered a warning shot that flashed in front the civilian cockpit.

His reply was a scarlett bolt clipping one of his wingmen.

"Kappa squadron, designate target priority one, take down that civ."

11 TIE interceptors broke into their respective flights and began their attack.

*                              *                                    *

"Sithspawn" Fury cursed. "Rizzit, this is Fury, I have some company here. I'm going to have to cut free of the spire, any chance of some help clearing these TIE's off me?"

"Sorry Fury, looks like you're on your own. Raz just decompressed the airlock and....wait...PHOENIX WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!"

The sound of muffled arguing issued over the comm, followed by a loud crash and cursing. THen RIzzit's voice came back on the line. "Fury, Phoenix is on his way."

*                              *                                        *
By the time Phoenix reached the airlock, the emergency seals were about to kick in. He had just enough time to make it through and back onto the station. On appraoch he had noticed a few unmanned XJ-65 X-wings docked on the near side of the spire. That was his destination.

Stretching out his senses, he could feel no presences close to him, so he set off at a dead sprint. Rounding two corners  and sliding under a closing blast door, Phoenix reached his destination. He quickly grabbed a slight helmet and slid down the grappling arm into the cockpit of the X-wing.

Holy crap...These are just a LITTLE bit different than my Missile-Boat. The controls were similair, but all just in different places. He quickly toggled the warm up switch, and silently prayed that it had been refueled already. He was immediately greeted by the whine of the ion engines warming, and a few seconds later read green across the board.

Closing the canopy, Phoenix threw down the hammer, tearing the docking sleeve from the fighter. He quickly identified Fury's cruiser on his targeting computer, then picked out one of the attackers.

Rounding the side of the spire, his jaw dropped. Fury's cruiser was ensnared in a net of interceptors, all swarming around it like an angry swarm. Selecting his first target, Phoenix opened himself to the Force and dropped in behind the interceptor.

The pilot, with his target locks blaring, immediately rolled to port and dove, trying to use his speed advantage against Phoenix. Rather than follow the interceptor, Phoenix switched his weapons over to missiles and killed the throttle. Rotating around an axis, Phoenix brought the interceptor into his sights. The HUD went red and Phoenix squeezed the trigger, sending two brilliant red missiles after the fleeing fighter.

Green laser fire peppered his tail, and he knew surprise was no longer in his favor. Slamming back the throttle, Phoenix barrel rolled then inverted and dove. Using his rudders he jinked left and right, never giving the interceptor a clean shot. Finally he fully reversed his thrust, inverted the nose of the fighter, then kicked it back in.

In atmosphere, the fighter would have been ripped apart by the G-forces, but in space, the reverse throttlee hop worked perfectly. THe interceptot blew past underneath him, and Phoenix dropped back onto his tail. He went immediately for a quad burst of laser fire, melting off one S-foil and causing the TIE to spiral out of control off into space.

Swinging his snub fighter around, Phoenix realized he was breathing hard. All of the days exertions were beginning to take their toll on him. His focus in the Force became blurred, but it was almost over. His threat indicator lit up as 3 of the remaining four interceptors vectored in on him. Fury wasted the last one with a full blast from the turbolaser, then angled his ship out of system.

The Nova courier ship the others had stolen followed closely behind Fury. Phoenix knew their destination, he just had a little bit of business to finish...

Kami, Virius, Rema, and Afyon led the pack quickly towards the bridge of the small rebel ship.  Some had stayed to ensure the airlock stayed shut and to prevent any crew from trying to open it and make a break for it.  The imperials quickly found themselves outside the door to the bridge.

"Alright, you three get into firing positions, I'll open the door.  Drop the rebels quickly before they can get to the communications gear or the self-destruct mechanism."  Afyon ordered the three junior sergeant.  They got into position a few feet from the door in order to allow them to see inside faster while Afyon quickly plugged his datapad into the computer panel and launched a program.  The door openned a second later followed by a burst of shots from the imperials.  Between the three of them, the sergeants made quick work of the lightly armed rebel guards and technicians.

All four of them made their way inside, carefully scanning the room and covering each other as they looked for any hiding rebels.  Afyon spun around and fired two shots into the head of a rebel who peeked out from behind  a computer terminal.

"Rizz the bridge is clear, do you want to send some to releave us so we can clear out the rest of the ship?"  Afyon asked over the comm.

"Stand by Afyon, there's a team heading up your way, split into pairs and search the rest ofthe ship.  If you find the ranking officer or pilot take him alive, he could be useful for getting codes and communications info.  I am sure our dark jedi can persuade him."  Rizzit said in a rather evil tone.

"Will do Major."  Afyon replied.  "Alright guys, when the next team comes we are to break off into pairs and search the ship.  Taking the ranking officer and or pilot alive, the Major plans to send him to the dark jedi for a lesson in the benefits of cooperating with the empire."  Afyon ordered, he tried to mask his disgust for the methods of the dark jedi in his voice.  Afyon did not believe brute force or torture were effective means of gaining information but rather just a form of evil humour that he couldn't understand how any human could enjoy.  A minute later, the next team arrived and Afyon went with Rema down to the lower level to search the ship.

Afyon and Rema made their way out of the bridge and headed down the hall to their right.  Kami and Virius made their way down the left hall a moment later.

"Alright hand signals only, this'll go much faster if we catch them by surprise, saves us ammunition and valuable time.  If they can find a way to send a communication off ofthe ship we will be in big trouble."  Afyon ordered as they made their way down the hall.  The two quickly moved through the hallway, A-280s ready to fire at moment's notice.  About halfway down the hall, the two arrivied at a door.  Afyon plugged his datapad in and activated the unlocking program.  The twoo stood on either side of the door and waited for the program to open it.  A second later, the door popped open with a loud whoosh from the hydraulic system.  The two swung their guns around the corner and both fired at the rebel technician who had spun around from his seat at one of the terminals.  The two quickly made their way in and searched the tiny room.

"Clear!"  Rema shouted.  The two made their way out and Afyon unplugged his datapad before they made their way to the end of the hall.  There there was an entrance across from them and a new hall on their right.  The two reached the corner and Afyon quickly looked around the corner to find the hallway empty.  He signalled to Rema and got into a covering position as Rema quickly made his way across the hall.  Rema covered him as he made his way across and got to work openning the door.  About ten seconds later it openned, revealling nothing but cleaning equipment and spare computer parts.  The two left and made their way down the next hallway.

The Kodama rocked from another blast.  He knew getting talked into providing his own luxury starship was going to bite him in the ass.

"Ensign Arran, how are we doing?" he asked the poor sap he'd pulled off of convoy escort duty to assist in handling his ship.

"Shields are holding, but we've really got to get some manuevering room.  There are too many turbolasers out there throwing beams at random for my liking."

"Alright, let me try something."  Letting one of the Imperial Center crewers take over the guns (he was a great chef as well as a spacer), Fury went to the cockpit and started setting up a few procedures for the targetting computer.

"Okay, everyone, the ion cannon is gonna try to disable oncoming TIEs.  Every so often, it's going to 'slip' and take down a New Republic craft.  It will try to keep everything away from us in a two kilometer bubble.  Anything comes closer than that, kill it. Once we get far enough, we'll lay down a concussion missile spread and get far enough away and wait for the rest of the team to get their butts out of there."

"Any concerns about Thrawn actually winning sir?"

"Nah.  He's bound to forget something.  Besides, unless he's got a Jedi in his pocket, he's outmatched.  Rogue Squadron, Solo, and Skywalker's dumb luck.  Even the Emperor couldn't handle all that action at once. Which is all the more reason to get our butts out of here."

The Kodama found a hole through the chaos of the shipyards.  Surprisingly enough, it was by following Rogue Squadron as the fighters cut their way through the TIEs in the vicinity.  A few Imperial fighters were disabled by Fury's gunners but nearly as many rebel snubfighters "accidentally" flew into the path of an ion beam.  Eventually, without much more direct hits, they came to a spot away from the main action.

"Evasive manuevers.  We'll wait for the others here.  I don't think we made too many friends this day, but we're not being followed either.  Let's get those tools out and start patching up what got thrown around."
