phheeww ok, i'm finally here 
hey all, i'm new, and feeling way over my head, mostly in regards to the meetings, reports and all the military talk.
What do i do! AH!!
hehe..i'ts ok..i'm not that seriously freaked out...
I've been playing Star Wars GB for the last three years and this is the first clan i've ever joined. The websites really impressive, the best i've seen, and i've checked out nearly all of the other clan sites that recruit on SWGB. Also, Fallen Angel who recruited me was a real champ. Very helpful and very persuasive, hehe. I've already started on getting my Zone friends to join up here, though most of them are rpg game players, none of us are huge fans of fests or deathmatchs. Is that a problem?
I think i missed out on the recommendation for basic training because my password didn't end up sending until it was 62 hours over the limit...lol...which is..needless to say... a major bummer
How do i know which squad i'm in? Are there many Clone Campaign players? Female Players? Any one else from Australia? In particular, Western Australia, where i am currently melting to my chair in 42 degrees celius heat?

Welcome.
Calm down.
No, we aren't a clan, but we definitely like to see dedicated gamers come to us and get our gaming types some solid competition. We are more of a club with gaming and writing and the occasional spurt of activity in the RP arena. So we'll take any activity you can give us.
We have a couple Aussies but from the Gold Coast/Brisbane area and wherever TK-112 is currently stationed. We also have a guy from Singapore and then there's Zed.
Wait, I don't want to scare you off yet. We'll all talk about Zed later.
I'm nominally in charge here so that means I get the blame and everyone else grabs the credit, which is what my job should be. Let me know if there is something you need to more actively participate.
You will start off in Drill squad and go through the motions learning to be active and report that activity so we know what you've been up to. You will find a few GB/CC players in that will welcome another player so hopefully that works out for everyone. And bring all the friends you have in. We like new blood and you definitely sound eager.
One more thing: Call me daddy.

beware the RAIDERS barracks, i bite. anyway wecome, i play BG and CC but i dont update them, so. . . anyway. if you need any help i hang out on MSN and AIM from around 5pm-8pm PST i dont do much as fallen or Otto could tell you, ahh. . .ok ran out of things to say.

heh heh as far as im concered its not worth the money, of course ive never even finished it but i liked Dungeon Siege alot better
and looking back up at your post,(Fury, Cos, anyone, correct me if im wrong here) gaming isnt a prerequisite to being here, its a good thing, its a very good thing, but not necesary, bu thtat dosnt mean you cant play them, go play them on the zone or wherever and put it in your report, it looks good heh when i started in here i played games alot and did alot of JO/JK RPG on the zone and hung out there, now, and you can ask anyone here, i play almost nothing, infact i do almost nothing but hang out on this foru, and wait for some1 to post. heh, but then im a sad creture.

mine are just ornamental, a actual "Living Blade" is around $1500, my are just replicas, my bambo staff Katana was $43, my dragon one was $30 and my highlander one was $150.

i have 7, but 3 of mine I actually use. I take ninjitsu lessons from my friend, and he's teaching me how to use the whole daisho set (katana and wakizashi), as well as the tanto. I have daisho + tanto for decoration, and one wakizashi for decoration too (It's puuuuuuuuuuurty) I dont even count the numerous bokken i bought for like...$8 in Japan. -----------------------

i saw a samurai sword the other day outside this knives store, i couldn't tell you what it was or whether it was real or not, but it was $2500...really fancy...really sharp. The guy demonstrating it was using it to cut up vegetables and stuff, lol -----------------------

Usually the really nice looking ones are for decoration, and would shatter in a sparring match. I just take it one on one with my instructor/friend. The best on i have is flame tempered spanish steel, pretty much the toughest sword you can buy. Thats what I'm going ot use to spar with. -----------------------

naw, get a living blade and you can cut threw your spanish steel in one swipe. my bambo katana would wuold work for sparing, although i doubt it was made for it and i would haveta put a better hilt on it, had to do that with my war sword -----------------------

Let's focus on what actually exists.
I really need to get back up to speed with my bokken. Its made of some wood that apparently is grown to induce the worst possible pain deep in your marrow. Or so I'm told; I won't let anyone else use it on me though I've whacked my shin a time or two with it.
As for sword quality, I have what's technically a practice sword but its one of the purtiest weapons I've ever seen. My wife gave some swordsmiths down the road from her in Japan my approximate height/arm length/etc. and they put together quite the implement.
To this day I can't get her to tell me what she paid for it but its a damn sight more than what she spent on my wedding ring, which is rather nice in its own right.
Her sword, of course, is perfectly proportioned for her and I have promised never to get her mad enough to have her actually use it on me.
Still, multi-folded Toledo or Damascus steel is about the best you can get and I bet one hell of a sword there Fallen. -----------------------

they sell livng blades my friend, i just cant find the damn site right now, but other than the japanese guy in seattle i cant find anywhere else that sells the mothers, and that guy in seattle is probably dead, and as far as is known to me a livng blade is a blade made in the traditional way Katanas where made with the folding steel and clay back cooling(i couldnt attempt to explain it and would need to find a site that explained the basic idea) and made to the specific person, they are atleast from my sources a 15-25 hunded dollars, thats about all i know, dosent matter sence i just buy the 30-40 dollar effective things around here take off the hilt and re hilt and re weight it to work better, except i havnt dont that with my best one because of how it fits in the scabbard. -----------------------

The dude in seattle is still alive. I went in his shop about a year ago. Very nice, VERY expensive. At least i think he's still alive, he was last year. And yes Fury, if you custom order a training blade it will be purty  i simply meant if you to a typical swordmaker shop, the best quality blades arent usually the most ornamental. It does sound like you got yourself one hell of a sword too. The balance on mine is a bit towards the tip, but i love the feel of it. Oh, and NEVER get hit in the ribs with that bokken. I had to nurse fractured ribs because i missed a parry.

huh, so hes still alive then, thats kool, maybe if i ever get the money i'll but something but i would need to save up for the summer to get anything. i have found that acctualy many of the swords (surprisingly the cheap ones mostly) have very good blades but are just wieghted like crap, i just re-balance them to fit me, of course i have no real reason to sence i cant use them, i've alos re-balanced them for friends. you can get some real good deals that way though, just buy a cheap 10-20 dollar one and re-balance it to fit you better, albeit it isnt perfect like Furys, but its functional. -----------------------
